This lanky 22 pound sweetheart is estimated to be around 4 years old, and he’s already had quite the journey. Markie was found wandering the streets all alone and it was clear life hadn’t been very gentle with him. When he first arrived, his skin was in rough shape from flea allergies and he had lost a lot of fur. He also had a severely damaged, bulging eye that had no vision and caused him discomfort.But here’s the good news! Markie is a fighter, and he’s come a long way. His bad eye has been removed, his skin has healed, and his fur is growing back soft, shiny, and absolutely beautiful. He has taken every change in stride and adjusted to his new one-eyed life like a total champ. You truly would never guess how much he’s been through based on how well he's doing today.Markie has spent some time with us while getting all of his medical needs addressed, and now he’s feeling better than ever and ready for his forever home. Mamba is a sweet and sensitive 5-year-old boy who found his way to us after his previous owners had a baby and felt he might struggle with the changes in the household. Mamba does have some personality quirks that need a little extra patience and understanding. He’s not fond of sudden movements and prefers not to have his ears touched. When he arrived at the rescue, he had a pretty bad face and ear infection, so it’s possible that some of his reactivity stemmed from pain or discomfort.With a slow, gentle approach and the right space to feel comfortable and safe, Mamba opens up and shows his true, affectionate nature. He’s a wonderful little guy who enjoys the company of people he trusts. He will take some time to warm up to you but with slow and patient dedication to him he will thrive! He isn't the biggest fan of being around other dogs so he would do best as your one and only. Gilley might just be one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet and we mean that wholeheartedly. This special guy has a heart as big as his love for cuddles, and he deserves a home that can give him all the love and attention he’s been dreaming of.Gilley is about 6 years old and weighs 25 pounds. He came to us as a stray and has a few special needs that make him extra unique. Gilley has a herniated disc near his spine, which causes weakness in his legs. This means he can stand, walk, and even take several steps, though sometimes he may slip or stumble, especially on smooth surfaces. He does best on grass or other textured surfaces, and he can still potty on his own without assistance. Since coming into our care, Gilley has started gabapentin, which helps him move more comfortably and keeps him pain-free, something he'll need to remain on for life. He’s also on eye drops to keep his eyes healthy and comfortable. While he may never walk “completely normally,” Gilley moves around just fine and he doesn’t let anything slow him down when it comes to love and affection.And oh, the love! Gilley is devoted to humans like you wouldn’t believe. The moment he bonds with someone, he’s all in following you around, plopping in your lap, leaning for belly rubs, and soaking up every ounce of attention you’ll give. He’s calm, gentle, and affectionate, and he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He’s a little shy at first, but once he trusts you, he’s your shadow, your little cheerleader, and your ultimate cuddle companion.Gilley also gets along well with other dogs.
