Maybe a Unicorn family so to speak? I’ve been called “A terrible dog”. Unpredictable and just plain crazy. People just haven’t been able to understand my quirks. I’m nothing but misunderstood!! I do need some time to adjust as something in my past has left me very nervous. My human mom passed away and I was put into the system. I’m used to a quiet and peaceful home. My human foster sister is my most favorite person ever and her mom is pretty nice too. If you have patience and lots of love I’m your guy! Am I a bit of a challenge? Maybe!! Am I cute as cute can be? Definitely!!, Am I worth the effort? You bet I am!! I am an adorable and smart little boy. When I like you….I would do anything for you!! If I don’t, then I’m a bit of a tiny Jerk!! Investing your time and love into me will be so worth it!! I promise!! I am good with other animals. I get along with all sizes and ages of dogs. Spike is a handsome maltipoo mix. He can be a little shy at first, it takes him a minute to trust someone and warm up. But once he does, you have best friend for life! He is a very happy cuddly dog. Spike has the most fun natural blonde Mohawk that just adds to his charm! DOB 5/8/24 and around 25 lbs. Spike prefers a home without cats and, honestly, would do best as the only furry companion. He can be a bit of an attention hog and doesn’t like to share his favorite human! He would also do best in a home with no kids or kids over 12, who will respect his personal space while he adjusts to a new environment. Meet this sweet senior gentleman! ❤️ This laid-back little guy is the definition of easygoing. He’s happiest lounging by your side, soaking up attention, and enjoying the simple things in life. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, making him a great addition to a multi-pet home. He’s also pee pad trained, making him an easy companion to care for. His story began when a kind Good Samaritan found him wandering the streets alone and brought him to VEG South Loop. From there, Border Tails Rescue welcomed him into their care, and he has been thriving in foster care. Like many senior pups, he does have a few medical needs. He has a heart murmur and a seizure disorder that is managed with medication three times a day. Despite these challenges, he doesn’t let them define him. He’s a happy, affectionate boy who enjoys his routine and continues to live life with a wagging tail. He’s looking for a compassionate family who understands that sometimes the very best dogs just need a little extra care.
