Story
Meet Decker! Decker is a 4.5-month-old, 20lb Lab mix who is all legs, ears, and heart! This clever girl is super smart and picks up on routines quickly. When she’s not showing off her brains, she’s showing off her sweetness. Decker is a world class snuggler, always ready to curl up beside you and shower you with kisses. She adores her toys, and enjoys running zoomies in the yard. She has a playful spirit that’s impossible not to love. Decker will truly thrive in a home with another dog who can be her buddy for playtime, snuggle sessions, and everything in between. If you’re looking for a loving, joyful, and wonderfully goofy pup to brighten your days, Decker is your girl! Decker is fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Her adoption fee is $300.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Dawn is a 1.5 year-old mixed breed weighing about 43lbs. She’s a gentle, low-to-medium energy dog who enjoys her walks but is just as happy snoozing nearby. She’s a true velcro dog in the sweetest way — she loves to be close to her people and has this endearing habit of tucking her head between your head and shoulder, giving a little smoosh like she’s offering the warmest hug. She isn’t clingy or demanding; she simply wants to be near you and feel connected. Because of a rough start to life, Dawn can be timid when meeting new people. But she warms up beautifully with a little patience, and she truly adores people. She may startle at loud noises or quick movements in the home but she recovers quickly and is learning every day that the world can be a comfortable, happy place. Dawn gets along well with other dogs. She currently lives with a 40lb male dog, and the two of them enjoy running around outside and coexist peacefully. She also lives with a 1.5-year-old child. She’s still nervous around little ones because of their unpredictable movements and noise, so any children in her future home should go slowly with her while she adjusts. She’s about 90% potty trained and continues to improve. She does well in her crate and sleeps through the night without accidents. She walks nicely on a leash most of the time, though she can get reactive when she sees other dogs and may bark or pull. She’s very food-motivated, knows “sit,” and is eager to keep learning. Dawn is ready for her next chapter and would thrive in a home that understands her gentle nature. If you're hoping for a loyal, easy, affectionate dog who will quietly become your shadow, Dawn just might be the one. Dawn is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Hello! My name is Biscuit. I am an 8 year old lab mix and weigh about 60 pounds.  I am shy at first until I get to know you and then I'm very sweet!  I do get along well with other dogs after also getting to know them.   I am potty trained and getting more comfortable with going in the crate.  I love to go for walks and equally enjoy just relaxing on the couch with the rest of the pack. Biscuit is part of our Senior Soulmates Program. If he is adopted my a senior citizen, a generous donor will sponsor his adoption fee and he will come with six months of heartworm prevention.    All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   November 12, 2025, 10:16 pm
