NAME:TagSTATS:Male, Min Pin, 10 years, 10 lbs.TEMPERAMENT:Shy at first and when he feels safe, he is your best snuggle buddy..SKILLSPotty trained.Crate trained.Leash trained.Older children only.Good with dogs.Good with cats.Would make a great hiking buddy.MORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Couch cuddler.Likes walks.Needs patient owner willing to work on behavior (see details below).ONE LAST THING:Tag is a gorgeous red Miniature Pinscher. He is shy at first with new people. Once he gets to know you he is a snuggly sweet guy. Tag is very sensitive and smart. He is coming out of his shell and amazing transformation. He loves to snuggle. He loves to curl up right on top of you or beside you and just enjoy his time with you. He has been great with dogs that are similar to his size and adapts quickly. He's also got the basics down (kennel trained, potty trained, gets along with other animals) and is ready to find the perfect home. He's pretty vocal when it comes to telling you what he wants. For example, he will bark or whine near the water dish, door (for potty), or food when he wants it. He's so smart and picks up on things pretty quickly.Tag needs time to adjust and decompress in new situations. He is quite skittish and weary of new people. Because he is skittish, he would do best in an all adult home or a home with older, patient children. Loud noises or quick movements make him nervous, so patience and a semi-quiet home would be best.March 27, 2024, 11:15 am

Story
This is what Niner's foster had to say about him:"Cute little Niner was quite a surprise on our field trip today - he is a super fast runner and top notch walker! He rode well in the car, very excited about looking out the window and eager to start our outing. With his tiny little body and super long legs, he sprinted in large circles on the lawn, barely touching the ground. At one point he flew around me in tight circles, just overcome with joy. We walked about 3 miles and he never got tired. I would insist that we stop for periodic breaks and rest on a bench - he would sit on my lap for about 2 minutes, then jump down, give a little whine, and want to keep going. He didn't seem to have much of a reaction to other dogs we saw, just a few barks, then eagerly back to the task at hand - walking! At first he didn't seem too interested in me, but after we got back to the car, he hopped into my lap for a long cuddle session. Niner would make an ideal companion for someone who already walks daily or is interested in having an enthusiastic exercise partner. Niner is a happy, well adjusted little guy who generated a lot of interest from other park visitors, eliciting smiles and comments about how cute he is. What a dear little guy!"Staff has noted that this cute little guy absolutely LOVES curling up in laps, and he's not overly particular about whose lap it is! Story
Miniature Pinscher / Terrier Mix Age: 5-6 yrs old Male, neutered 16 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Murphy was found abandoned on the streets of Newark. He was in pretty bad shape - neglected, possibly abused, skin issues, matted fur, etc. At the shelter he was shutdown, fearful, untrusting. The Tri-City Fremont Shelter reached out to us for help. Murphy is an interesting / complex little guy. He is constantly seeking attention from humans (any human that will pet him). At the same time, he will occasionally give signals that would make someone think that he doesn’t want attention. He walks well on a leash. He is unsure about some types of handling, but our experienced foster home has been able to put a harness on him, pick him up, bath him, etc. But it takes time for him to trust someone before he is comfortable. He does well with other dogs, and he has been in a foster home with cats, birds, chickens, reptiles. Even though his appearance screams “Yorkie” or “Norfolk Terrier,” his DNA results show mostly Miniature Pinscher and Jack Russell Terrier. We have no idea where his long silky fur came from. Murphy needs a forever home that will give him the time and patience to continue learning to trust humans again. He needs an experienced, confident adopter that can read his mood and interact with him accordingly. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13, However, in Murphy’s case - an adult home only. Story
Our Dr. Seuss is named for one of the author's lesser known characters: the Leggy True Boo of MinPinAroo, a high-spirited imp with an infinite capacity for fun. In the book he's a gigantic blue marsupial. In real life, he's an itty bitty chocolate brown min-pin with red spots and splashes. He's a Guys! Guys! Guys! guy who bounces, skips, sambas and break dances through life, kissing, playing, and leaping into laps. He stops and rolls for tum rubs, snuggles and high fives. He takes walks and hikes, sometimes more than once a day. The technical term is "active senior. The reality is "peppy loverboy with puppy vibes and a taste for adventure". Adopt him and have it all!
