Story
Kiki is a charming 6 year old neutered male Pomeranian and Spaniel Mix who stole hearts after being rescued from South LA when his owners left him behind. This sweet little guy loves nothing more than going on walks and rolling around in the grass, soaking up every bit of outdoor fun. Kiki is gentle, affectionate, and gets along wonderfully with both kids and other dogs, making him the perfect companion for a loving home. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. Please find our application at lovejoyfoundation.org when you come to an event please bring that filled out in hand with you. You can find our application at Lovejoyfoundation.org. Please note a Petfinder and Adoptapet Inquiry is not applying for the dog. You have to come to the event or send an email inquiry to our records email.

Story
Meet Noelle! Noelle is a 7 year old Pomeranian mix. She weighs about 12 lbs. she is quite the beauty queen and loves to be brushed and loves her treats! She currently lives with another dog and gets along well with him. She would probably be fine with cats also based on her personality but she has not been around cats. She is not a nuisance barker but will join in with her foster brother when the mailman is at the door. Noelle is fine being left alone for short periods of time. She really wants a person who is retired or is RICH, so they don’t have to work! Lol! She enjoys playing with her toys and loves a good game of tug of war. Noelle is housebroken and goes outside on her own to do her business. Noelle loves to eat and is food motivated. She uses a slow feeder bowl or we hand feed her to prevent her from eating too fast and to teach her we provide the food and she doesn’t need to be possessive over it. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night. Noelle loves to be held and really enjoys being brushed. Although Noelle is a Pomeranian mix, she has the pommie personality through and through! She is silly and loves to ham it up when she “sits up pretty” but she is also strong willed and can be stubborn at times. She does not like to walk on a leash and will resist any attempts to go for a walk. We have been working on that with her but haven’t made much progress. We will not place Noelle with children at all. She just doesn’t vibe with them. We aren’t sure of her past but we have a feeling she was left to fend for herself. She is a smart girl and is learning that the good life isn’t so bad after all!Our adoptions are restricted to residents within 30 miles of the South Bay area of Los Angeles. We do not ship animals or do long distance adoptions. See our adoption policies for more details on our adoption process. If you are interested in adopting one of our available pups, please complete an adoption application. You can find the application at: https://noahs-bark.org/adoption-application. We will arrange a meet and greet with the pet with approved applications only. Please note, an approved adoption application and meet and greet does not guarantee you will be selected to adopt the pup. We do not show our dogs any other time. Story
Meet Arizona 🌵 Arizona is a 1-year-old Pomeranian mix who came to us as a stray—and when she was first found, she was absolutely terrified. Shut down and unsure of the world, she clearly hadn’t known much safety before coming into our care. Since then, Arizona has spent a couple of weeks in training to fine-tune her doggy skills, and the progress she’s made has been incredible. She’s a high-energy, super playful girl who lives for yard zoomies and loves getting other dogs to chase her. She does great with other animals, including dogs, cats, and even larger animals like horses. Arizona can be a bit cautious when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly. Once she trusts you, she bonds deeply—she’ll happily follow you around off leash, has excellent recall, walks easily on leash, and loves getting out for adventures. She’s worked hard through some anxiety and is becoming more relaxed each day. Her future adopter should be aware that she can be a flight risk early on, so a patient, attentive person who can give her time to settle in is important. In return, you’ll get a very sweet, eager-to-please girl who takes guidance well and is highly food motivated, making training both easy and rewarding. Arizona is ready for a home that will continue building her confidence and let her shine. With the right person, she’s going to be an incredible companion.

Story
Leo the Lion is a loveable 2 year old Pomeranian mix. He was surrendered by his former owners and was fortunate enough to find his way on to The Rescue Train. He is a sweet, funny dog that likes to cuddle, going on long walks and carrying around his favorite Nylabone. Although Leo is hearing impaired, he is very smart. He was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and his seizures are being controlled with phenobarbital. His foster took lessons with a trainer that specializes in deaf dogs so an adopter experienced with deaf/special needs dogs is a plus. He walks well on leash and is very good at maintaining eye contact so he knows when to safely cross the street. He doesn't bark very often, but he does bark very loudly so an apartment would not suit him. He interacts well with other dogs but doesn't necessarily initiate play and sometimes just likes to just watch from the sidelines. His adopter will be required to take a minimum of 2 lessons with his trainer, which are included in his adoption donation. --- If you are interested in adopting LEO THE LION please fill out our adoption application by clicking this LINK. Applications are required PRIOR to meeting one of our animals and are used to set up a safe and successful adoption. Please don't be shy and answer the questions thoroughly. To learn more about our entire process please visit www.therescuetrain.org and click on the "Adopt A Dog" page. PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT OWN A FACILITY. Our animals are in private foster homes. Story
Meet Our Little Enigma: Brun 6 years old. 2 years in limbo. Surrendered for biting. Passed from shelter to rescue. He came to us matted, guarded, growling at the world. But we listened—and he softened. Today, his bark is mostly chatter. His past? Respected, but behind him. He’s playful, dog-friendly, and learning to love again. Brun is currently living with a trainer who will help transition him into his next home—foster or forever. He’s not for beginners or homes with small children. But for the right person? He’ll give you his whole heart. Give him structure. He’ll give you his trust. Adoption Fee: $400 Includes spay, dental, bloodwork, vaccines, and microchip.August 29, 2025, 4:00 pm

Story
Lilac is an approx 3 year old, female, 12lb, Papillon/Chihuahua mix that was found on the streets after her owners abandoned her. People in the neighborhood reported that she waited on the same street in the same spot for over a week, waiting for her people to return. Lilac is great with people and is very loving. This beautiful girl is looking for a calm home, as she can be reactive to chaos. Lilac can be your one and only or share you with a sweet, submissive doggie pal. Because she can be an alpha girl, we do not recommend a placement with a dominant dog. A home with a secure yard where Lilac can run around and play would be ideal, as would be owners who are not gone for long periods during the day. This little lovebug is so ready for her forever home. Will you be the one to make her doggie dreams come true? Lilac is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. We only adopt in Southern California as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial are required. Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020
