Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. ZIGGY is adorable…a real BIG TEDDY BEAR Lover. He is probably a Lab/Boxer mix. DOB 7/2/21 (4 yrs old). He weighs 78#...and is definitely 10-15# overweight. He needs less food and more exercise. Ziggy is a big boy but very affectionate. He is crate trained and house trained. He does well on the leash…but occasionally will pull when he’s interested in things. He loves being with other dogs…very playful. He ignores the cat. He loves all people that come up to him. He needs an active family and older children… 10+ ...to throw the ball and give him exercise. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You can ask us about how pre-adoption works and our "trial period." If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to WA/OR. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/ This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
In foster near Tumwater, WA Lab/Hound is the closest breed we can guess on her, She is house trained! .10-12 months of age the vet guessed. Pita is a gentle, maybe a year-old Lab/Hound mix who has come a long way since being rescued from a hoarding situation in Texas. Now safe in a loving foster home near Olympia, she’s discovering what it means to feel secure, cared for, and part of a family. She is potty trained! This sweet girl is on the shy side and can be slow to warm up to new people—although some people she is comfortable with asap!. Understandable given her past—but once she trusts you, she blossoms into an affectionate, playful friendly, loyal companion who loves nothing more than curling up next to someone on the couch. She looks like she wakes up and puts on eyeliner every morning and can melt your heart with her big brown eyes. Pita currently lives with two children (ages 5 and 9) and has been gentle and patient in her foster home. Still, because of her timid nature, she would thrive perhaps in a quieter environment with adults or older kids maybe over 7 or so who can give her the calm, steady reassurance she needs. She also tested fine with cats in Texas. She walks well on a front clip harness. If you’re looking for a soft-hearted, soulful dog who just needs a little time and love to shine, Pita may be the perfect match. She’s ready to start her new life—could it be with you? This is the link to apply to adopt. https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ Currently ALL dogs we have posted from Lufkin-Kurth Texas are not only human and dog friendly but cat friendly too! She is not totally 1`00% confident yet, so perhaps no toddlers who can run/scream, perhaps older children which would be a calmer home. Likely she would adore being with another dog. We were informed Bo is his brother. Many dogs are impossible to say the breeds but it is anyone's guess. As we know, mutts statistically speaking will live longer and have less vet bills!. All of our Lufkin Kurth Texas dogs were hand selected and are literally their favorites. Everyone who has adopted adores their dogs. She will totally win you over. , Please do apply!!! All our dogs are spay/neutered, current on DHPP and rabies shots, microchipped, tested hw negative, so all of that is done. Our adoptions include professional dog rescue transport to WA and health certificates (vet visit just prior to coming to WA). Any questions, please email us at shaynesrescue@gmail.com Best to include your phone number and good times to call too!

Story
Meet Alfredo Age: 2.5 years (March birthday) Gender: Male Breed: Mixed – 30% Labrador, 30% Great Pyrenees, 18% Pitbull, and other mixes (DNA results available) Why He’s Looking for a New Home Alfredo was adopted through NW Wag Rescue as a tiny puppy after being found in the desert of New Mexico with his mom and seven siblings. His current family has given him a wonderful start and invested time, training, and love into him. However, due to his size, strength, and reactivity around other dogs and strangers, they feel he would be happier and safer in a different environment. With two young children at home and a busy neighborhood, it has become clear that Alfredo would thrive in a calmer, more suitable home. His family loves him deeply, and this rehoming decision is based on what’s best for him long-term. Personality & Temperament Alfredo is a loyal, affectionate dog who adores his people. He’s equally happy adventuring outdoors on runs and hikes or spending the day lounging and snuggling on the couch. He’s very attached to his family, following them from room to room, and he thrives on closeness and attention. He is protective of his home and family, barking at noises or new visitors. With unfamiliar people, he can be nervous at first—barking and growling—but with patience and calm introductions, he warms up and turns into a total sweetheart, often rolling over for belly rubs once he feels safe. Alfredo is sensitive to loud noises (especially fireworks) and prefers peaceful environments over crowded, noisy places. He enjoys running and zooming in the yard but isn’t interested in fetch or most toys. He does, however, like chew toys, treats, and people food in moderation. Behavior with People & Animals Kids: Alfredo has been excellent with the two young children in his family. However, due to his reactivity and size, it is recommended that he live in a home without young children for safety and comfort. Dogs: His behavior depends on the setting. At daycare, he does wonderfully, playing with groups of 30–50 dogs and