Story
✨ Meet Beau! ✨(Short for Ram-Beau 🐾)This adorable 1-2 year old gorgeous Miniature Pinscher weighs just 8 lbs and is full of love! Beau is a happy, affectionate young guy who adores his people and enjoys snuggling &#194&#151 but he is also a young, dog with a need for a doggy playmate, structure and basic training. He deserves a home that understands and embraces a playful, active, sweet young dog, not just a lap companion.🧠 Training & Adjustment:Beau is doing great with crate and potty training in general but he is still learning. That said, any young dog will need patience, consistency, and a routine when transitioning into a new environment. Temporary regressions are normal, and adopters should be prepared to guide him kindly as he settles in.🐾 Social & Activity Needs:Beau loves to play with other small dogs and would ideally thrive in a home with another playful canine companion or an adopter who enjoys interactive play, enrichment, and regular activity and playdates with other dogs regularly. While Beau is not aggressive with cats and lives with them, he can be overly enthusiastic &#194&#151 he tends to fixate, chase, and try to play, which can be stressful for many cats. A dog-friendly home (and no cats, or very dog-savvy cats with strong boundaries and training from experienced owners) would be the best fit.He is a gentle kind guy and and happiest when he's included, engaged, and given appropriate outlets for his energy. He's recently neutered, fully vetted, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on vaccines & flea prevention ✔️📍 East Bay, CA📝 Important Adoption Note:We take placing our dogs very seriously. Incomplete or vague applications will not be considered. We need to understand the home, lifestyle, and heart of any potential adopter to ensure Beau is placed where he will thrive for life. Thoughtful, detailed applications are essential.👉 Apply at: www.k9ppr.orgJanuary 21, 2026, 12:53 am

Story
We got her from the animal shelter. They told us she was almost a year old. We have had her for three years. She may be around four years old. She is great with people. Recently has not been the greatest with our one year old puppy that we have had for a year. Gets territorial. Should be the only pet in the house with someone who can give her lots of love. She is very sweet, cuddly, and loves to snuggle on your nap. We are sad to let her go but it will be better for her to be the only dog. Hoping to find the right family for her. She is also great with kids of all ages. Absolutely loves my daughter.

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $650 Applesauce is a delightful little 1-2 year old Min Pin who weighs about 14 lbs and has personality to spare! She came to us from the shelter a bit unsure of the world, but in a short time she has truly begun to blossom. As her confidence has grown, so has her joy for life, play, and connection with her people.   Applesauce starts her day bright and early around 6:30 a.m. with a potty break, followed by breakfast and one of her favorite activities: a long morning walk. She happily accompanies her foster family on the walk to the school bus stop and then continues on for a full, active 45-minute stroll. She’s energetic and enthusiastic at the beginning of walks and may pull a bit out of excitement, but she settles in after the first 10–15 minutes and becomes a calm, pleasant walking companion. She mostly ignores other dogs she passes, enjoys greeting some people, and squirrels and birds are very exciting to her.   After her walk, Applesauce is content to relax at home. She’ll chew on a toy, play for a bit, and then happily curl up on someone’s lap for a long nap. She strikes a nice balance between playful energy and mellow downtime throughout the day. In the evening, after dinner around 6:30–7:00 p.m., she revs up again with playful bursts and indoor zoomies, showing off her fun and silly side. Her day winds down with a final potty break around 9:30 p.m., and she sleeps in a crate in the bedroom, usually settling in easily and sleeping through the night with minimal disruption.   Applesauce is a playful dog who loves her toys and enjoys a good chase game. She’s also a devoted cuddle bug and can happily spend an hour snoozing on a lap or curled up in her dog bed after exercise. She has bonded strongly with her foster mom and tends to follow her from room to room, earning her the affectionate title of “Velcro dog.”   She can be sensitive to unfamiliar noises in the home and will bark or growl when surprised, especially if she’s been sleeping. She’s also shown some uncertainty around men, particularly when caught off guard, though she does warm up with calm, patient interactions and is perfectly happy to cuddle once she feels safe. Applesauce would benefit from a home that understands she’s still settling, continues positive reinforcement, and helps her build confidence at her own pace.   Applesauce has interacted appropriately with teens and younger children, though her enthusiasm and tendency to jump straight up when excited may make her a bit much for very young kids. She hasn’t lived with other dogs in her foster home, but she lived in a room with several other dogs while at the shelter.   She’s made great progress with house training and now reliably signals when she needs to go outside— she’s even started using a bell, though that skill is still a work in progress. She does not use potty pads and prefers going outdoors. She’s crate trained for nighttime and understands that the crate means bedtime, though being crated during the day while her people leave is something she’s still learning and improving on.   Applesauce is smart, eager to please, and very treat-motivated. She already knows sit, down, and paw, and is currently working on come, stop, and stay. She learns quickly and clearly enjoys training and engagement. She’s also an enthusiastic chewer and will need durable toys and enrichment to keep her happily occupied.   Overall, Applesauce is a fun, affectionate, active little dog who would thrive with a family that enjoys daily walks, playtime, and interactive companionship. She loves being part of the action, soaking up attention, and sharing life with her people. If you’re looking for a playful, loving companion who will make you laugh, keep you moving, and reward your patience with deep loyalty and affection, Applesauce may be the perfect match.January 28, 2026, 5:06 pm
