Story
Meet Tizzy! This sweet girl is bonded to Maxie and they've landed an amazing foster home together, which has helped us learn more about this pair. Tizzy and Maxie are super sweet, affectionate and pretty chill dogs. They love to snuggle in the same bed and curl up together to sleep, or seek out a spot next to their humans on the couch. They are gentle with treats and will follow you everywhere you go in the house like little ducklings. They are dog friendly with other dogs and enjoy running around in the backyard, playing chase with their foster siblings. They are (mostly) potty trained, and are making quick progress, so we expect them to pick this up no problem with some consistency. Their initial encounter with one kid didn't seem to bother them, so they would likely be happy living in a family environment. They both could use some extra training to improve on their leash manners, but are learning to walk well when wearing harnesses without too much pulling. In just a week, they have learned their names and have great recall, so they have a lot of potential to pick up on training with some love and consistency! Does this pair sound like a fit for you? Please call 707-459-4900 for an appointment to meet them.

Story
Meet Carter, a spirited red Miniature Pinscher with a heart full of energy and charm! Despite his age, Carter remains incredibly spry and loves to stay active, making him a perfect companion for an energetic household. He is highly social and thrives on interaction, always eager to make new friends. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate pup to brighten your days, Carter is the one for you! Here's some notes from his foster: Carter is the sweetest boy! As his previous foster mentioned, "curious" is the best word to describe this busy little guy. He does a lot of exploring around our apartment and is always following us around to see what we're getting up to. He LOVES walks (he knows what that word means for sure) and is able to go very long distances (up to 6 miles so far!) After some adventuring, he is content to sleep and cuddle in his bed or on the couch next to you for the rest of the day - the best of both worlds! Carter has a lot of behavior and energy similar to a puppy. I think some people looking for a senior dog might be surprised at his youthfulness. Carter is a little nervous at first, but warms up easily - he needs a gentle touch at first to gain trust and then will be a big ball of love. Carter has not shown any leash aggression or any other concerning behaviors - we went to a few parks so far as well. He is curious about some dogs on walks and will start heading their direction and has sniffed appropriately, never lunging. For the most part, he is so intent on the walk and whatever is ahead of him that he barely registers many of the dogs we encounter! After only a few accidents the first couple of days, Carter seems to be housetrained He goes right to the door to ask to go outside. We left Carter alone for about 30 minutes and heard no barking - he was calmly laying on the couch when we got back. So far we have gathered that he knows his name, “Sit”, and “walk”! Potentially “treat” as well :) Carter has really started showing us more of his funny personality after being with us for a full week - it is amazing to see how comfortable he has become in our home with a little love. He is so playful and loves to run and be chased in our small yard. He burrows in every blanket he can find. He will be your constant companion and bring such fun and joy to his forever home!!
