Story
This precious Pomeranian is Godiva and she is looking for her forever home! Godiva is a female, one year old, 8lb, Pomeranian that is absolutely stunning in person! This pretty pup came to us when her owner surrendered her because they felt they didn't have the time to dedicate to a young dog. Godiva is sweet, loving, and playful. We are looking for a forever home for her that are Pomeranian owners or have had the breed in the past. She would LOVE to have another fun friend in the home and owners that are not gone long hours during the day would be best as she absolutely loves to be with and close to her person. Per her vet records from her prior owner, she had a leg fracture that the owner declined all medical on. We have taken her to our vet and had xrays done which confirmed the prior fracture. At this time, our vet said she does not need immediate surgery to correct it. Potential adopters do need to note that she will need that surgery at some point. She is walking fine and doing great and at this time per our vet, she does not need the surgery, but we do want to be upfront with this issue. Godiva is such a sweetheart who definitely deserves the best forever home out there! Godiva is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. We only adopt in So Calif as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial are required. Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020

Story
Meet Beso! Beso is an adorable 5-year-old and 8 lb Spaniel/Pomeranian mix. After spending her entire life with one owner, Beso was sadly surrendered to Shelter Hope when her owner could no longer care for her. It has been a huge adjustment for this little girl, but she is learning to feel safe and comfortable again. Beso is a smart, sweet, and communicative companion with a curious, easygoing personality. She enjoys lounging in her cozy bed, curling up in laps, and being near the people she trusts. Though she is laid-back overall, she is very observant and always likes to know what is going on around her. She pays close attention to her surroundings and enjoys being part of the everyday rhythm of the home. Beso is an affectionate and loyal little dog who simply wants to feel safe and loved. She is not reactive to cats and has done well with most other small dogs when given proper introductions, though she would likely be happiest as the only dog in the home. Beso enjoys having her own space, loves being the center of attention, and can sometimes get jealous when sharing affection. While she has done well with kids, she can become protective of her person at times, so we feel she would do best in an adult-only home. If you are looking for a cuddly, devoted companion to share your couch and your heart, Beso could be your perfect match! Beso is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to find her forever home. ---- Looking to Adopt? Step 1) Apply Online Submit a rescue questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Story
Prince Leo is a 2-year-old, 18-pound Pom mix who is ready for his second chance. He was found as a stray in Bakersfield with three other dogs. Sadly, this area has become a common dumping ground for unwanted dogs. A good samaritan found them, trapped them, and reached out to us for help. Shelter Hope took in all four. Prince Leo is a nervous boy around humans, but he is very gentle and sweet. Once he feels at ease, he’ll come forward to sniff you or accept treats. His personality truly shines around other dogs, where he feels most confident, and he can become anxious if left alone without them. He loves exploring, relaxing in his bed, and following around his doggie friends. Before coming to us, he spent over a year in a home and is still slowly coming out of his shell. Prince Leo is fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. He has been through a lot, and we know there is a home out there for him that will give him the love, time, and patience he deserves. ------- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Step 1) Application Step 2) Phone Interview Step 3) Appointment Shelter Hope is operating by appointment only. Be ready to adopt: If selected, our rescue counselor will contact you to schedule a phone interview. Please monitor your email and spam folder for our message. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation. More on our process: Due to high demand, especially for popular dogs, not all applicants will be contacted. Moreover, we may not reach out if we have already approved a family to adopt. The process can take several days. Thank you for your patience!

Story
Leo the Lion is a loveable 2 year old Pomeranian mix. He was surrendered by his former owners and was fortunate enough to find his way on to The Rescue Train. He is a sweet, funny dog that likes to cuddle, going on long walks and carrying around his favorite Nylabone. Although Leo is hearing impaired, he is very smart. He was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and his seizures are being controlled with phenobarbital. His foster took lessons with a trainer that specializes in deaf dogs so an adopter experienced with deaf/special needs dogs is a plus. He walks well on leash and is very good at maintaining eye contact so he knows when to safely cross the street. He doesn't bark very often, but he does bark very loudly so an apartment would not suit him. He interacts well with other dogs but doesn't necessarily initiate play and sometimes just likes to just watch from the sidelines. His adopter will be required to take a minimum of 2 lessons with his trainer, which are included in his adoption donation. --- If you are interested in adopting LEO THE LION please fill out our adoption application by clicking this LINK. Applications are required PRIOR to meeting one of our animals and are used to set up a safe and successful adoption. Please don't be shy and answer the questions thoroughly. Story
Meet Romilly! Romilly is a 12-year-old, 9.3-pound Pomeranian mix with the sweetest heart and the cutest little personality. After being found as a stray on the streets of Los Angeles, she landed at a shelter with an upper respiratory infection and was placed on the euthanasia list. We knew we had to give this precious senior the second chance she deserved. After spending two weeks recovering from her URI, followed by a spay and dental to treat a severe dental infection, Romilly is now healthy, happy, and ready for her forever home! Romilly is a delightful, silly, and loyal little companion who loves to cuddle and follow her person from room to room. She enjoys short walks (she starts off with big energy before remembering she's a senior!), does great when left home alone, loves other dogs, and politely ignores cats. Her perfect home is one filled with treats, ear scratches, cozy naps, and someone who reminds her every day just how beautiful she is. If you're looking for a gentle best friend to share your days with, Romilly is ready to meet you.
