Story
Jake is a 2-3 year old, 20lb Schnauzer/Poodle mix (maybe? we don't actually know his breeds, it's all a guess).  Jake was found as a stray and dumped a shelter in Kansas.  He was with a couple other dogs when he was found but was the least terrified out of all of them.  The shelter reached out to us in hopes we could bring him into our foster program and help him come out of his shell and learn how to be a dog.  He has now been with us for a couple months and is ready to find his forever family!  When he was first found he was super matted and had a thick, dirty coat so he was completely shaved down.  His fur is starting to grow out again.  He has super soft, fluffy fur, and seems to be mostly non-shedding, but we cannot guarantee he is hypoallergenic since we don't know his background.  He will need regular grooming appointments though to keep him looking handsome and feeling great.   Jake has really started to blossom and learn all that life has to offer as a loved and cherished dog.  He seems to be a dog who picks one human to really bond with.  He follows his foster dad around the house everywhere and loves to snuggle with him.  He would do great in a lower key home with a human or humans who will be patient with him and let him learn to trust them at his own pace.  We know he will bond with his forever human the same way he has with his foster dad, he just needs to be given the time to do so.  He does well with cats and we will require he goes to a home with another dog so he can continue to learn from the behaviors of a confident dog.  Jake does great on a leash and is learning to loves walks around the neighborhood, romping around the backyard with the other dogs, and snuggling up with the other dogs and his foster dad during down time.   If you are interested in giving Jake a forever home, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2433456##

Story
Nala is a 2(ish) year old Schnauzer/Terrier mix weighing about 15lbs.  Nala was found as a stray in Mexico.  Our of our wonderful rescue partners down south was asked to take her in.  We knew Nala would find a wonderful home here in Colorado, so we agreed to accept Nala here in Colorado.  Nala has been here for a couple weeks now, and the most amazing, easy going girl.  She gets along great with all dogs big and small.  She absolutely loves to snuggle with her foster parents and give kisses.  She is doing well with potty training and follows the other dogs lead.  She is getting more and more playful with the dogs dogs in the foster home and is really just turning into the most amazing little girl.   If you are interested in adopting Nala, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2587250##

Story
Our beautiful Kiwi couldn't be sweeter (once settled in her environment) no matter how hard she may try. Kiwi is a 10 month old Schnauzer / Poodle mix (Schnoodle). Farfel's can't swear to this breed identification as it was the opinion of Texas vets and no DNA test was done. All we know for certain is that this gorgeous girl is irresistible and just waiting to be the love of someone's life. Fluffy smaller size dogs have grown tremendously in popularity over the past few years. It makes perfect sense in that they're known for their sweet temperaments as family dogs, cottony-soft, non-shedding coats and engaging personalities.. Farfel's makes an effort to rescue as many of these small mixes as possible with the confidence they will be sweet and loving family members. Kiwi has all these wonderful traits and is described by her Texas rescuer as an absolute love bug. Kiwi has had a challenging period of time but is now safe and sound never to be cold or hungry again. But with it all, Kiwi doesn't hold a grudge and desires only to be the best companion possible. Since this sweetie-pie is still a young girl, she's a blank slate open to all possibilities if treated kindly and with respect. Group training classes with her family and a positive reinforcement trainer would truly serve both Kiwi and her family (as it does every dog and their people). Together they will learn the skills to have Kiwi become a companion that is well-behaved in virtually all situation. It also creates strong bonds of love and respect between dog and family. Kiwi while initially a bit shy due to all the changes in her life, tends to be a happy-go-lucky girl who loves life and responds very well to love and time spent together (hugs and kisses are absolutely awesome), and of course some great treats are always a wonderful plus. Izzy gets very attached to those she loves and if given a bit of time and patience, will be on her way to her favorite people for belly rubs and kind words. Kiwi loves to come along (and is very portable at just 30 lbs) for a fun hike on a gorgeous Colorado trail, a game of fetch at the park or just socializing at home, Kiwi would love to be there as Companion #1. She has such a pleasant personality and is portable enough to fit in just about anywhere. Kiwi wouldn't be happy being alone if her person works full-time hours outside of the home. She is far too people-oriented to be content with that arrangement. A retiree or a younger person who works from a home-based office would be a great choice for Kiwi. She would love the periodic belly rubs over the course of the day. This is a lesson that results in a happy and confident adult dog. Kiwi has a non-shedding coat (or so we're told by Kiwi's rescuer) that's currently shelter-sad. Kiwi will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately ever 8 - 10 weeks) and excellent nutrition, A five star food and daily salmon oil supplement will bring Kiwi's coat back to the cottony-soft and luxurious coat that is consistent with her breed mix. Kiwi has been fully vetted and vaccinated to support Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to further our fight to end the overpopulation challenge in the canine community. Kiwi will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 12/20/025/. If interested in this very sweet and loving best friend please fill out an application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Kiwi please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thank you for choosing rescue!
