Story

Poor Tofu was turned into the shelter after being used for breeding. She was quickly adopted but developed pneumonia after getting spayed and was turned back into the shelter a second time! Can you imagine that, poor girl. She was very sick, and the shelter luckily got her to an outside vet where she received excellent care and then we rescued her from the shelter. We got her all taken care of and nursed her back to health and now she is fully recovered. Tofu is a very sweet girl and is extremely affectionate. She will follow you everywhere, sit in your lap for however long you allow her to, and loves to cuddle. Tofu is about 2-3 years old, weighs 19 pounds and gets along great with both dogs and cats. She is housebroken and rides well in the car. She recently had BOAS surgery and recovered well and is breathing much more comfortably. Tofu would do best in a laid-back home where she is not left for long hours as she loves to be with humans.

He’s about 4 years old, 20 pounds, and the kind of dog who notices everything but doesn’t always know what to make of it yet.Q came to us because his family had to move and couldn’t take him along. The change really shook him up, and when he first arrived he kept to himself, watched everything carefully, and tried to figure out where he was and what was expected of him. Loud or busy spaces are still a lot for him, and he does best when things are calm and predictable.But there’s something really special about Q. Once he starts to feel safe you can actually see him relax a little more each day. He’s been making steady progress with staff and volunteers who take the time to go slow with him, and he responds beautifully to patience!In his previous home, he did well with other dogs after a proper introduction. He also lived with cats and got along great with them! His previous owner told us he loves cats! With kids he was gentle and had a protective, watchful kind of presence. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. • Rescue Story: Meet Moana👋🏻 She was found wandering the streets of Paju, South Korea in 2022. She ended up at a high-kill shelter but was thankfully rescued just in time. Since then, she’s been living in a private shelter with many other dogs, charming everyone with her affectionate personality. Now, she’s ready to find a forever family of her own! • Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Goofy Moana is truly one of a kind. She quickly won the hearts of volunteers with her gentle, loving nature. She follows people around like a little shadow, happily greeting everyone—even strangers—with tail wags and affection. Moana thrives on human interaction and loves tug-of-war, belly rubs, and being the center of attention. Her energy level is moderate, making her a great balance of playful and calm. • Affinity with - Dogs: Moana is incredibly social—not just with people, but with dogs, too. She’s often the first to welcome new arrivals at the shelter, helping them feel safe and at ease. While she would thrive as the only dog in the home, Moana also does best with calm dog companions. - Cats: Not tested with cats - Adults/Kids: Great with adults / She hasn’t been tested with cats or kids, but based on her gentle demeanor, we believe she’d do well with respectful children. • Walking Manners: Moana has also started practicing her leash skills and is doing great! She may pull a little at times, but overall, she walks well and is eager to please. • Housetrained: As she’s lived in a shelter, Moana will need some house-training in a home setting. • Bathing/Brushing: She’s tolerant of baths and grooming. • Car Sickness: She’s curious and alert during car rides, taking in the world around her. • Separation Anxiety: Zero. • Barks/Howls: Very quiet • Appetite/Food Allergies: Eats well. No food allergies found so far. • Shedding level (1~10): 5 • Likes/Dislikes: She loves affection & treats! • Health: Moana finished her heartworm treatment in Oct 2024 and is in great health. She underwent successful surgery for an inguinal hernia in Mar 2025 and has fully recovered. She has a clean bill of health and is ready for her new adventure!
