Story
Meet the squishy Diddy! He is elligible for foster-to-adopt!! Diddy is a 7 year old, 28lbs puggle mix from the Bronx. We received Diddy as a diverted intake from the local ACC in order to prevent him from going into the overcrowded shelter system.  Diddy unfortunately has dealt with a lot in the last couple years for our knowledge. Before coming to us we know he was passed around to multiple homes and people. Due to that, Diddy can be a bit of a nervous nelly. Hes got a lot of energy but hasn’t had much routine or structure in his life so he doesn’t know where to put.  For the last several weeks Diddy has been brushing up on his good boy skills with our trainer! We have learned Diddy is such a lover boy when his needs are properly met. He enjoys frequent games of tug & fetch with his person, as well as long walks exploring the neighborhood. He’s incredibly food motivated, as most pug mixes are, which makes his training that much easier! He enjoys working for his meals throughout the day whether on walks or learning some basic obedience.  Diddy can be great with other dogs with some management. He’s quite pushy with others and may not understand when other dogs want a break from playing with him. He’s looking for an owner who is aware or willing to learn how to read dog body language and intervene if Diddy is getting a little too excited with his canine friends.  Diddy has been trained using balanced methods and has thrived. His new owner will get two free training sessions to help acclimate him to his new environment. We strongly believe Diddy will be the type of dog to need few months of decompression and structure as he’s experienced so much uncertainty in his life he can be an anxious boy. While not a requirement, we do think Diddy would be more comfortable in a quieter neighborhood with an active family. Diddy is up to date on vaccines and prevention. He is scheduled for neuter on 4/24. Should he be adopted before this date his adopters will need to bring him to and from the appointment (2455 McDonald Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11223). To apply for Diddy, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##1972553##

Story
Diana is a 2-year-old, 13-pound female pug mix from Tijuana. She has adjusted very well during her time in Brooklyn. Diana enjoys head scratchies, cuddles, and zoomies with her foster brother. She is doing well understanding “sit” and working on other obedience training on walks, and in the house with furniture boundaries. During her time with her foster family, she is picking up on a potty schedule with routine walks and pee pads. Her forever family will need to reinforce the progress she has been making. Diana is still working on her leash skills. She looks to her person for ques, but is still learning recall and not pulling. She will at times protest walking if she needs a little break. She is still very responsive to her walker, especially with a little treat incentive.  Diana is an energetic, receptive, lovable pup. Diana has a bit of separation anxiety in the crate but eventually settles down. She has a harder time settling when crated with her people in the same room but her fosters are working on this with her. Her forever family will need to continue working with Diana in these areas to reinforce and advance the progress she's been making. She loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found stretching out on her foster's lap or with a bully stick. Diana is looking for a low key family.  She appreciates downtime, being outside and zoomies with her foster pug brother! She would do really well with another dog at home or could be a solo dog. Diana would be great in a home with children who are respectful of dogs. Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, canine coronavirus, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  To apply for Diana, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. Story
Dino is a 2-year-old, 18-pound male pug mix from Tijuana.Dino is a young, sweet, and loving pug mix. He’s got a lot of playful energy, but also loves to fall asleep snoring curled in your lap. He’s very friendly, and loves saying hi to everyone while on his walks. Dino is a typical Velcro pug, and loves to be by your side at all times. He would do great in a space with someone who works from home. He is super friendly with other dogs, and would even do great in a home with another friendly pup! He hasn’t been tested with cats, or kids but with his sweet and gentle nature, I’m sure he would do just fine. He is working on being potty trained, and is doing a great job. Dino is an absolute sweetheart and will steal your heart away!  Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, canine coronavirus, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
