Name: Joy Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 13 weeks old (as of 1/15) Best Guess for Breed: Lab Mix Weight: About 10 lbs (as of 1/15) Lives With: Dogs and people! She’s met kids and does great. She’s young enough to learn to cohabitate with a kitty too. Housebroken? Yes, she’s potty trained. Story: Joy and her brother Kringle were rescued from a shelter in North Carolina. We are so happy to have them safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Joy is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Joy is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Joy will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Joy might be the best behaved foster I’ve ever had. She is equal parts playful and snuggly, and has dangerously effective puppy eyes. She is potty trained and even in a new space, knew to sit at the door to let us know she needed to go potty. She willingly waltzes into her crate, but she does prefer to be somewhere near her people. She is pretty good at settling down by herself. She is quickly learning the do’s and don’ts of puppy life, so when she attempts to chew something she shouldn’t, a quick correction sets her back on track. She knows how to sit and we are working on “paw” and “drop it”. When she meets new people, she has the most perfect wiggle I’ve ever witnessed… it’s how she’s earned the nickname “Noodle”! She’s good in the car, and great on leash - curious but smart enough to observe new surroundings before diving in. She’s currently in a home with two large dogs who she loves very much, and she is friendly and gentle with small children. She hasn’t been exposed to cats yet.  The fee to adopt Joy is $475. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. If you think that Joy might be your perfect match, apply today!January 27, 2026, 4:45 pm

Name: Mac and Cheese Sex: Male Estimated Age: About 1-2 years old Best Guess for Breed: Yellow Lab Mix Weight: About 55 lbs Lives With: Dogs, cats, kids and all people! Housebroken? He’s potty trained. Story: Mac and Cheese was rescued from a shelter in Alabama. We are so happy to have him safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Mac and Cheese is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. He knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with his humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Like all dogs, Mac and Cheese will need an adopter who is committed to setting him up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising him both mentally and physically. He will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Mac and Cheese is a sweet boy that loves comfy spaces to lounge, scratches behind his ears, a good squeaky toy, and any treats you’re willing to share with him. He is highly motivated by food and learned “sit” very quickly. He hasn’t had any accidents in the house and does pretty well on leash (though he could use some additional leash training to help with squirrel distractions). Mac gets along with other dogs and people. He has short bursts of energy, but really just wants to hang on the couch (I have been redirecting off the couch I case his forever humans are not dogs on the couch people). He’s also doing really well with his crate training - he’s starting to go in without being coaxed and will now walk in if I pint and say “go”.  He knows he’ll get a little treat when he does. He’s a really good boy and will make the best family member! The fee to adopt Mac and Cheese is $475. That covers the cost of all his vaccines, his neuter, the collar he’s wearing, his transport to DC and his care in his foster home. He’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. If you think that Mac and Cheese might be your perfect match, apply today!January 26, 2026, 11:32 am

Story
Ready to bring the noise? Meet THUNDA! Thunda is a loving, goofy, high-energy sweetheart who’s equal parts storm and sunshine! This athletic, playful guy has a heart as big as his zoomies and a personality that lights up every room. He’s housetrained, sleeps soundly through the night, and knows plenty of commands like sit, down, bang, up, wait, and come here—proof that he’s as smart as he is fun! Thunda loves toys (especially soft ones he can tear apart), long walks, and tug-of-war sessions. He walks well on a harness, though he can get a little overexcited when he spots another dog or animal—he just wants to say hi and play! He’s done great being left alone in his crate for a few hours and settles calmly when you’re away. Thunda also rides nicely in the car once he’s cozy in his covered crate with some treats. This social butterfly doesn’t have a mean bone in his body—he’s all love, kisses, and tail wags. He’d thrive with an active family or a doggy friend who can keep up with his joyful energy. If you’re ready for a loyal, affectionate companion who brings excitement wherever he goes, come meet Thunda—just be prepared for a little thunder and a whole lot of love! Story
Meet Kilo!Kilo has a big personality and even bigger energy. This young guy is smart, athletic, and eager to engage with the world around him—he just needs the right guidance and structure to help him shine. He would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the day or willing to work gradually on alone-time confidence. He’s friendly, takes treats gently, and is easy to leash, but can get overstimulated. Kilo truly needs an understanding, committed person who’s ready to invest time and patience in him. In return, you’ll gain a loyal, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than to be with his people and has so much potential. You can find more photos and video of this wonderful pup online here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/35yVcV9oMVZWwepr5

Story
Arlo is a high energy, lovable boy. He is a best friend. He is excited for you, for other dogs, kids, people, at all times. Too excited sometimes! He struggles to socialize in an acceptable manner and he comes off as aggressive but really he just want to lick any dog or person he sees. He is funny, smart, and very cuddly. He has been my best friend for 3 years.
