APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. CHARLIE is a 60# white Lab. DOB 12/29/2021…about 2 yrs old. He is a happy camper… loves everyone and all dogs. Because of his size he is a bit rambunctious. I would not put him with a small dog as a companion. He does need training. He was found wandering the streets in the county/country. He was about to get hit by a car as he kept crossing the street. A good friend called me really quick and I said “sure”, bring him over. He had no collar and no microchip. My friend tried to find the owner but to no avail. We figured he was probably dropped out in the country as a way to get rid of him. So, he is now available to be someone’s really great and fun companion. I have not tested him to be house trained and he does think cats are great to chase and pester. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
Sheila came to the Prince George's County Animal Shelter as a stray. Although little is known about her background, she suffered some kind of neurological injury in her past that has limited the use of her front left leg. Lovepaws stepped in to rescue her so that she could get the medical evaluation and care needed. Sheila's front left leg is not weight-bearing, but she is still extremely mobile and plays, runs, and zoomies just like other dogs her age. Lovepaws has had her evaluated and believes the best plan of care for her at this time is a custom prosthetic for her affected leg in order to preserve normal function of her other three legs so that they don't carry more weight than necessary. We're in the process of getting a custom prosthetic made for her, but in the meantime, her leg does not hurt her or slow her down at all. We thought Sheila would be fairly immobile given her leg but that is absolutely not the case! After she felt comfortable in her foster home, she started having epic zoomies, running up and down the stairs, challenging the other dogs to sprints in the back yard, you name it. She is *incredibly* speedy and brave given her situation as a functional tripod. It is really a sight to see. Sheila's dream day would begin with listening to the radio with her humans while they drink their coffee. She would then move on to running sprints in the backyard with other friendly dog pals (or humans, in a pinch), collecting toys to store in her crate, chewing on a Nylabone covered in frozen peanut butter, and sleeping in her crate with several fleecy blankets and all those toys. Sheila is an absolute charmer. She loves being with her people and other dogs and is happy to enjoy active play or a snuggle on the couch. Despite having only partial function in her front left leg, she is a fast runner and loves to zoom around a fenced yard. She parties hard and sleeps hard too - right through the night! Sheila is friendly and gentle, and is both house- and crate trained. She also loves going for walks through a quiet neighborhood, although she's still getting the hang of the leash. As a young dog, she does exhibit some puppy behaviors and would benefit from continued training, but she is a quick learner. An ideal home for Sheila could include any or all of the following: a human who works partly from home; another dog or two for company; and/or kids -- she has been great with children 2 and up! Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Submit an application here! February 24, 2024, 4:08 pm

Story
Male, 5 months old, 33 lbs Good with: Other dogs Not tested with: Cats, Kids House trained: Mostly, with an occasional accident Energy level: High Noise level: Loud I'm Louie, and I'm a big ball of energy with a lot of love to give! I absolutely adore chew toys, playing fetch, and getting those zoomies out. A good game of tug is right up my alley. However, I have to admit, I'm not the biggest fan of my crate. My training level is a work in progress, and I could use some help with crate training and mastering basic commands. Despite the occasional accident, I'm mostly housetrained. My positive traits include being leash trained, loving toys, being playful, affectionate, and intelligent, with a touch of goofiness. I do enjoy vocalizing my thoughts, and I've been described as rambunctious and a bit mouthy. Separation anxiety is something I'm working on, so a patient family committed to providing structure and training would be perfect for me. I get along well with dogs who match my energy level, but I'm not sure about kids or cats. While having a yard would be convenient for my frequent potty breaks, it's not necessarily required if my family is dedicated to giving me the appropriate exercise. I'm looking for a patient and committed family who can match my high energy and provide the love and structure I need to thrive. If that sounds like your home, I can't wait to meet you! My foster guardian says: “Louie is a big ball of energy with a lot of love to give! He gives aggressive puppy kisses, enjoys spending time with his person and provides the best snuggles once he settles.” Likes: chew toys, fetch, zoomies, playing tug Dislikes: my crate My ideal home: I would do best with a patient family who's committed to providing structure and training, and a fairly active family who can meet my exercise needs. Adoption Application : http://bit.ly/adoptrdr Foster Application :  https://rdr.formstack.com/forms/foster_app   My adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter Surgery (unless I'm too to young!) Story
Meet Annabelle (fka Popcorn)! Annabelle is a cuddler extraordinaire! She's very soft and she loves attention... can you tell by that face?! She is very quiet: no whining or barking. Annabelle is housetrained and only chews on her toys. She is a young girl with lots of energy, so she'll need a yard or at least 2 long walks a day. Foster mom takes her on a 2 mile walk before work and Annabelle is good after that. She gets along with her 4-legged foster brother, but not a toy sharer, at this point. She does need a little work with resource guarding (food and toys) and learning how to be a good leash walker. Annabelle is just about perfect and with a little love and patience, she'll be there in no time! The adoption fee for this dog is $350 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. Petconnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system.
