Ryan, Neutered male, 1 Year 11 months, 29-Lbs. If you would like to give RYAN a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application About Ryan: Ryan is a good-looking young pup with calm temperament; he is docile and submissive by nature. He is very food motivated, so is easy to train. Despite his young age, Ryan is well behaved, with no barking or chewing issues; and he is crate trained to sleep overnight. His favorite pastime is hanging out with doggie pals in the park and the daily walks. Ryan is loyal to his master; he could be a little shy when introduced to strangers, but is easy-going and comfortable around familiar faces. He gets along well with dogs and cats. Ryan will be a great companion pet if he got chance to be your family member. Please watch his video to learn more about sweet Ryan. Ryan’s rescue story: Like other strays, puppy Ryan was under the feeding of volunteers for the first five months of his life, until one day he was injured by a car. Treatment for him in the hospital was successful and he soon resumed normal activities and stayed in the shelter until he was one year old. When he was finally put under the care of a foster family, Ryan was very timid and skittish, but showed great improvement in socializing in just a few months under the care of his foster family. Now he’s fully adapted to the busy streets in the city and can walk confidently when lead by a leash. Story
Meet Raptor! Hes an adorable 6-7 month old min pin puppy… This boy is so full of love when he opens up and trusts you! He has the goofiest and sassiest personality, which shines through in everything that he does. He is a very sensitive soul that is quite insecure and is not going to be a dog that will want to go with you to crowded restaurants or very busy public places. He is looking for an adopter that is ready to put in the time to continue his confidence building and help him continue to grow and feel safe in his environment. He will do best in a quiet home without many visitors. He loves other dogs, and does really well with cats! He Is crate trained and does well in the home . He would love a doggy sibling too. If you are interested in meeting please fill out an application at our website: www.gobeyondrescue.org/adopt Our adoption fee is $450 and includes spay/neuter, microchipping and up to date vaccines. We adopt within 200 miles of San Francisco.

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $500 Rutabaga is a 7 year old Miniature Pinscher mix who was surrendered to us when her family was moving and was no longer able to take care of her. Rutabaga is the kind of dog that takes a bit of time to warm up to you but then she is your one and only forever. If you are looking for an older (golden) gal who still has a TON of love to show the world, Rutabaga is your girl.  Below is a note from Rutabaga's foster. 'Rutabaga is the kind of dog that takes a few days to come out of her shell but once she has, she is the biggest snuggler and cuddler I have ever met. She follows me absolutely everywhere (but she isn't clingy). When I have to work she is happy to sit on her bed and play with a toy, but her ideal spot is sitting on my lap and having me pet her for hours. The funniest thing we discovered is that she is more likely to want attention when we are giving it to someone else, then she is like 'me me me!' Rutabaga wakes up around 7 AM and heads out for a 15 minute potty walk. She has breakfast and then spends some of her morning lounging around while I get some work done. She gets another walk in the middle of the day before another nap. She gets a long walk in the evening before having dinner and settling down for the evening. Rutabaga has gotten along well with big and small dogs alike. I don't think she thinks she is as small as she is, because she has that fearless big dog energy that only small dogs seem to emulate. Rutabaga likes a walk but she is totally a couch potato dog when we let her hang out on the couch.  My favorite thing about Rutabaga is when she wants attention she will stand on her back two legs to try and show off, but then she loses her balance and sometimes ends up toppling over onto a soft bed nearby.'   Rutabaga is only an option for those who have owned a dog in the past 5 years, with emphasis placed on those applications who have experience with shy dogs. Kids in the home should be over the age of 10 and on the quieter side, as she is a smaller gal who needs a bit of time to warm up to new people and loud kids could freak her out. June 14, 2024, 12:20 am

