Brandon is a three-year-old pomchi mix weighing about 10 to 11 pounds. He is small, but overflowing with personality and love. Brandon is fully house trained with a steady potty routine, and is great on a leash: very attentive, responsive, and eager to follow your lead. When meeting new person, Brandon is slow to warm up, and can be reactive. He might growl, bark, or even snap if the person approaches quickly and doesn't give Brandon the time he needs. Brandon initially did this with his foster parents, but they gave him the time he needed to earn his trust. Once he trusts you, he transforms into the sweetest, most affectionate dog you could imagine. His foster dad describes Brandon as "the biggest sweetheart dog I've ever had, no barking, biting, or growling. It took a couple weeks at the start, but now he's very gentle and predictable. He is loving and affectionate, takes all the pets, is ready to fetch his toys at any time, minds his own business, and is able to stay alone in our studio apartment without destructive behavior. Brandon barks for a couple of minutes after we leave the house, but he settles down. He is extremely obedient and attentive, listens to 'go,' 'come,' 'no,' etc, and he learns commands after some pointing or using a firm voice." Brandon is great with other dogs: calm, respectful, and unbothered, even with pushy dogs. On several occasions, when his foster parents have had to travel for work, Brandon was temporarily fostered in another home, where he was great with both their dogs and cats. The best home for Brandon would be one that understands that love with him takes time. He’d thrive with someone patient and compassionate who can let him open up at his own pace. Once he trusts you, probably within a few days, he’ll be your most loyal and loving dog. He’s truly one of a kind. If you’re looking for a dog who will love you deeply once you’ve earned his trust, Brandon is your boy. Leo the Lion is a loveable 2 year old Pomeranian mix. He was surrendered by his former owners and was fortunate enough to find his way on to The Rescue Train. He is a sweet, funny dog that likes to cuddle, going on long walks and carrying around his favorite Nylabone. Although Leo is hearing impaired, he is very smart. He was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and his seizures are being controlled with phenobarbital. His foster took lessons with a trainer that specializes in deaf dogs so an adopter experienced with deaf/special needs dogs is a plus. He walks well on leash and is very good at maintaining eye contact so he knows when to safely cross the street. He doesn't bark very often, but he does bark very loudly so an apartment would not suit him. He interacts well with other dogs but doesn't necessarily initiate play and sometimes just likes to just watch from the sidelines. After being found as a stray on the streets of Los Angeles, she landed at a shelter with an upper respiratory infection and was placed on the euthanasia list. We knew we had to give this precious senior the second chance she deserved. After spending two weeks recovering from her URI, followed by a spay and dental to treat a severe dental infection, Romilly is now healthy, happy, and ready for her forever home! Romilly is a delightful, silly, and loyal little companion who loves to cuddle and follow her person from room to room. She enjoys short walks (she starts off with big energy before remembering she's a senior!), does great when left home alone, loves other dogs, and politely ignores cats. Meet Séraphine! Séraphine is a 15-year-old, 8.3-pound Pomeranian mix with the sweetest soul. This darling senior is happiest enjoying life's simple pleasures—a cozy nap, a slow walk, a full belly, and plenty of ear scratches. She loves following her person around like a little shadow, although every now and then she surprises everyone with adorable bunny-like zoomies after a walk! She's completely house-trained, walks beautifully on leash, and gets along well with other dogs. While she's happy to coexist with canine friends, she's much more interested in spending time with her people. Séraphine absolutely melts into you when she's getting her favorite ear scratches. She's also a smart little lady who knows exactly how to ask for what she wants—whether it's another helping of food or a trip outside. Due to years of severe dental disease before coming to rescue, Séraphine's jaw has weakened and now hangs open most of the time. It gives her an extra-special smile, but it doesn't slow her down one bit! Eating can be a little messy and take a bit more effort, but she's determined, loves her meals (especially a little ice cream!), and enjoys life to the fullest. If you're looking for a quiet, loving companion who will happily be your shadow, Séraphine is ready to spend her golden years by your side.