even boarding without issue. At home or on walks, though, he can be reactive—barking, growling, or lunging at other dogs. He once got out and scuffled with a passing dog but was quickly called back and no injuries occurred. Cats: He hasn’t lived with cats. On walks, he tends to bark and pull toward them. Training & Habits Leash trained: Yes, though reactive toward other dogs at times. House trained: Very reliable and signals when he needs to go out. Crate trained: Yes. Sleeps in his crate most nights and stays crated if left home longer than an hour. Sleeping arrangements: Usually in his crate, occasionally in bed with his family. Health Alfredo takes 40 mg of Fluoxetine daily to help manage anxiety. Healthy overall with a strong stomach. Ideal Home Alfredo will do best as the only pet in a calm home with a securely fenced yard. His ideal adopter will be someone (or a couple) who has time to dedicate to his exercise, training, and, most importantly, affection. Because of his protective and anxious nature, a quieter area outside of dense city life is recommended. In return, Alfredo will give endless love, loyalty, and companionship—along with the bonus of being a natural guard dog. Strengths Loving, affectionate, and submissive with his family Athletic and well-trained Loyal and protective Low-maintenance lifestyle (happy to lounge or adventure) Areas for Growth Managing anxiety and nervousness Reactivity toward other dogs while on leash Please fill out an adoption application to get in touch with his current family and to learn more about him and schedule a meet and greet. Rehoming fee $200 ##2532613##

Story
Meet Dolca — A True Warrior with a Gentle Heart Name: DolcaAge: 3 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 22 kg / 48 lbsBreed: Labrador mixColor: Black with light yellow tonesCoat: Short Health & Training Spayed Vaccinated Heartworm negative Leash trained Potty trained Crate trained Social Skills Good with dogs Good with kids Not cat-friendly Daily Life Dolca currently lives in a foster home alongside other rescue dogs and shares her space comfortably. She sleeps on a dog bed in a designated area and settles well into routines. She is clean in her foster environment and is expected to transition easily into a home setting with consistent house rules. Temperament & Personality Dolca is a true survivor — strong, resilient, and deeply loving. Despite everything she has endured, her gentle and joyful spirit shines through. She is sweet, playful, and social, thriving on companionship with both people and other dogs. She enjoys outdoor activities, playtime, and being part of everyday family life. Her easy-going nature makes her wonderful with people of all ages, including children. Dolca has completed professional rehabilitation and training with a trusted trainer who works closely with our rescue dogs and spends part of the year in Oregon. She comes with a solid foundation in basic obedience, good manners, and leash skills — truly a well-rounded companion. Whether you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy or a loving family dog, Dolca is ready to give her whole heart. Dolca’s Ideal Home Dolca would thrive in a stable, loving, and moderately active home where she is treated as a true family member. Her ideal home includes: Individuals or families who enjoy walks, outdoor time, and shared activities A home with respectful children or adults who value companionship Friendly resident dogs (a bonus — she loves canine friends!) Continued positive routines and reinforcement of her training A nurturing environment where she feels safe, loved, and included Above all, Dolca is looking for a home that honors her resilience, encourages her playful spirit, and cherishes her gentle heart every single day. Dolca’s Rescue Story Dolca’s journey is one of incredible survival. She was rescued near a local market when she was just three months old — badly injured, motionless, and so terrified that her rescuer initially believed she had already passed away. She hadn’t. Dolca was frozen in fear. She had been attacked by a group of children who threw stones at her and struck her on the head with a bottle, causing severe injury to her eye. With urgent medical care and dedicated love, Dolca made a full physical recovery. Sadly, after her rescue, Dolca was placed in what was believed to be a safe adoptive home. It was later discovered she was being mistreated again. Terrified, Dolca escaped — and that was when her rescuer learned the truth and brought her back to safety. This second betrayal left deep emotional scars. Dolca became fearful, hyper-vigilant, and distrustful, living as though danger was always near. Knowing she needed more help, her rescuer enlisted the support of a professional trainer. For a year and a half, Dolca worked patiently through emotional rehabilitation. Slowly, fear turned into trust. Anxiety softened into confidence. Pain gave way to joy. Today, Dolca is once again who she was always meant to be — sweet, playful, intelligent, and deeply affectionate. She is finally ready for the life she deserves. Dolca has suffered more than most, yet she still chooses love. Now, she’s waiting for the family who will choose her back. Adoption Details Dolca is currently in Mexico and will travel once a foster-to-adopt or trial commitment is in place. Adoption Fee: $600 Apply at: www.northwestwagrescue.org If you’re ready to open your heart to a truly special dog, Dolca is ready to meet you. ##2090184##
