Story
Adorable little Mina is looking for a warm lap of her own. She is tiny 5.5lb girl that is approx 7yrs old. She is very curious and loves to run around and explore the yard so a fenced yard would be ideal. Otherwise, she’s very content just hanging out with her person. Mina is a quiet girl so she could be a great condo or office dog companion. She gets along wonderful with other animals, too, and would like another tiny dog in the home to cuddle with, but it’s not required. She loves all people but she can be a bit insecure so an adult only home is best. If you are interested in meeting this precious little girl please email k9cabbie@gmail.com and include your phone number.May 25, 2024, 11:42 am

Story
Hi, I am Shadow,They say that black dogs have a harder time getting adopted. I am not sure why because I think black is beautiful. I am an adult around 4 years old. I have lost all that puppy naughtiness, but I still love to play and cuddle and generally be a good girl. I will need some patience because I have a lot to learn when it comes to even the basics, but I am a quick study. Oh, and treats usually help with the learning. I am an active dog who would love to go for a good run every day. If you are a hiker, I think I would love that too. I am good with leash walking; I try not to pull and stay close to you. I like to play with other dogs once I am properly introduced. I haven’t been around children much and cats are made to be chased. Only my opinion! Right now, I spend most of my time outside because my foster mom works, but when I am inside, I know not to do any business in the house that is only for outside.I haven’t had many toys, I am content with a stick or a plastic bottle. Maybe you could teach me to chase a ball and bring it back to you. That would be fun!If it sounds like we could be a family together then just fill out the application and we can meet on a Zoom call.Could I be your little,Shadow To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rocky My name is Rocky. I was abandoned when my owners moved away. I don't know why they left me behind. But fortunately, I was fortunate enough to be found by kind people who helped me get my life back on track. I am a healthy and strong 5.5-year-old who gets along well with other dogs. I'm looking for a nice couple or an adult to be my forever companion. Sorry, I'm not sure about kids, as they tend to scare me. I have been neutered, microchipped, and I am up-to-date on my vaccines. I also had a complete dental check-up on November 29th, 2023.  I'm currently in Washington, having moved here from California, and I'm eagerly waiting to find my forever family. Cheryl, the founder of the rescue that took care of me, says that I have dreamy eyes and a sweet personality. I'm also very intelligent. However, I may be a bit shy and nervous initially because of all the scary experiences I've had in my life. But if you're patient and gentle with me, I promise to be your BFF forever. I do tend to like woman more then men but if a couple adopts me, just give me the time I need to get to know the man of the home and we can be good buddies. The rescue organization that is helping me find my new home says that I need a patient and experienced person who understands that trust takes time to build. I don't give my love easily, but when I do, you'll have my whole heart. I growl at strangers in the home, but with fear-free training, patience, and love, I can learn to trust again. I'm a love bucket waiting to be filled with affection from my new companion. I trust women more than men, but I can learn to trust anyone who is kind and caring. How Can You Meet Rocky? Please use this link to apply, One of our volunteers will review the application and call to follow up with questions, answer yours, and see if you are a match  Rocky has been transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble in place of a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate his adopters on proper diet and nutrition for him and his new buddies. To apply to adopt Rocky, he has a $550.00 adoption fee.  All monies will be recycled to cover medical care and rescue more dogs. Please fill out the online application using this link.  Please be thorough in your answers and expound whenever possible so we get to know you and can make the best match.       https ://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 26, 2024, 1:25 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. SOPHIES' JOURNEY. Sophie was discovered as a young puppy wandering the streets of Bakersfield. Sadly, her head was covered in injuries caused by an unknown animal. The rescue team that found her took her to the vet and discovered that Sophie was blind. She was in a vulnerable state, and it was shocking to think that she had been wandering the streets blind, alone, hungry, and scared. Sophie is 1-year-old, spayed and current on vaccines. She is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. She loves to bond to a woman and can be slowly introduced to men and she will be fine. Sophie learns her environment quickly and navigates it so well you would scarcely know she is blind. It will not be easy to walk her on a lead, so having a good size yard that she can run in circles and play while under supervision is the best