Story
Meet Beso! Beso is an adorable 5-year-old and 8 lb Spaniel/Pomeranian mix. After spending her entire life with one owner, Beso was sadly surrendered to Shelter Hope when her owner could no longer care for her. It has been a huge adjustment for this little girl, but she is learning to feel safe and comfortable again. Beso is a smart, sweet, and communicative companion with a curious, easygoing personality. She enjoys lounging in her cozy bed, curling up in laps, and being near the people she trusts. Though she is laid-back overall, she is very observant and always likes to know what is going on around her. She pays close attention to her surroundings and enjoys being part of the everyday rhythm of the home. Beso is an affectionate and loyal little dog who simply wants to feel safe and loved. She is not reactive to cats and has done well with most other small dogs when given proper introductions, though she would likely be happiest as the only dog in the home. Beso enjoys having her own space, loves being the center of attention, and can sometimes get jealous when sharing affection. While she has done well with kids, she can become protective of her person at times, so we feel she would do best in an adult-only home. If you are looking for a cuddly, devoted companion to share your couch and your heart, Beso could be your perfect match! Beso is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to find her forever home. ---- Looking to Adopt? Step 1) Apply Online Submit a rescue questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Story
Prince Leo is a 2-year-old, 18-pound Pom mix who is ready for his second chance. He was found as a stray in Bakersfield with three other dogs. Sadly, this area has become a common dumping ground for unwanted dogs. A good samaritan found them, trapped them, and reached out to us for help. Shelter Hope took in all four. Prince Leo is a nervous boy around humans, but he is very gentle and sweet. Once he feels at ease, he’ll come forward to sniff you or accept treats. His personality truly shines around other dogs, where he feels most confident, and he can become anxious if left alone without them. He loves exploring, relaxing in his bed, and following around his doggie friends. Before coming to us, he spent over a year in a home and is still slowly coming out of his shell. Prince Leo is fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. He has been through a lot, and we know there is a home out there for him that will give him the love, time, and patience he deserves. ------- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Step 1) Application Step 2) Phone Interview Step 3) Appointment Shelter Hope is operating by appointment only. Be ready to adopt: If selected, our rescue counselor will contact you to schedule a phone interview. Please monitor your email and spam folder for our message. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation. More on our process: Due to high demand, especially for popular dogs, not all applicants will be contacted. Moreover, we may not reach out if we have already approved a family to adopt. The process can take several days. Thank you for your patience!

Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION COURTESY POST MEET DAVID…..an adorable, 7 month old (DOB 9/30/2025), apx 15 lb (possibly 17 at maturity), black/grey/white, Pomeranian X, who is being rehomed because his family is moving internationally. It’s clear they love him dearly, and this has been a very difficult decision to make. Sadly, this baby has already been in two homes, due to no fault of his own 🙁 He came from a neighbor who didn’t want him, who told this family he is a Pomeranian/Shih Tzu mix? He has a soft thick coat (wonderful to cuddle with) and hardly sheds. No matter what his combo, there is no arguing that he is uniquely handsome! David has a great personality and does well with dogs of all sizes and is even cat tolerant! He currently lives with a teenager and would do well with respectful kids. No aggression whatsoever, he’s a wonderful puppy who just needs a wonderful, forever home! This fluffball is very playful, loves to snuggle, play with his toys and is brimming with personality. He is a typical puppy who is learning about potty training and doing great! He is also learning that putting his harness on does not require a battle and is becoming more tolerant having his puppy paws handled. Like most puppies and dogs, he doesn’t love his nails trimmed and would do best to have a professional take this on! With a lot of love, consistency and a bit of training (that all puppies need), David will be the companion that will grow up with your family. He has a balanced level of puppiness and calm, so he is the ideal companion! Does he sound like a pup you would welcome to come and stay forever? All applications will be forwarded to his current family, who will be leaving in June. Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed. Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Our event is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring pictures or video of your home and yard if we have not done a home check (preferred)! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting! Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events! See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption and for considering saving a life. Story
