Story
Hello! We got our yellow lab JJ from a breeder in Long Beach California in 2015. He was born in May 2015. He is 10 years old. He is a really sweet dog who loves to be snuggled. He has been around a cat his whole life and loves to play with other dogs. We have two young children who he loves. My husband and I are going through a divorce and due to financial reasons and my son with special needs, I can't take care of him the way he deserves. Hoping he can find someone who loves him and gives him lots of snuggles.

Story
FOGGY's Story Est. DOB: 12/02/2023 Weight: 50lbs Adoption fee: $99 Foggy is a stunning, spirited young lady who made an incredible journey — from the sunny beaches of Mexico all the way to the forests of the Pacific Northwest — in search of her forever family. With her velvety-soft fur and sparkling, curious eyes, she’s sure to capture hearts everywhere she goes. This adventurous girl is full of life and loves being in the middle of the action. Whether it’s a rowdy game of tug-of-war, a romp in the yard, or simply joining in on family fun, Foggy is happiest when she’s busy and engaged. She thrives on human companionship and would love an active family who will make her part of their everyday adventures. Because of her enthusiasm, Foggy would do best in a home with kids 12+ (she may get a little too excited for the smaller ones). A securely fenced yard is a must for her zoomies and outdoor play — apartment living just isn’t her style. She can also be vocal when excited or seeking attention, so a family who understands her spirited nature will be the best fit. Foggy is brimming with love and energy, and she’s eager to learn. With continued training and guidance, she’ll channel her zest for life into being the best companion anyone could ask for. If you’re looking for an affectionate, adventurous, and lively addition to your family, Foggy just might be your perfect match! Thanks to a generous sponsor, her adoption fee has been reduced. (Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment.) Story
PADDINGTON BEAR's Story Est. DOB: 08/19/2025 Adoption fee: $500 Paddington Bear was born in a boarding kennel, where he spent much of his early life sleeping on a concrete floor. During that time, he had non-contagious demodectic mange that went untreated, resulting in some hair loss and skin irritation. Thankfully, he is doing great and continues to thrive with proper care. Paddington Bear is an adorable retriever puppy with a sweet, thoughtful nature. He can be a little cautious and shy when meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar environments, but with patience and reassurance, his playful and loving personality quickly shines through. He enjoys gentle play, quiet moments, and staying close to the people he trusts most. Curious about the world, Paddington learns best at his own pace and responds beautifully to kindness and encouragement. Based on his current weight, he is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog (30lbs), making him a wonderful fit for many households. Paddington would do best in a calm, nurturing home (with another dog) that will help build his confidence and celebrate every small victory along the way. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will truly blossom with love and reassurance, Paddington Bear may be the perfect addition to your family. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment. Puppies will be spayed/neutered prior to going home. Our adoption process and application can be found at - https://www.sunnyskysshelter.org/our-adoption-process Note: Breed descriptions are provided as a general estimate based on the dog's size, shape, and appearance. Story
Ruger was sold to me as a chocolate lab but as he’s gotten older he hasn’t gotten much bigger, as you can see. This isn’t the reason for his rehoming but it’s a fun guessing game to try and figure out what else he is mixed with. I have recently been laid off and have a baby due next month so I am unable to continue to pay for him. He’s UTD on shots and will come with records along with rabies certificate. The rehoming fee is to ensure a good home and recoup at least some of his vet costs. He’s been around my 3 year old daughter and 4 year old cat. He sometimes tries to chase the cat but with correction stops immediately. He is a cuddle bug and just wants to be by your side. Would love a home with a yard :) and I think he would thrive with a friend too but not required!
