Animal Profile: Kaycee is an adorable rat terrier mix that was rescued by a good Samaritan when she was spotted running on the highway. Lucky for her, she was ready to be rescued and happily went home with her finders. Several weeks passed, and no one claimed her. We couldn't resist saying yes to that sweet face, so Kaycee is on her way to the PNW for a new leash on life. She has been in foster care in Texas, and is good with dogs, cats and kids! Foster Update: Kaycee is a gem, she settled into foster care here as if she’s been around her whole life. She’s friendly with everyone and playful with other dogs. She’s picking up on our daily routines, and settles well in the crate after a few minutes. She would love other dogs to play with, and would be a fantastic family dog. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Debonair 11-year-old Jax is an active and smart boy who will be a wonderful companion for the right family! Jax is a 25 lb. rat terrier. He is in excellent physical condition after beating cancer (a mast cell tumor on his belly). Jax loves sunning himself, walking, jogging, playing with stuffed animals, and chasing a ball. He gets along well with small dogs he's introduced to in his home environment. He has been very nice to his foster siblings but can be protective of his space and might correct another dog who touches or steps on him with a yowl and small snap. Jax would be fine as a single dog or with a respectful smaller dog. Jax should not live with cats or other small pets. He does also have a bit of anxiety which has been greatly reduced with a stable schedule and increased exercise. Jax barks at the door when he needs to go out and is perfectly housetrained. He can be trusted to be free indoors and doesn't get into the trash, counter surf, or chew items. Don't let her age fool you - at 14 years, Lindsay is a very sweet lady who is a super snuggle bug and also very active. She loves to walk and play with squeaky toys. She is fine with other dogs but prefers the company of humans, especially the human she's most attached to. As she gets very attached her person, she can be protective of them and will growl or bark at others who interact with her human (she is more likely to react to human males).