Those who know the Min Pin breed will recognize the personality just bursting out of Duke, even from his pictures! Like his name suggests, this royal pup knows how cute he is and he struts his stuff to show it! Below is a note from Duke’s foster.  “Duke is a very smart and curious pup. He loves to cuddle and he loves to play. He adores his squeaky toys and can keep himself occupied for hours if I am working and can’t toss his toys for him. He loves to roll around in his dog bed. He is such a goofy dog with so much personality, even though he is very small.  Duke wakes up around 8 AM and gets his morning walk and potty break. He comes inside for breakfast and then snuggles in for a morning nap. He gets another potty break around noon and likes to hang out and play with his toys throughout the afternoon. In the evening, he gets a longer walk and has dinner before watching TV with us. Bedtime is at 10 PM and he sleeps in his crate. Duke has not had any accidents with us. Duke is learning his leash manners with other dogs on walks. He gets very excited when he sees other dogs outside but takes corrections well. He could live with another dog, but he would love to soak up solo love from his forever home. He loves all the adults and kids he has met. He is going to be such a good companion for his lucky new family.” Duke is only an option for those homes who have owned a dog previously. Children in the home should be over the age of 15.June 14, 2024, 12:20 am

Story
If you're a fit senior dog, you probably recognize Kitchenette from her beloved show, Elder Stretch Now! on PBS (Pup Broadcasting Service.) She gave up the gig a while ago with a bit of cataracts, but swore never to retire from the things she loves: wiggling, wagging, kissing, prancing and snuggling. And she hasn't. She's still a sleek min pin full of vim and vigor with a stratospheric Q rating and a smile that won't quit. Bring her home, then take her to yoga. Here's some notes from her foster: Kitchenette is the most loving and cuddly dog. She won our hearts from the first second we saw her. She's well house trained but appreciates going out for walks 3 times a day. She's got a lot of energy and is an active senior mutt. She loves a brief run during walks, especially through grass. She seems to have endless energy and can keep up with an entire afternoon out (e.g. we've taken her out with us to the farmer's market followed by lunch and she didn't seem to mind). At home, she doesn't seem too interested in toys and prefers to hang out with her humans. She's also a bit of a goofball and loves rolling around on the carpet and under her doggy bed. Overall, she's energetic, loves keeping up with her humans and has a ton of love to give

Story
A little lady who was once into breaking hearts and taking names is now looking for a heart she can treasure and a person she can count on. Moneypenny is great at keeping plants alive and making sure your life stays organized. She is a people pleaser, a dog lover, and a cuddle connoisseur. If you're ready to upgrade your life and share eternity with the most lovely miniature pinscher to ever wag her way into your heart, adopt Moneypenny today! Here's some notes from her foster: Moneypenny is such a good girl. she comes when called! She is good off leash! She loves her person and is very loyal to them. Moneypenny enjoys a good nap and likes getting cozy. She loves sleeping under blankets! She has ample energy to go on walks with her person. She is a friend to all: old people, kids, and everyone in between! She loves approaching strangers in the park for pets! Moneypenny is already potty trained! We go out a few times a day and she's never had an issue holding it. She looooves to cuddle right next to her person (she is always glued to my side on the couch or bed!) She Is interested in other dogs we meet but doesn't seem too enthusiastic about puppies. She loves cats! She is very spry for 11. Goes up/down my three flights of stairs, can jump on my bed/the couch. She Obsessed with food (as evinced by her chunky stature.). Gets excited to go outside and to eat, she does lots of play bows and will jump up and down, which is very silly!

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog E:5Are you looking for your ride or die? Say howdy to Howdy! This young pupper loves stuffy toys, knows “drop it”, and how to sit for treats. While he has gotten along with other small dogs at the shelter, it’s human attention that he craves! He is never happier than when in the arms of a loving friend. Like many dogs in the shelter, he can be anxious and often seeks reassurance from volunteers. Howdy is also an expert climber (part mountain goat?) though his acrobatics are motivated by his desire to be with the people rather than to run away. Howdy will do best with an adopter who is looking for a best friend to spend lots of time with or in a home with multiple family members who can shower him with all the love and attention he deserves. He is vocal when it comes to sharing his opinions so would do better in a house than an apartment.  June 14, 2024, 2:11 am
