Say hello to Leo. At only 2 ½ years old, little Leo has been shuffled around between 3 homes before being surrendered to PK. He is a Maltese mix and weighs around 15 lbs. Leo is sweet and likes to be held and carried. He may have some hearing issues and therefore would do best in a calm home without young kids, as they may startle him. He is potty-trained and was trusted to roam freely while being left alone during the workday. Leo loves other dogs – even big ones! He is also good with cats. Leo will need regular grooming. Meet Gizmo - Gizmo is a 1-year-old male Morkie (Maltese Yorkie Mix). He weighs 8.6 lbs. Gizmo came to us from a commercial breeding kennel. He is a very sweet dog who loves to snuggle and hang out with his humans. He currently is living in a foster home with another small foster brother and 2 other large older resident dogs and gets along well with all. He is playful and would do well with a playful dog or could be your one and only. He would be happy either way. Gizmo was very sweet with all the young children and teenagers he met at an event recently so a home with children would be fine. Since Gizmo is in a home with a fenced-in yard, leash walking is an unknown at this point. He comes when called so he would do fine with a yard without a fence. He is still working on potty training, and it’s been a process that is ongoing. Gizmo will let you know when he needs something and once his needs are met, he remains quiet. He likes to have a snack at bedtime and will sleep quietly in his crate, and his crate remains dry overnight. Cats are also an unknown, but he had no reaction to the cats he encountered at the rescue office. Gizmo has been neutered, microchipped, UTD on shots and started on a heartworm preventative. Meet Gilly! This sweet 6 year old Maltese is the total package! She is gentle, sweet, happy, and affectionate. She enjoys laying on her foster mom's lap, going for walks, and lounging by the fire place. Gilly came from a farm, but is loving life as a house dog! She is almost completely house trained, with only one potty accident since coming to her foster home! Our Gilly girl likes to go for walks, but does pull mildly. She gets along with other dogs, ignores cats, and doesn't mind small animal pets. Gilly would be happy as the only pet in the home, or with animal companions. Gilly is too ladylike to roughhouse with rowdy young dogs, and much prefers her calm foster siblings over the rowdy ones. Gilly is currently crated when her foster mom goes away, but is very well behaved and could likely graduate to having a dog safe space without a crate once adopted. My sweet Linnie 💗 Linnie is a 10 year old Maltese little lady who was time stamped at ACCT Philly. Her owners surrendered her to the shelter because it was obvious by her breath that she needed a dental and they said they could not afford it. The team at Zoe’s House, with the help of our wonderful community, got her free of the euthanasia list and into a loving foster home. She was determined to have a serious heart murmur but with medication, she was cleared to undergo surgery to be spayed and to have a dental where the diseased teeth were removed. It was also determined that Linnie has some mammary masses, likely from not being spayed early in her life, which are likely cancerous. Her heart and age caution against the prolonged surgery to remove these masses. Linnie is on a daily heart medication and gabapentin for any discomfort. Linnie is unbothered. She is a lady who knows what she likes and what she wants. She enjoys her meals, long naps thereafter and loving in between. She travels fabulously in the car and walks well on a leash. She loves a pup cup 😋She is house trained and cares not for the crate. She doesn’t need it. She is a true lady who is just hoping to enjoy her golden years close by her human. She is being fostered with other small dogs and tolerates respectful interaction but she would love to be the center of your eye and heart. She is a joy❤️ Linnie is being fostered in Collegeville, Montgomery County. A home visit and meet and greet with all residents is part of the application process.
