Story
Chaka Lou is a sweet, loyal, funny, smart, and deeply attentive girl! Fostered from DAS since April 2025, she is house, crate, leash, and harness trained. She knows sit, down, stay, off, leave it, no, and comes happily (for a treat). She loves frisbee, tennis balls, Kong toys, tug-of-war, squeakies, walks, runs, belly rubs and booty scritches, and her bed- or yours! She bonds closely with her person and thrives on being included in everyday life, whether that’s adventures outside or relaxing at home. A natural guardian and gentle nurse, she alerts you to visitors and softly nudges you if you’re unwell or need to sit. Curious about cats and wants to play but still working on chase manners. Confident, affectionate, and eager to learn, she will flourish in a home with structure, activity, and lots of love. Like many long-term shelter pets, she needs urinary prescription food; I use it for training treats, cost is similar to regular food and treats. Come meet your newest family member!

Story
We found Ellie in early November in rural Louisiana & she had clearly been fending for herself for quite some time. She was emaciated, tick-covered, & living off whatever scraps she could find in the woods. Since then, she has blossomed into a healthy 50-lb bundle of pure sweetness. She is extremely affectionate and people-oriented. She is crate trained and housebroken. She walks well on a leash and knows basic commands. Her favorite toy is her large Kong (which she throws & chases herself), & will chew for hours on a large beef bone. She does show some fear responses to loud noises & sudden movements, but that has decreased over time. To make her transition as smooth as possible, her adoption includes a large crate & crate pad, large dog bed, harness, & leash. She would thrive as either a single pet or in a home with other friendly dogs around her size. Unfortunately, our smaller dog doesn't want to share her space which is the only reason why we are trying to find her a new home.

Domino is about a year and a half old. He’s energetic and loves other animals, especially other dogs. He’s cat friendly and kid friendly as well. He does have the ability to climb over short chain link fences, so please keep that in mind. Other than that he is a loving dog and would be a great addition to the perfect home.

Story
Cinnamon is 9 years old. I took on Cinnamon as a baby to help out a friend and kept her every since. She is very adorable and loves kids. She is very energetic and playful. She gets along very well with cats and other dogs. I cannot keep her. My children are grown and off to college. I am a traveling nurse and move around all over the country. I am looking for a person or a family to be willing to take her on as their own.

Story
Hi! Bass is a 1yr old mixed breed good boy I found on a construction job site. He was found malnourished, mangey, and in poor health. I fed him my lunch (a bass filet I caught hence his name) and took him straight to the vet! He has been with me since. I have fostered Bass since August of 2025 in order to get him properly trained before finding him a new home. Bass is crate trained, potty trained, fully up to date on all vaccines, on heart-worm preventatives and not currently neutered- he will be prior to adoption! He is a sweet, affectionate, loyal, and curious fella who would make an excellent companion for a new dog owner. He has no dietary restrictions and is on a twice/day feed schedule. I cannot keep Bass any longer as I am leaving the state in a few months and cannot care for him. There is no re-homing fee and I will gladly provide basic essentials for the first month to whoever wants to adopt! I ask you are loving and can provide him the best you possibly can! Thank you!
