Story
https://foha.org/pet/cookies-and-creme/ Hello! I'm Cookies and Creme. My favorite people here at FOHA call me CC, C&C, or just Cookies. No matter what you call me, I am one smart cookie. I am looking for someone who will put my intelligence to good use. I'm food motivated and will sit nicely for a yummy treat. The volunteers that walk me are pretty convinced I know more than I let on. You can see it in my eyes and feel it when you meet me, that I want to learn more. I would thrive with someone who is ready and willing to take the time to work with me. When I'm out walking the trails at FOHA, I'm always on the lookout for wildlife. Whoever walks with me needs to be on the lookout too in case I see something before they do. Good thing is, I love treats as much as I love to chase. I'm easily redirected from the chase with a yummy snack or an enticing squeaky toy. Because I think I'm pretty special, I prefer to be your one and only. With your undivided attention and love, we can bring out the best in each other! Check out all of the dogs available at Friends of Homeless Animals! https://foha.org/pet-adoption/find-a-dog/

Story
https://foha.org/pet/jango/ My name is a special and unique one-it means "the greatest of heroes At times I feel heroic, remaining steadfast in my belief that I will find a forever home. But it will have to be with a patient owner that can work with me adjusting in encountering a lot of new things. You see, I can be a little skittish about unexpected sounds and sometimes wary of new people. But once I get to know someone, I am a gentle, attentive boy who knows "Sit, takes treats gently, and enjoys quiet story time I get along fine with other dogs (after appropriate introductions). But in my heart would probably prefer to be the only dog in the home so I can focus all my attention on bonding with my owners. I am deeply loyal and yearn for stability in a quiet home in a quiet area without children. I am also looking for a very patient, experienced owner. I forgot to tell you! I love to jump and could probably win a dog contest-so you need to keep an eye on me when I am in a yard. Since I have reached my golden years, I am eligible for the Senior Care Plan (learn more here). If you have additional questions, please use our Contact Us form and select Senior Care Plan Questions. Jango is sponsored by Kenneth Noto. Check out all of the dogs available at Friends of Homeless Animals! https://foha.org/pet-adoption/find-a-dog/

Story
https://foha.org/pet/aubrey2024/ **Hello, I'm Aubrey.** I am a sweet girl, but feeling quite overwhelmed and scared here at the shelter. All the barking and bustling activity around me has me on edge, and it's hard for me to come out of my shell. But let me tell you, I'm really hoping to find a quiet, patient home where I can learn to trust and feel safe. Getting leashed up was a big step for me with the help and understanding from a kind person here at the shelter. Treats are definitely the way to my heart, and a peaceful spot to hang out in sounds like a dream come true. Although I'm not fully shut down out of my kennel, I'm generally very scared and cautious so far. I'm hoping to find a family-either foster or adoptive-who will take things slow with me, understanding that I need time to build my confidence. As my shelter family gets to know me better, they promise to update my bio. For now, I'm just here, hoping and waiting for that special someone to come along and give me the extra TLC and patience I truly need and deserve. Looking forward to brighter days ahead, Aubrey

She is hoping to find lots of love with a forever family where she will have a comfy place to crash and lots of good eats! Holly is great with other dogs and has a sweet and silly personality which makes her even more endearing. She loves everyone she meets and laps up all the cuddles and affection she can get! This lovable lady can’t wait to find a forever home to call her own. Will you be hers?Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. She loves to play outside, and if she could, she would be outside all day long. She is not one to play fetch, but she enjoys running around outside and chasing birds. Miss Freckles does really well on walks and loves them. She is used to being walked on a harness, but will also probably do well on a collar. She is great with routine, tends to learn pretty quickly, and she is treat/food motivated. She enjoys chewing on bones and toys along with cuddling and giving lots of kisses. She has crate anxiety and she might have some separation anxiety as well after 5-6 or so hours of being left alone. She does not like loud, busy streets and does not like cars or going near cars. She tends to get car sick, but she will get used to a car pretty quickly if she is loaded in and out for short drives. She would be a good fit for an active family that is home most of the time. Miss Freckles would thrive somewhere with less traffic and a big yard for her to explore. If her new home has another dog or dogs, she would be fine with them and will most likely want to play. Submit an application today and give Miss Freckles a chance to have the forever home that she deserves!Freckles is not destructive at all and just sleeps on the couch at night. I have cameras all over my house so I can watch her at night or when I'm out. She doesn't appear to have separation anxiety or anything like that. Her favorites include laying in the grass, playing with a ball, zooming, destroying fluffy toys (she doesn't swallow any of the fluff) and snuggling on the couch. She has been around men and women without any problem. She has seen my cat several times and doesn't seem to care. We haven't been around kids yet, but I have no doubt she would be fine. Freckles is going to love her person, whoever adopts her, and will be very loyal to that person. She has no interest in leaving my side! The biggest issue she seems to have right now is getting frightened while on walks. Things like big buses, loud cars, or sudden movements seem to jar her a bit. Though she recovers quickly a busy city would probably not be a good fit for her.  She seems interested in other dogs and is very playful. She's learning to walk on a leash. She's not great, but she's also not bad at all. All in all, she's a lovely dog!" Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training.
