Story
Hi, I am looking to re-home Phoebe to a loving and patient individual or couple. She is an unbelievably sweet 3 1/2 year old rescue that needs an experienced owner. She weighs just over 40lbs, is strong willed, and has plenty of energy. She is docile around people, although she hasn't spent a lot of time with children, and after a long walk wants nothing more then to nap close-to (or on) the people she loves. Her one flaw is her reactivity. Smaller dogs are typically fine, but anything around her size or larger and she can become aggressive. In an ideal home she would be the only pet (although she has shared a tiny apartment with a cat) and be somewhere without regularly dog interactions. I would not be putting her up if it weren't for extreme circumstances. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like to meet her as she has so much love to give. Thanks!

I love walks (don't worry, I will not pull you!), car rides and am very comfortable in my crate. You will see that I love being inside and outside - love my comfy blanket (inside place) and watching squirrels, birds, other dogs. You will see that I love my owner(s) but get a little nervous around new people. If strange people give me space, I will warm up to them. I am 100% housebroken. I am looking forward to meeting you, Axle.

Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Hi, I’m Kitty. My foster mom calls me Kitty-Kat. She tells me that I’m a sweet, anxious girl, but I’m not quite sure what she means. It’s a scary world, and I just want to feel safe. I warmed up quickly to my foster mom, and I used to shy away from my foster dad, but now I love couch snuggles with both of them. When I wake up in the mornings, I check on what my foster siblings have been up to. They have a lot of energy, and sometimes it’s fun to play and run in the yard with them. I am building up my confidence every day. From my foster parents: Kitty is a special girl who struggles with anxiety. She is incredibly sweet once she adjusts and comes out of her shell, but she still exhibits anxious/reactive behaviors from time to time, such as: - Not wanting the other dogs to come near her food - Barking at strangers or if uncomfortable - Barking at slamming doors - Halting on a walk based on sounds that make her uncomfortable Outside of that, she is a loyal velcro pup who loves to play with both humans and animals alike. She loves to be pet and get belly rubs, playtime with her foster siblings, and just hanging out in my office while I work. Her snuggling skills are pretty fabulous, and she even shares snuggle space with other pups. Kitty would do well with someone who is gentle and patient with her, giving her space and time as she works through her transition period and beyond. Sometimes she needs a bit of encouragement and a nudge to get outside her comfort zone. She is more timid and fearful around men (shying away when they come near or walk past), but she can certainly adjust, as she’s shown us in our home. She is a very rewarding dog when she feels she can trust in her caretaker.

She loves to give hugs and will pretty much follow you around all day. She loves being outdoors just as much as she likes to hang out on the couch. She’s potty trained and crate trained, although she would much prefer to cuddle up in bed at night. She loves playing catch and carries her ball everywhere she goes. She does well with an active lifestyle where she can get all that puppy energy out.

I am a big sweetie who has a lot of love to give, but I need someone who is willing to be patient with me. I am a huge couch potato and love to cuddle up next to my person all day long. I am learning new tricks all the time; right now I know sit, stay, lay down and paw, and am working on skills to help keep me focused outside. I think I may be best in a more quiet, suburban neighborhood because I'm usually on high alert when I'm walking on the sidewalk. Right now, I do struggle to remain calm on the leash sometimes so I need someone who is willing to help me learn how to behave responsibly. I also love to run around as I am super speedy so I hope you're someone who loves to play. As soon as I know I can trust you, I am affectionate, super gentle, and will look for you in whatever room you enter!

Please reach out to us directly using the contact information on our website: www.muddypawsrescue.org. Squiggles is a super sweet and loving dog who loves to cuddle and wag his tail in an adorable fashion. He spends most of the day sleeping, his snoring is a nice background noise if you work from home. He gets bursts of energy with some zoomies! He's good at finding a toy to chew during an energy burst but sometimes needs some help redirecting. When he gets excited, he can get jumpy and mouthy but will stop if you walk away. He is very food motivated! At times, Squiggles will ask for attention by barking but will stop if you ignore it. Squiggles is independent and enjoys his crate when left alone. He is good on the leash although he is very strong and does not like long walks, but he does love to sniff along the way. He is interested in other dogs when he sees them, but does not engage. He does, however, love saving hi to people!

Toast is about 1.5 yrs. She was a stray before being in an animal shelter. She weighs about 37 lbs. Toast is a very loving and playful puppy! She is house trained but will have accidents every once in a while. She loves cuddling just as much as she loves playing, she absolutely loves playing with other dogs as well! I need her to go to a VERY loving and patient home. She still has tons of puppy energy and needs someone who is able to give her more time and attention than I am able to.

Story
Juno (4 years) needs a loving family in upstate NY! We adopted Juno at 6 months, and we've done our best to give him a comfortable life. But the city is tough for him, even in the residential neighborhood we live in. And with a second baby on the way, we're not sure if we can give him the attention he needs to thrive. His anxiety is triggered by most city things, including unfamiliar people, large objects, loud noises, anything on wheels. At home he's relaxed, and you'll find him lounging around or playing with our other dog. He also loves the dog park, where he has many friends. But he's definitely the happiest when outside the city. He loves hiking, running in open fields (he's fast!), and sticking his nose in everything. That's why we're looking for a family outside NYC and near the nature activities. If that's you, please contact us! Juno has all his shots and regular vet checks. He's trained and eats well. He's on anxiety medication, recommended by a vet behaviorist.

Story
We adopted Frankie from the animal shelter a year and a half ago, and have really enjoyed our time with Frankie. At this time, we need to rehome Frankie due to a family member coming to live with us unexpectedly. Our family member already has a dog and a cat, and we cannot have all three in our home. Frankie is very smart and house trained, he is full of energy and loves to be the center of attention. He also knows basic commands and is good on a leash and does not wander. We feel he would do best with one adult or a couple who could devote alot of time to Frankie. we would supply all the food, toys and crate we have for Frankie. Our hope is to give Frankie a great home, because while we are sad to have to give him up, we feel it is for the best. thank you.

Give a warm welcome to Fortaleza, an adorable 2-year old, 16-pound Dachshund/Chihuahua mix who is the absolute epitome of sweetness and serenity. Friendly and good-natured, Fortaleza gets along beautifully with humans of any age and dogs of all sizes. She doesn’t really play with other pups yet, but she is quite comfortable in their presence. She shares her possessions with ease, including beds and blankets, and doesn’t get territorial around bones, food or treats. She has a gentle mouth, a wagging tail, and she avoids drama at all cost. Fortaleza is 100% housebroken and walks like a pro on a leash. She has a fast-paced trot, great endurance, and she loves getting fresh air. She barely sheds, she rarely barks, and she travels without fear or anxiety. Her favorite thing in the whole wide world? Getting and giving affection! This girl is all about cuddles, caresses, and kisses. Pet her and she’s in ecstasy. Rub her ears and watch her melt.
