Story
Meet Max! 🐾 Max is a 30 pound, 1 year old Lab mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for life. He was found as a stray in rough shape—severely underweight and missing much of his fur—but thanks to lots of care, patience, and love, Max has truly blossomed. He’s gained healthy weight and now sports a beautiful, shiny coat that matches his bright personality. Max is crate trained and currently working on potty training. He’s also learning how to walk nicely on a leash and is making great progress. He loves toys and has the cutest habit of “talking” while he plays, which makes playtime extra fun. Max has been fostered with dogs of all sizes, genders, and ages, and does wonderfully with everyone. Max absolutely loves to play with other dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine friend—or just an active family who enjoys playtime and companionship. Max is a resilient, joyful pup who’s ready for a forever home where he can keep thriving and sharing his happy spirit. If he sounds like the perfect boy for you, apply to adopt him today! Max is currently being fostered in Cincinnati, OH, and his adoption fee is $275. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Hello! My name is Biscuit. I’m a 9 year Lab mix weighing about 60 pounds, and I’m the perfect blend of gentle, sweet, and laid-back. I can be a little shy when we first meet, but once I feel comfortable, my loving personality really shines. I’m a total sweetheart who enjoys the company of my people and my dog friends.  In my foster home, I love snuggling with the other dogs, going for leisurely walks, and then settling in for a cozy couch nap. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion to share quiet moments and simple joys, I just might be your perfect match.    Biscuit is part of our Senior Soulmates Program. If I’m adopted by a senior citizen, a generous donor will sponsor my adoption fee, and I’ll come with six months of heartworm prevention to help us start our life together off right.     If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion to share quiet moments and simple joys, I just might be your perfect match.    All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   January 9, 2026, 8:27 pm

Story
Meet Tzatziki! This handsome fella is a 65 lb. hunk and around 8 years old. He is a confident and independent dog that doesn't demand to be the center of attention, but is happy just to be in the presence of people who love him.  He likes everyone and is always polite when meeting new people, but reserves his true love and loyalty for his family.  Once you've made his inner circle he will happily curl up next to you on the couch or at your feet, and will be your permanent taste tester and plate cleaner extraordinaire. Tzatziki would be perfectly fine as an only dog, but can also coexist with other dogs that allow him to be the alpha of the pack. He doesn't require much exercise and is happy to lounge in the yard, but also enjoys a nice walk and is great on leash. He is crate trained and can occupy himself with a good chew toy or a nice long nap.   Tzatziki is currently going through heartworm treatment and is doing great! He is looking for a foster to adopt home that is willing to provide him with a soft couch and lots of love while he finishes his treatment (vet care is at the expense of the rescue until cleared for adoption.) Heartworm treatment protocol is rather easy for an older dog like him; leash walking to go to the bathroom, and relaxing indoors without much activity- which he happens to be quite good at anyway!  If you want to get a jump on adopting this handsome fella, submit an application today!  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. Story
Sweet miss Stacy can't wait to be your new best friend. She loves being near her humans and is great at meeting new people, kids and adults alike! At 40 lbs and around 9 years old, she has the perfect demeanor for cuddling on the couch, which she could do almost all day with a good chew toy and her human companion. She's excellent with cats and good with most dogs, although she would do fine as an only dog. If you like taking walks she's ready to go, but she is also perfectly content to hang out in her yard and play an ocassional game of fetch. She's great at napping in her crate and is a wonderful listener who just wants to make her people happy.       All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.
