Story
These two dogs were found on a Sunday in Texas after their beloved owner, who had cared for them their entire lives, could no longer do so due to dementia and had to be placed into a care facility. During that difficult transition, the dogs were left without consistent care and were later found without collars and underweight. When a car door was opened, they climbed in together, trusting that it meant safety. They were taken to a nearby vet and by an incredible coincidence it had been their vet home for years. The staff recognized them immediately and confirmed their history. Shortly after, the owners daughter formally relinquished ownership. Now, these bonded senior dogs are looking for a new place to land, one filled with patience, comfort, and love.

Story
We adopted Bailey during the start of COVID in 2020. Bailey is 6 years old (is our best estimate) and we’ve had her since she was 13 weeks. She did well adjusting with our golden retriever, but had a hard time around other dogs as she can be protective and territorial so we stayed away from public dog parks. She’s lively and very protective of her home and yard. She’s had no incidents with other humans or animals, but we believe she should be in a home where she’s the sole pet and no young kids (we think she’d be good with kids 10 years & older who know boundaries). We have 2 children and she’s done well, but we usually let Bailey have her own space as the day goes on as she can get irritable. She loves to play, and we think she may be part hound as she enjoys catching wild animals. We love Bailey, but as our family grows we believe it’s best she goes to a loving home where she’s can be the sole attention of her family.

Story
Murphy is a sweet, loving dog who is looking for a forever home with an active lifestyle. We love him dearly, but unfortunately, we’re unable to give him the level of activity and engagement he truly deserves. He can be a little anxious or hesitant when meeting new people at first, but he warms up quickly and turns into an absolute bundle of joy. Once he feels comfortable, his playful, affectionate personality really shines. Murphy would thrive with someone who enjoys staying active and can give him the time, attention, and love he needs. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will bring happiness, energy, and lots of love into your life, Murphy might be the perfect match for you. 💛

Story
We found Ellie in early November in rural Louisiana & she had clearly been fending for herself for quite some time. She was emaciated, tick-covered, & living off whatever scraps she could find in the woods. Since then, she has blossomed into a healthy 50-lb bundle of pure sweetness. She is extremely affectionate and people-oriented. She is crate trained and housebroken. She walks well on a leash and knows basic commands. Her favorite toy is her large Kong (which she throws & chases herself), & will chew for hours on a large beef bone. She does show some fear responses to loud noises & sudden movements, but that has decreased over time. To make her transition as smooth as possible, her adoption includes a large crate & crate pad, large dog bed, harness, & leash. She would thrive as either a single pet or in a home with other friendly dogs around her size. Unfortunately, our smaller dog doesn't want to share her space which is the only reason why we are trying to find her a new home.

Story
This sweet girl came to us during a recent family loss. She was neglected and has lived outside almost her whole life. I have potty and crate trained her. Despite limited socialization with other dogs, she remained gentle and affectionate with people. When we brought her into our home, it became clear that she is not comfortable living with other dogs. She reacted defensively toward our resident dog, and for everyone’s safety, we made the difficult decision that our home is not the right long-term fit for her. With people, she is calm, loving, and eager for connection. She enjoys attention, is respectful, and has a sweet, soulful presence. She does best in quiet environments and would thrive as the only pet, where she can finally feel safe and secure. We are committed to finding her a home or rescue that understands her history and can offer her stability, patience, and a dog-free space to decompress and be loved.
