Name: Martina Best Guess for Breed: Poodle mix Best Guess for Age: 4 years as of June 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 38 lbs. Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Like her sister, Lilly Ann, she had a traumatic past but Martina is the braver of the duo, and brings Lilly Ann out of her shell. After only a few days in foster, Martina was snuggling our dogs on the bed and coming up to me on the couch to be pet and praised. Martina was a very scared dog when she came into our care but gets confidence from her sister Lilly Ann and they are available to adopt as a duo! Martina does well in the house, shares food and toys well and enjoys other dogs. She walks well on leash, though needs a backyard to play in as well. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. Special adoption considerations: Martina was rescued from a breeding operation that is shutting its doors. She has not been well socialized with new people and has lived her whole life with other dogs. New nosies, cars, bikes, and other things may create fear and anxiety. She will need a patient adopter who can give her time to come out of their shell and learn that the world is a wonderful and welcoming place.Because she is shy, she must go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes. The home must have a fenced yard. She can be adopted with her sister Lilly Ann as well, but it is not required. Martina is Looking For: Her forever home, filled with snuggles and opportunities to see the world outside of a kennel. One where she is a cherished part of a family. She's very sweet, shy, and SO ready to be a Real Dog. Martina thrives in a quiet home with a routine. Extra patient and loving humans who introduce her to new places and people at her pace and a welcoming resident dog who will show her how to dog are high on her wish list! Along with quality kibble, a cushy dog bed, and endless snuggles. You know what you get out of adopting a dog like that?
