Story
Tina is a sweet, gentle miniature poodle, estimated to be around 12 years old. I adopted her in 2021, and she’s been my constant companion ever since. Despite her age, she still has bursts of puppy-like energy. She’s incredibly affectionate, friendly, and hilariously clumsy. She's got a lovable, quirky personality that wins people over instantly. She’s anxious by nature, scares easily, often shakes for no apparent reason and needs a lot of comfort, love, and reassurance. She would do best in a calm, quiet home with someone who’s around most of the day—ideally someone who works from home or is retired. FYI, she's up to date on all her medical care. In April 2025, she received her 3-year vaccinations, had a full dental cleaning, and a few extractions. She's in great shape for her age and still has so much love to give. If you feel like you might be the right person for Tina, I’d love to hear from you.

Story
Betty is a 6lb, 11+ year old SUPER SWEET Poodle.  Too often seniors are dumped at overcrowded shelters for many different reasons.  It could be because their owner has passed or they are unable to care them anymore, or often they have become "useless" or "too expensive" for their humans and are thrown away like yesterdays trash, easily replaced with a new, young puppy.  Dogs give their whole lives to their humans and their loyalty is unmatched, they deserve the same from us.  We try very hard to rescue as many senior dogs as possible, and find them a human that cherishes them for who they are and the love they have to give - even in their senior years.  Dogs often deserve so much more than humans give them, and we work tirelessly to make sure they get what they truly deserve.   Betty was surrendered by her loving humans family when she was unable to take care of her anymore, and her humans family could not be bothered to take care of Betty.  Betty was terrified and confused, trembling in a terrifying shelter without her Momma fir the first time ever.  The shelter reached out to us to get her out as quickly as possible because they knew she wasn't doing wel and may not make it out of there alive.  Once we sprang Betty from the shelter she immediately melted into her foster Momma's arms, as if she knew she was safe and going to be okay.  She made her way to CO on a rescue flight where she got to ride front seat in the pilots lap the whole time.  Betty has now been in CO a couple weeks and is ready to find her forever family.  She is a senior girl, and it looks like she may have some cloudiness in one eye - which comes with the territory of being older for dogs.  She seems like she is in great health and has a long life ahead of her.  She is the sweetest, most amazing little dog and her foster Momma has nothing but good things to say about her.   Her is what she has to say about her: "Betty couldn't be any more perfect.  She seems to be potty trained and she's super friendly.  She loves having an open crate to go hang out in but would much prefer to be on a humans lap 24-7.  A quiet household would be ideal for her to relax and snuggle all day long.  She gets along just fine with other dogs, but would prefer to chill and receive belly rubs and love all day long.  She would be perfect for someone who is looking for a low-key best friend to spend their days with.   If you are interested in adding Betty to your family, please fill out our adoption application at Brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2299915##

Story
Julius is a sweet, spunky 2 year old poodle (maybe mix?).  He was found as a stray in a field in Kansas.  The area he was found in is a common dumping area for unwanted dogs, so we weren't surprised when nobody came for him at the shelter.  Here is what his foster has to say about him:  "Julius is a little shy at first, but warms up fairly quickly. He loves everyone but is particularly fond of men. He would be a great addition to and active home. He loves to be outside and would make a great hiking or walking buddy. He gets along great with dogs of all sizes and has not show much interest in our cat. He currently sleeps in a crate covered with a blanket and has done really well and sleeps through the night, but he is also a huge love bug and would probably love to snuggle with his human if thats an option.  He even goes into the open crate during the day and takes naps, it’s his safe space and he does love it.  He is a great little dog!" Story
There's nothing quite like young dog sweetness and silliness, and then they put their beautiful heads quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm breath. These gorgeous pups are so pure and vulnerable with their whole lives lying in front of them, that it's unbearable to think of them in a compromising or unsafe situation. Scout is a sweet as can be 3 - 4 year old, 11 lb Yorkshire Terrier / Miniature Poodle who is just waiting to be the love of someone's life. Farfel's can't swear to the accuracy of his breed mix as no DNA test was done. It was the opinion of Texas veterinarians and we're going to stay with their educated guess. Scout is starting out with great energy. While initially just a bit shy due to all the changes in his life, this sweet guy is blossoming in his foster home. Now at 3ish years old, Scout's self esteem is growing every day as he learns that he's a very valuable guy that has so much to offer a dog-loving family. Scout's non-shedding coat was filthy and matted when he arrived at the shelter. This necessitated a complete shave down to the skin. Scout couldn't have been happier with his new freedom from deep mattes that finally allowed him to move without pain. This gorgeous guy will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are perfect lifelong protocols for general longevity and coat care to keep Scout's hair super-healthy, shining and cottony soft. Scout is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his age. He's also very loving and cuddly once comfortable in his new environment. This snuggly little guy would be very excited to be a couch potato and snuggle with his favorite people at the end of an active day. it's clear that this pup is SO smart and very sweet - very typical of the Yorkiepoo personality. Some would say this breed mix is among the most lntelligent and cuddly in the dog world. Since Scout is just a young guy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome and loving best friend. Scout will form firm bonds with his family and learn socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement (force-free) Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a young dog's ultimate behavior and in his relationship / bonding with his people. It does take time and commitment, yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free training classes. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Scout out to a home that doesn't choose to offer him this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person positive reinforcement / force-free trainers in your area. Farfel's is open to Scout finding his forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart young dog. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for a pup that would love nothing more than getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Scout enjoys his relationships with all humans. We would prefer, however, to place him in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment by a young child will create a dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can also be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development. Scout will be up to date on his vetting / vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to support Farfel's commitment to a euthanasia - free future in the canine population. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet as can be pup. An adoption application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Scout, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
