Story
15 yr old, 12 lb Min Pin MALE for HOSPICE ADOPTION Jasper Gem is an adoptable hospice dog and the newest member of our sunset club Our sunset club is for animals who have an estimated 6-12 months of quality time left, before they will be ready to shed their bodies and gain their wings to fly over the rainbow bridge. So he is looking for his very own earth angel who will give him all the love and comfort he deserves for his final chapter. Our sunset club was created because no animal deserves to spend their final moments alone and scared anywhere near a cold shelter floor. If you like seeing us take these types of dogs into our rescue, then please help us get them in front of people to find them homes. We cannot take more if we cannot get them adopted. This absolutely adorable dear old man is a 13-year-old 11 lb Min Pin Mix that came to us from San Jose Animal Care Center He has an estimated 6 months (could be less could be more) with us on earth before he will be ready to take his journey to the next adventure. Due to heart disease This is what his foster mom says about him- “Jasper is a really sweet older dog. He walks slowly and carefully so walks aren’t his thing, at least for now. He has limited hearing and vision, but quickly sorted how to get around the house. His first few days here he would randomly bark, but that has mostly stopped. Jasper appears to be house trained (we have had a few nighttime accidents). He will bark at the door to let you know when he wants in or out. He enjoys laying outside in the sun, and will search out sunbeams in the house to nap in. He is a very good eater, even with no teeth. He easily takes his meds (heart and pain) when they’re inside of his wet food. He also happily accepts treats any time. He sleeps all night in his dog bed. He doesn’t like to be crated. He gets along fine with the other dogs in the house (mostly ignores them). He’s been indifferent to my 9 year old granddaughter. After a week of being here, he is starting to feel a bit more comfortable. He doesn’t seek me out for attention or pets, but does like to lay on a dog bed nearby. His favorite thing is a full body rub.” If you are able to open your heart to offer this much deserving boy an amazing final chapter, please send us an email to beourpet@gmail.com. Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and given any additional treatments (dental work, bloodwork etc) as recommended by our vet. Adoptions to veterans of the US Armed Services are ALWAYS free to thank you for your service. We thank Well Pet Vet Clinic for providing most of our veterinary services and give a special thanks to volunteer photographers Tanya, Barbara, Kristy, Christine, Teressa and Natalie.
