Story
Hovi is 3 years old. He was received at 12 weeks old and has been with the same owner for that duration. He is a lovable, energetic dog, whole loves to play and cuddle. Very sweet boy, extremely smart. He would benefit from a family setting with kids or other dogs because of his energy level. He would also do well with a yard or other means of stimulation.

Paula gets along beautifully with other dogs and she doesn't mind sharing the love. She’s looking for a patient, loving home where she can blossom into the pampered companion she was always meant to be. If you’ve got a gentle touch, a soft blanket, and a space on your couch (and in your heart), Paula would love to be your girl.     Don't delay—apply today and give this sweetheart the loving home she deserves!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. Story
Meet Eli!  This handsome guy was rescued along with his daughter, Bella, from the working life of dogs that belonged to a breeder.  To this man all the dogs were simply property.  Eli spent 10 years living life in a crate only being handled when he was 'needed'.  You would never know this sweet boy merely existed.  He shows none of the scars you would expect him to have.  Eli is a very sweet and loving southern gentleman who is slowly learning to live life as a pet.  He is adjusting to fresh air and grass.  Both of which were a truly new experience for him.  He began going outside only because he wanted to stay near his foster mom.  Now he happily walks around the yard and joins Bella and his other foster brothers and sisters for a little sunshine.  Eli is a very smart boy and is already housebroken.  He is also doing a great job walking on a leash.  Eli's favorite place is either in the chair curled up or louging on the back of the chair.  He is able to see everything from that perch.  Eli is ready to find his forever home.  He has plenty of years let to enjoy the good things that life has to offer.  He is looking for a quiet home full of patience and understanding.  He needs a family that will be there for him but allow him to adjust and blossom and his own pace.  You won't be sorry if you add this gentleman to your family.  To be considered for his forever family and to request an application. please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Eli is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)  No small children.  October 13, 2025, 5:11 pm

Story
Beautiful Bella and her dad, Eli, were rescued from lives as working dogs for a breeder who treated them as property. Poor Bella had been bred so many times during her eight years of life that her insides were severely swollen and infected. Critter Cavalry arrived just in time to save her from a painful death.  Bella is now happy and healthy as she slowly adjusts to life as a pet. She is a very smart girl who just wants to be near you. While she is not needy, she is keenly aware of where her foster mom is and likes to see her. Bella has learned to use the doggie door and is now housebroken. This process was easy for her because she follows her foster mom everywhere.  The most challenging hurdle Bella has faced so far has been discovering the freedom of the outdoors, along with the sensation of soft grass beneath her feet, which felt strange at first compared to the concrete she was used to. Learning to sleep with her foster mom was extremely easy for her; she thrives on the closeness and warmth. Bella will be a loyal companion for the right family. She needs a quiet, loving home where she feels safe and is treated with patience and understanding. At eight years old, Bella is not old for a poodle—she has a lot of life left to live and much untapped love waiting to be shared with her new family. (Please note: no small children.) If you are interested in considering Bella as a permanent member of your family and would like to request an application, please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com. An approved application and adoption fee are required. Bella is currently in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.November 7, 2025, 4:19 pm

Story
Rooster is our surprise puppy born to a very young 10 month old Poodle Bichon girl who was given as a gift to her owner and very soon she was not a wanted dog. She was given as a girl paired with another male from the same breeder.   They were not neutered or spayed as they should have been and the mom, Sassy, the mom, was soon pregnant after her first heat.  Rooster and his brother Goose have been pampered and loved ever since they were born. Rooster is a happy, confident pup who is the leader over his brother.  He is eady for adoption this coming November 22nd and Critter Cavalry Rescue is eager to find his perfect family  His mom and dad weigh 11 pounds and so will Rooster. At 3 months he weighs 5 pounds.  We expect the weight range to be 14 pounds when fully grown.  He is not potty trained  yet due to his young age, but he is very socialized and very sweet.  He has been around large dogs and cats in the foster home and he loves to meet new people and be held.  The ultimate Fluff Puppy!!  please write to us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  We transport from Nashville, Tn and he could leave on Nov. 22nd to come northward.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 29, 2025, 3:20 pm

Story
Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet shy girl seeking love and safety!MARTINA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Martina and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Dec. 7th) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria, VA (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)!   Name: Martina       Best Guess for Breed:  Poodle mix  Best Guess for Age:  4 years as of June 2025         SEX:  Female    Approximate Weight: 38 lbs.   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living At: DC area foster     Check out the story of Martina and Lilly Ann Here: https://www.instagram.com/p/DRPeiE8Ecff/     What My Foster Says About Me: Martina is shy at first but very curious about humans and longs to cuddle with you on the couch or in bed. Like her sister, Lilly Ann, she had a traumatic past but Martina is the braver of the duo, and brings Lilly Ann out of her shell. After only a few days in foster, Martina was snuggling our dogs on the bed and coming up to me on the couch to be pet and praised. Martina was a very scared dog when she came into our care but gets confidence from her sister Lilly Ann and they are available to adopt as a duo! Martina does well in the house, shares food and toys well and enjoys other dogs. She walks well on leash, though needs a backyard to play in as well.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.    Special adoption considerations:   Martina was rescued from a breeding operation that is shutting its doors.  She has not been well socialized with new people and has lived her whole life with other dogs.  New nosies, cars, bikes, and other things may create fear and anxiety.  She will need a patient adopter who can give her time to come out of their shell and learn that the world is a wonderful and welcoming place.Because she is shy, she must go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes. The home must have a fenced yard. She can be adopted with her sister Lilly Ann as well, but it is not required.   Martina is Looking For: Her forever home, filled with snuggles and opportunities to see the world outside of a kennel. One where she is a cherished part of a family. She's very sweet, shy, and SO ready to be a Real Dog.    Martina thrives in a quiet home with a routine. Extra patient and loving humans who introduce her to new places and people at her pace and a welcoming resident dog who will show her how to dog are high on her wish list! Along with quality kibble, a cushy dog bed, and endless snuggles.    You know what you get out of adopting a dog like that? An incredibly sweet and grateful dog who gives you all those adoring gazes, all the love and loyalty in her body, for all her days. What do you say? Is she the one for you? Are you her new chapter and forever home? TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