Meet Bebot! 🐾 The little shadow you didn’t know you needed. This 12-year-old Pomeranian/Pekingese mix was found as a stray and made his way to Harbor Shelter in San Pedro before landing in a loving foster home, where he’s been making up for lost time in the snuggle department. His foster describes him as sweet, friendly, and endearingly devoted. If you’re sitting, he’s happy to curl up nearby—and if you head to another room, he’d love to tag along. Despite his age, Bebot still has a surprising amount of pep. He enjoys short walks and does well on leash, and every now and then he breaks into a delightful round of zoomies. Most of the time, though, he’s all about the simple pleasures: cozy naps, cuddles, and a bit of gentle play. He’s friendly and easygoing with both familiar faces and new friends, greeting everyone with the cheerful smile his foster family adores. Bebot is still working on his house-training and will benefit from a consistent routine. He thrives with a little extra guidance and supervision as he continues to build good habits. He forms strong bonds with his people and feels most comfortable when he can be close by. Like many devoted companions, he may need a bit of reassurance when left alone, especially at first, but settles best in a home where someone is around much of the day. During his recent dental procedure, it was thoughtfully determined that removing his remaining teeth would best support his overall health and comfort. He’s now happily toothless—which only adds to his charm and makes his little expressions even more irresistible. His ideal home is with someone who works from home or is around most of the time and is looking for a constant, loving companion. If you’re hoping for a loyal little dog who will adore being by your side, Bebot is your boy. If you are interested in adopting, head to hitlivingfoundation.org/adopt to apply ✨ Est DOB: 03/28/2014 Adoption Fee: $350 P.S. If you spot a few not-so-perfect teefs in his photos, don’t worry, those were taken before his dental glow up ✨🦷

Story
Adopt Bibi   Bibi is a sweet little Pom mix who survived a city shelter euthanasia list and is now waiting for a loving forever home. She may be a little shy at first, but once she trusts you, her affectionate and loyal personality truly shines.   Name: Bibi Age: 6 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Pomeranian Mix Color: Black/Brown Weight: 6.2 kg Height: 31 cm   Rescue Story Bibi was rescued from a city shelter before euthanasia.   Personality & Socialization with People Bibi can be slightly shy when meeting new people, but treats quickly help her warm up. Once comfortable, she allows handling easily and becomes very attached to the person caring for her. She enjoys following her trusted people around and has a gentle, affectionate nature. She can be picked up comfortably with arms under her belly, and once bonded, she will even show her tummy. She has not yet been tested with children under 13 years old.   With Other Dogs Bibi politely greets unfamiliar dogs but prefers spending time on her own rather than actively playing. She tends to feel uncomfortable around large dogs or very high-energy, pushy dogs and usually chooses to avoid them.   With Cats When she sees cats during walks, she stays focused on her handler rather than reacting strongly.   Energy Level & Walks During walks with unfamiliar people, Bibi tends to move slowly and focus on sniffing. However, once she bonds with someone, she becomes much more cheerful and enjoys walks happily. After settling in, she walks very well.   Other Notes • No food guarding toward people or dogs • Quiet and calm personality • No separation anxiety observed • Calm inside a kennel/crate • Nervous about getting into cars and prefers being carried in • Currently uses both pee pads indoors and potty outdoors   Bibi would do best in a calm and patient home that can give her time to build trust and confidence at her own pace. Once she opens her heart, she becomes a truly loving companion. Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook and Instagram! Story
Leo the Lion is a loveable 2 year old Pomeranian mix. He was surrendered by his former owners and was fortunate enough to find his way on to The Rescue Train. He is a sweet, funny dog that likes to cuddle, going on long walks and carrying around his favorite Nylabone. Although Leo is hearing impaired, he is very smart. He was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and his seizures are being controlled with phenobarbital. His foster took lessons with a trainer that specializes in deaf dogs so an adopter experienced with deaf/special needs dogs is a plus. He walks well on leash and is very good at maintaining eye contact so he knows when to safely cross the street. He doesn't bark very often, but he does bark very loudly so an apartment would not suit him. He interacts well with other dogs but doesn't necessarily initiate play and sometimes just likes to just watch from the sidelines. His adopter will be required to take a minimum of 2 lessons with his trainer, which are included in his adoption donation. --- If you are interested in adopting LEO THE LION please fill out our adoption application by clicking this LINK. Applications are required PRIOR to meeting one of our animals and are used to set up a safe and successful adoption. Please don't be shy and answer the questions thoroughly. Story
Meet Bandit! Bandit is a 1 year old Papillon mix weighing just 13 pounds, with the cutest black and white coat and a big personality to match! This spunky, playful little guy loves to have fun and quickly forms a strong bond with his person. Once he knows you’re his human, Bandit is incredibly loyal and affectionate. Because he gets attached quickly, Bandit will do best with an adopter who understands he may need a little time and patience to warm up to new faces. With gentle introductions and a calm environment, his sweet and loving nature really shines. Bandit is potty trained, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations, and neutered. He gets along well with other small dogs when introduced properly and would thrive in a home that will continue his basic training and help him build confidence. If you’re looking for a playful, devoted companion who will quickly become your little shadow, Bandit might just be your perfect match.
