Hi, my name is Hudson and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since Sep 22, 2023. New people and places can be a little scary sometimes, but when I warm up you’ll see my personality bloom! I know that with you by my side, you’ll see my confidence grow every day. I would love to go through life with you as my person!

Hi, my name is Hooch and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since Aug 28, 2023. “Play” is my middle name! Fetch, tug-of-war, frisbee – I’ve done my research and I love it all! Playing together and having fun, followed by curling up at your feet or on the couch would be my absolute ideal day.

Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. In foster in W WA BUDDY is one of the sweetest and obedient dogs we have ever met! Yes he is large, about 70 lbs.. He has just turned 2 yrs old. He is house trained, fairly good on the leash, we use a gentle leader. We have him as a Lab mix.....just best guess. He is more slender than most Labs... His best quality is that he is loving, and affectionate. He doesn't try to dig out, climb out, or chew up anything. He's also not a yapper... barks some but only when necessary. :) He would be a great dog for a family with children. He gets along great with other dogs. He will need exercise every day...how about hiking, running, etc? You can exercise him a lot but he does NOT require it. He even played super insanely gently with a small breed puppy. Yes, typically we would not have a dog his size with a small dog, but they were closely supervised and we were amazed how gentle Buddy is! Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DZqo3QdfWQ see how gentle he is with a feisty 8 lb chi puppy! The puppy is nipping at Buddy and he is super gentle with the tiny puppy! typically we would never put a dog his size with such a little pup, but Buddy is that good! You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to WA/OR. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/ This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. CAROLINA is a beautiful and happy Black Lab mix. She has just turned 4 yo but you wouldn't know it. She is happy and active. Wants to go everywhere with everyone. She gets along great with other dogs even though she could be a bit overwhelming with her enthusiasm. She will be great for a family with kids...lots of kids. She arrived to ACS in Laredo with a litter of pups (old enough to wean) so they were separated. She was skinny with dull hair... and she was an adult dog...so she didn't have much future there. I was asked...begged...by one of the ladies who helps there to take her. I couldn't say no. After I received her, she went immediately to be spayed then spent 2 weeks recovering from the spay and getting good nutrition. What a difference. She then got to join the other dogs in the "Big Dog Pen." She started a new life of FUN! What a difference! Now it's time for her next stage in life... a family (or person) to call her own!! She came so close to having her life cut short... Now it's time to LIVE and move on. CAROLINA has not had training...but her great personality makes up for it. Now it's time for her to be trained and learn the rules. Is that something you can do? She is not appropriate for an apartment. She is too large with too much energy. She would be excellent for the active person that lives to bicycle, boat, swim... What A DOG!!! This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You can ask us about how pre-adoption works and our "trial period." If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060.
