You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Subway is not a GGBR dog...he is a   COURTESY LISTING  for Hearts and Paws Rescue. Please contact that rescue directly at 530-304-7629  Hearts and Paws Rescue has this to say about this happy fellow:'Subway, who likely is about 5 years old, was on the euthanasia list at the Yolo County Shelter due to kennel reactivity and 'a dislike of dogs.' Once Subway came to the farm, it was clear that he was no couch potato and is actually a super play dog to all dogs, big and small. He LOVES all people. He is super social and friendly, wanting to meet everyone he sees. He has a great recall and is great on a leash. 'What is he?? That is anyone's guess, but the basset in him is clear. He isn't chunky; he is just big boned. Subway especially loves big friendly dogs and he is quick to play and just as quick to poop out after play. He is very comforatble and appropriate being left for long peridos of time, expecially if he has a playmate or a large enclosure of his own. He is great in the house,  sleeps soundly and he is housetrained. He is very bonded with my son and likes big men best. 'Subway is obsessed with cats, so no cats for Subway. He is great around horses. For Subway, the bigger, the kinder and gentler, and the more exercise he gets, the better he becomes. He needs and desires lots of outside time and another okay dog in his life is ideal. He would make a great compaion dog to a breed like the Belgian Malinois or herding dog who can outrun and outplay him. He is really good with puppies and likes male puppies.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 8, 2025, 9:35 pm

Story
Have you heard the phrase, a face only a mother could love? Well, let us introduce you to the inspiration for it. Meet Guppy! This little guy may not have won the genetics lottery, but what he lacks in looks he makes up for in charm. He could be a pug mix, he could not be. Perhaps bulldog? Only a DNA test will reveal the truth. Do we really know his age? Could he be 2 or 7, who is to say? He was born without his right eye, has a uniquely shaped head, a major underbite, and an endearing wobbly walk. He came to us from the California Central Valley with a few other pugs after his owner went into a nursing home without a care plan. Guppy is looking for a home where he can chew on toys, lounge the day away, and follow his person like a shadow. Hes crate-trained, and while hes still working on potty training, a consistent routine will help him get back on track after being shuffled around these last few weeks. He's good with confident cats and dogs of all sizes, but we suspect he would be happy as an only-dog, too. If youre searching for a quirky, one-of-a-kind companion, Guppy just might be the pug for you! He's being fostered in Rohnert Park through The Pug Hotel.

Story
Mac is a sweet, affectionate pug looking for humans who will choose him every time. Hes a child of divorce, and like many little ones whove been through big changes, he needs time and patience to feel secure again. Mac will thrive in a calm home (he's fine around kids, but we think he'd be happiest as the only child at this time), where he can spend his days curled up in your lap, carried in your arms, and following you everywhere. He needs adopters who will prioritize his training, help him understand routines, and steadily build up his confidence so he can finally relax into a life that feels safe and predictable. Hes working on his potty training, is completely indifferent to cats, stays aloof around other dogs, and hasnt yet discovered the joy of toys. If youre looking for a human-obsessed bundle of pure affection who just needs a little guidance and reassurance, Mac is your guy. Like many dogs, he has Medial Patellar Luxation (luxating patella) in one of his legs. This is a common orthopedic issue that can be managed with joint supplements and keeping his weight down; you'll want to monitor for any changes in his walking over the years. He's 18 pounds, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Mac is currently being fostered in Sacramento, CA.

Story
Meet Klaus! This adorable pug puppy with a beautiful cream coat came to us from a Central Valley shelter where he had been surrendered by his owner. At just 8 months old, Klaus is a typical puppy who loves to play, do zoomies, and then crash happily in your arms. He is making great progress with potty training with frequent trips outside and is thriving in his foster home with other dogs and cats, getting along well with everyone. He's comfortable with a dog door now; he's a fast learner! Klaus is happiest around other dogs, so we are looking for a home with built-in besties for him. Klauss favorite place to sleep is on your pillow, right next to your head. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Since we do not have vaccine records from his previous owner, we recommend a DaPP booster in two weeks to ensure full protection against distemper and parvo.
