Story
Meet Peter! Peter is a small, white Mini Schnauzer mix with a lot of personality packed into his little frame. Rescued from the shelter just in time, Peter has been given a second chance at life, and now we’re looking for his perfect forever home. Peter’s ideal adopter is an experienced dog owner who understands that some dogs need a little extra care and patience. Peter has shown some bite tendencies, and while we’re working with a trainer to understand his triggers, it’s important to be mindful of his boundaries. He doesn’t like being picked up and prefers not to be pet unless he comes to you first. When he feels safe and comfortable, Peter can be snuggly and affectionate—but it’s always on his terms. He is good with other dogs, so a canine companion could be a great fit for him. However, because of his biting history, Peter should not be in a home with children. Peter isn’t just a dog—he’s a work in progress who needs someone willing to invest time, patience, and love into helping him thrive. In the right home, Peter’s personality will shine, and he’ll reward you with loyalty and companionship. If you’re the experienced, patient adopter Peter needs, please fill out an application on our website. Peter is waiting for someone to see the good dog he truly is and help him live his best life. Once he warms up, Peter is incredibly affectionate and loyal. He would do best in a quiet household with adults or older children who understand his need for patience and kindness. If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted companion, Peter is ready to meet you and start a new chapter in his life!

Meet Spinner  (and no, we don't get the name either) Surrendered to the shelter with this name already attached, and we have SO many questions. Does he spin? No. Chase his tail like a top? No. Turn the yard into a racetrack? Also no. Somebody, please explain yourselves.  Here's what we DO know: Spinner is a whopping 75+ lb of pure love, 6 years old, neutered, and handsome as all get out. He's billed as a doodle-ish mix, but give this guy a haircut and he could pass for a mini Irish Wolfhound.  The Spinner Rundown:  Loves car rides  Totally fine home alone while you run errands  Comes to the gym with his foster and just... vibes, soaking up all the attention  Cat-approved — the foster home's resident cat is his ride-or-die bestie The catch: Spinner does best as an only dog. He's picky about his fellow woof-woofs — didn't love sharing space with the foster home's two very submissive dogs (one a 100+ lb actual Irish Wolfhound, the other a Great Pyr/Lab mix). But give him a human, a car, and maybe a cat? He's set. Is Spinner your dog?  Apply at eapl.com — adoption fee $375   August 30, 2026, 10:02 pm

Story
Meet Minnie! Minnie is a sweet 5-year-old, 12–14 lb black-and-tan Poodle with a playful personality and a heart full of potential. She loves crackly toys, entertains herself with adorable zoomies, and will keep you smiling with her silly antics. Minnie has lived successfully with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion, though she also enjoys simply being near her people. She is crate trained and has moderate energy, making her a wonderful companion for a calm home that can provide structure and patience. Minnie is still learning important life skills, including house training and walking on a leash. Because leash walks are very stressful for her, she is looking for a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely exercise, play, and build confidence. Minnie is naturally very shy and easily startled. Quick movements, unfamiliar situations, and sudden changes can frighten her, and it takes her time to build trust. While she enjoys being around her people, she is not a cuddly lap dog at this stage and prefers affection on her own terms. Her ideal adopter will understand that earning her trust is a journey and will celebrate the small victories along the way using gentle, positive reinforcement. Because of her sensitive nature, Minnie is looking for an adult-only home or one with older teens. She is not a good fit for a home with young children. Minnie's ideal home: Securely fenced yard No young children Patient family committed to continuing her training and building her confidence A calm, predictable environment Plenty of toys for playtime and zoomies If you're looking for a sweet, funny little companion and have the patience to let her blossom at her own pace, Minnie is ready to find her forever family. ##2784540##

Story
Shorty is a 12 year old poodle mix, adopted from a shelter at 4 years old. We don't know much about his early life. Shorty is ready to retire from family life- our kids are too loud and rough with him and he has exhibited some anxiety-related behavior like having accidents in the house. When he did a trial run with an older couple, he had no accidents- we think this is an environmental issue. He has never bitten anyone. He has lived with dogs, not sure about cats, is fine being an only dog. He is leash-reactive, meaning he needs distance from other dogs when on walks- not a puppy play date or dog park kind of dog. An experienced owner living in an apartment or owner with a fenced yard would be best. He is affectionate with kids but nervous at times-we prefer a no-kid home, he's looking for a quiet house to chill. He is healthy and up to date with vaccines, could lose a little weight.Owners should be familiar and comfortable with grooming needs and expenses of poodle breeds.