scenario for her. She lives to chew on her split deer antler and squeaky toys, to spend tim with her person cuddling and rolling over for belly rubs and playing. Sophie wags her tail furiously in anticipation when you are entering a room, she is so happy to know you are there. If you love a snuggle pup and have the time to spend with this wonderful girl, then you may just be a match. Update: We recently introduces Sophie to two very friendly Maltese-poodles and once she realized they were not going to hurt her, they quickly became friends. Sophie is so pleased to have dog buddies to share her days here at the rescue. Miss Sophie is still on the lookout for her forever family. Sophie is a bundle of love, affection, and surprises. Her playful nature, love for cuddles, and unique 'Air Paws' greeting make her a delightful companion. She's eagerly waiting to bring joy to a loving home. Story
Handsome 10-year-old Jax will make an excellent companion to the person or persons who can help him feel safe. A purebred rat terrier weighing 25 lbs., Jax has been working on reducing his anxiety, which was likely caused by the discomfort of skin allergies, a manifestation of a cancerous mast cell tumor. With the tumor removed and Jax cancer free for over one year, his skin issues are now under control (although he must still avoid food containing chicken). Today Jax is a much happier dog, who likes sunning himself and also walking, jogging, and playing ball; physical activity, in turn, helps further reduce any residual anxiety. With proper introduction, Jax will even play nicely with new dogs, more quickly enjoying the company of smaller dogs, especially females. However, he can scuffle with any dog who ignores his body language or doesn't respect his space. He could easily be a single dog or live with one other dog who is independent or who at least honors boundaries. Due to his moderate prey drive, Jax shouldn't live with cats or other small pets.   Jax adjusts to new routines well and sticks close to his humans. He loves to cuddle but isn't really a lapdog. He's polite around new people if they're introduced in a positive way. However, he hates being picked up, and he'll defend that sentiment with his teeth and wouldn't enjoy being around children. Although he's no fan of crates, it's not really an issue, as he has impeccable house manners. He has never had an indoor potty accident, 'emptied' the trash, or counter surfed. Life has given this good boy a sensitive soul. If you nurture it, Jax will give you his heart. See more photos of Jax at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/jax .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Poppy! Poppy is a 6yr old, Terrier mix, spayed female and up to date on vaccines/preventatives. She is house trained, kennel trained, and vehicle trained as well. Poppy is a medium energy dog; feisty and likes to socialize BUT she's a little crusty on the outside and super gooey on the inside. She loves her people and her friends; however, you'll need to earn her trust. Poppy can be energetic, plays casually and enjoys sustained games of chase with her friends, on her terms (fun police.) She can get cranky if play becomes too vigorous and she gets pounced on too much/hard. Poppy has a little bit of arthritis, and it can be painful, so she will gladly retreat to the door to let you know she is done with playtime. She is more than willing to go inside, follow you around or curl up, chill, and get her belly rubbed. Being small but mighty, Poppy occasionally has bouts of barking at what she sees moving in the distance and will go zooming up and down the fence line in arousal of anyone/thing approaching; however, she will calm down on her own with minimal intervention from her person. When greeting you, Poppy displays the typical wiggle body and wildly wagging tail. Have you seen how long her tail is?! It waves like a banner over her back and is simply adorable! She may initially hop up to put her feet on you, letting you know she's happy and wants to interact with you, she loves attention and will display a little eagerness to get more loves... so saying her name as she's being petted, and the name of the other dog(s) being petted keeps her content. Noteworthy Behaviors: Poppy displays barrier reactivity with new people/surroundings as a way to express her anxiety in the situation. She will need a person or family, (with older children), who will understand and take their time with her. Once you win her over, she is gold! She is quirky about having her collar touched so she will whine, cower down, and roll to her side. She will display mouthy behavior as you attempt to put a leash on her, but she genuinely wants to go out so don't give up! She will pop right up and head to the door after being leashed!! Key points to consider when adopting Poppy: she is sugar and spice with bursts of energy so great with a laid back and an active family. Honorable mention: Poppy does have a housemate, Sully, who is also up for adoption. If you're looking for two friends, then they are your duo! They would have an easier transition into a new home together but they are not bonded. $200 Local adoption fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes transport to your area) $50 Fuel temporary fuel surcharge
