Story
Looking for a new home for our schnauzer mix, Mina. We are devastated to have to her go but are moving overseas in April and won’t be able to find an apartment that allows dogs. Mina is a fantastic dog. She’s fully house trained, does not shed, loves walks and playing fetch, and it’s just as good at snuggling as she is at minding her own business and laying low. She has a sassy, smart schnauzer personality. She would prefer to be the only dog in the home but can get along with other animals if needed. We adopted her when she was six years old from a shelter that found her in Wyoming on the streets. I do not know her backstory, but I’m certain she had previous owners because her tail is docked. Mina is predicted to be about 11 years old, but she is still incredibly mobile, loves to play fetch, many people confuse her with a puppy. Please reach out if you are interested in meeting Mina or learning more about her.

Story
Jake is a 2-3 year old, 20lb Schnauzer/Poodle mix (maybe? we don't actually know his breeds, it's all a guess).  Jake was found as a stray and dumped a shelter in Kansas.  He was with a couple other dogs when he was found but was the least terrified out of all of them.  The shelter reached out to us in hopes we could bring him into our foster program and help him come out of his shell and learn how to be a dog.  He has now been with us for a couple months and is ready to find his forever family!  When he was first found he was super matted and had a thick, dirty coat so he was completely shaved down.  His fur is starting to grow out again.  He has super soft, fluffy fur, and seems to be mostly non-shedding, but we cannot guarantee he is hypoallergenic since we don't know his background.  He will need regular grooming appointments though to keep him looking handsome and feeling great.   Jake has really started to blossom and learn all that life has to offer as a loved and cherished dog.  He seems to be a dog who picks one human to really bond with.  He follows his foster dad around the house everywhere and loves to snuggle with him.  He would do great in a lower key home with a human or humans who will be patient with him and let him learn to trust them at his own pace.  We know he will bond with his forever human the same way he has with his foster dad, he just needs to be given the time to do so.  He does well with cats and we will require he goes to a home with another dog so he can continue to learn from the behaviors of a confident dog.  Jake does great on a leash and is learning to loves walks around the neighborhood, romping around the backyard with the other dogs, and snuggling up with the other dogs and his foster dad during down time.   If you are interested in giving Jake a forever home, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2433456##

Story
Caramel is a sweet, mature gentleman who enjoys the little things in life. He is an easy going guy who gets along with dogs of all sizes and cats. He would be equally happy as an only dog. He is great with house training if let out adequately. He’s quite content to snuggle up next to you on the couch and just be near his humans. He’s also fond of his tennis ball and a light game of fetch. He is crate trained but prefers his humans’ company. He really is a perfect mild mannered buddy and would be perfect for a retiree. Caramel is estimated to be 10 years old. He is 32 lbs. He joined MHCR from a hoarding case in New Mexico. Caramel is ready to go medically and has had extensive dental work making him all set for his retirement home. Caramel is in foster in Mead, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/caramel You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
My mom first acquired Zodo about 7 years ago. Unfortunately, as my mother has aged, she is unable to continue caring for Zodo. It has been a difficult realization for her. Zodo is 16 years old. She is a spry little thing for her age. Surprisingly, she is a very active dog. She has no known health problems except that she is missing some teeth. Zodo needs a home where she can come and go outside freely as she frequently needs to go outside to go to the bathroom. If Zodo needs anything more of, it's walking. My mom has been unable to give Zodo the activity she needs. I hope Zodo ends up in a home where she gets regular exercise, a soft bed to sleep in, and nice people to care for her.
