Story
Have you heard the news??? Zara is available to be adopted . . . with NO ADOPTION FEE!! A huge thanks goes to Animal Legal Defense Fund for this! Because of ALDF, actress Kate Mara is sponsoring the adoption fee for some of our amazing dogs! Wow - can you believe it?? You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. She can be adopted at any time, and will be available to go to her new home when she graduates from the program in mid-December. November 1, 2024, 6:01 pm

Story
If you're looking for a feisty playmate, a super affectionate snuggle buddy, and an eager walking companion all rolled into one, you're looking for Rocky! He is a 5-year-old, 17 lb. rat terrier-Chihuahua mix who is full of energy and enthusiasm. He thrives on affection and physical contact (even teeth brushing!) and will want to hang out near you and soak up all the attention you can provide -- especially if that attention involves a game of tug, fetch, or chase. When you're busy, he will run around excitedly playing in your fenced yard or maybe just settle in for a quick nap. Rocky has had extensive training and is a quick learner who already knows many verbal cues like "sit", "lie down", "off", and "place". He is reliably house-trained, rides well in the car, and has nice manners. Despite all of Rocky's charm and devotion to his family, he is challenged by anxiety around new people and larger dogs, and encounters with strangers (both human and canine) can be loud and tense. Although he generally gets along with other dogs his size or smaller, he gets territorial in his home environment, so Rocky needs to be an only dog. He hasn't spent much time around cats, but he could likely learn to peacefully coexist with a calm, confident feline friend. With people, he will eventually learn to trust them and turn into a warm cuddle buddy, but in the beginning, strangers who don't want to risk being nipped shouldn't try to rush the process of becoming friends. If he is given that time and space, he will soon show his happy, affectionate, fun-loving side. If you have a fenced yard where he has space to run, no other animals or small children competing for resources or your attention, and few visitors, he will be in heaven. In the right home, Rocky will be happy, utterly devoted, affectionate, obedient, engaging, and your most faithful companion. Rocky reveals more in his photos at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/rocky   .       If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. NewRattitude.org/adopt/  From there, you can access our adoption application or contact our Adoption Team for more info.June 1, 2025, 12:52 pm

Story
All Southern Crescent Canine Rescue pets are spayed or neutered, all vaccinations are up to date, heartworm negative, and microchipped. We suggest follow-up intestinal worming two weeks after adoption.  We require monthly heartworm preventive after adoption!Sport is an active teenager! He can jump over your head for a toy, and loves to sit on your back. Really! He jumps onto your lap and crawls up your shoulders. Just adorable! He follows cars, whether he knows them or not, but he has no fear or knowledge that cars can hurt you if you stand in front of them. He has a mischievous glint in his eye. He is constantly thinking of trouble he can get into! Here's your squirrel dog, very intense prey drive (no cats, please!) Perfect little boy's best friend. He is devoted and loves his people. He's a pain, but an adorable pain. Great agility prospect! This little demon is one of a kind, thank goodness, and an instant mood enhancer (either happy or mad, your choice). You really need to experience Sport!                                  'We Are Rescue' Until you have held a tiny puppy in your arms as it kissed your face with slobbery puppy breath and felt the love, Until you have held an injured or severely ill dog in your arms and felt their pain, Until you have looked into the eyes of a tired aging senior dog and felt their wisdom, And until you have seen and understood the look in your dogs eyes that tell you their time on earth with you is over .... and you humanely let them go, You will never understand the life of a rescuer. We find beauty in the most incomprehensible places and the otherwise homely faces. It is our gift to see beyond the dirt, terror, sadness and defeat and find the true soul that lies within. Story
JoJo arrived a very shy boy,  abandoned in a single small crate.  Now much more confident and in a foster home with two other dogs, he has blossomed into a friendly well behaved boy!   He is housebroken, and good with other dogs and cats. We are working diligently to make these babies feel safe and loved.  Hopefully their forever families will come along soon and show them how humans are supposed to treat animals.  To Foster or Adopt JoJo, please apply at www.buttsmutts.com. ##2372570##
