Story
Hello there, I’m Hot Dog! But you can call me Hot Digity if you’re feeling extra friendly. I’m a senior fella, 13 pounds, 15 years old, and I’m looking for a quiet, loving home where I can relax, snuggle, and be the good boy I am.I’ve had a bit of a rough start, coming from a hoarding situation, but I’m healthy and happy now, thanks to my wonderful foster mom. I’ve had a couple of surgeries recently—cherry eye surgery, a dental cleaning, and some extractions, but don’t worry, I’m feeling good! I eat soft food and small kibble just fine, and I’m pretty easy-going about it all.I may be an older guy, but I still enjoy meeting new people (humans, that is—I’m not too sure about other dogs, especially if they don’t understand my cute little grunt-growl when I’m getting all snuggly). My foster mom’s dogs don’t really get me, but I’m cool with other dogs as long as they’re respectful of my personal space. I like to take it easy, resting and enjoying my snuggles, but I do bark when someone unfamiliar comes by. That’s just my way of saying, “Hey, who’s there?”I’m crate trained and a good listener, very attentive to my foster mom’s requests. I’m still working on my potty training, but I’m making great progress. I walk well on a leash now, and I love to meet new humans. My foster mom says I’m a good dog and that she wishes we had more one-on-one time, but I’m happy with whatever I get, as long as I get my snuggles!I’m heartworm positive, and doing the slow kill method so it’s easier on me. I just want to live out my golden years in a clean, loving environment where I can feel safe and cherished. So, if you’re looking for a quiet companion who just wants to be your best friend, I might be the one for you. I’m ready for my second chance. Could you be my person?*My adoption fee is partially sponsored to help me find a loving forever home!*IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.May 5, 2025, 11:29 am

Story
Snowy is as cute as can be! This little Rat Terrier mix makes fast friends and will show off to catch your attention - it usually involves a fancy spin! We don't know how Snowy is with other dogs or cats, so any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. Snow can be a little shy at first and will likely do best with older kids who can handle him gently. If you're ready to welcome home this terrific terrier, make an adoption appointment to meet him today!

Story
Debonair 11-year-old Jax is an active and smart boy who will be a wonderful companion for the right family! Jax is a 25 lb. rat terrier.  He is in excellent physical condition after beating cancer (a mast cell tumor on his belly).  Jax loves sunning himself, walking, jogging, playing with stuffed animals, and chasing a ball. He gets along well with small dogs he's introduced to in his home environment. He has been very nice to his foster siblings but can be protective of his space and might correct another dog who touches or steps on him with a yowl and small snap. Jax would be fine as a single dog or with a respectful smaller dog.  Jax should not live with cats or other small pets. He does also have a bit of anxiety which has been greatly reduced with a stable schedule and increased exercise.  Jax barks at the door when he needs to go out and is perfectly housetrained. He can be trusted to be free indoors and doesn't get into the trash, counter surf, or chew items. Jax might have a tough exterior, but he has a soft, loving heart for someone who is willing to take the time to understand him.See more photos of Jax at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/jax .Beginning March 1, 2025, our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs or $300 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
Cherri is a sweet and energetic girl who would love a family of her own! She is about 1 year-old and a svelte 20 lbs. She's very energetic but so sweet and loves other dogs and humans too. She does have a strong prey drive and chases small animals and is likely to chase cats. Cherri loves to run and explore, though she can get a bit excited and bark and pull, so she'll need a bit of guidance on walking etiquette. When inside, Cherri isn't destructive at all and just wants to sit in a human's lap for cuddles. Cherri can become very excited around food -- she might jump up and down at dinner time but she is eager to learn nice manners! Cherri is lovely young girl who is already house-trained, and she would surely make a great companion for an active person or family. For more photos of Cherri, see https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/cherri !  Beginning March 1, 2025, our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs or $300 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
Beautiful brown-eyed Cedar is as pretty as they come. Weighing close to 15 lbs., 8-year-old Cedar enjoys being mellow most of the time, napping in the sun, daily short walks, and most importantly exploring her fenced-in backyard. Cedar comes from a breeding situation, where she had limited positive interactions with humans, so she's shy and very skittish. Taking things very slowly and giving her time to warm up (along with lots of treats), she'll be your new best friend asking for attention and ready for belly rubs. Since Cedar startles easily, she prefers walking in quiet areas where she won't encounter a lot of strangers, loud noises, or dogs. Also, a securely fenced-in yard is a must and having a dog-door is even better. It has become clear that Cedar trusts women much more than men and will need to have a woman as her primary person. She loves her foster dad but only when her foster mom is home. She does have some separation anxiety, so she is looking for a woman who either works from home or is retired. Cedar currently sleeps well in her crate every night but would probably love sleeping with her person once she feels safe.Cedar has gotten along well with the other six dogs in her foster homes, relying on them for comfort and joining in at barking at the wildlife. She has also done very well with the two cats in her foster home. She doesn't often play with her foster siblings but does readily snuggle up to dogs and humans alike. Cedar would do best living with at least one other considerate, gentle dog.  Cedar has a wonderful personality, is a fairly low-maintenance dog and has been a joy to her foster family. She's also as cute as a button and she loves blankets especially when they are just out of the warm dryer! See more photos of this sweet girl at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/cedar .  Beginning March 1, 2025, our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs or $300 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
Sweet Pixie is an adorable, tiny rat terrier mix at only 5 lbs.! Since moving in with her foster, Pixie has adjusted to life in the Pacific Northwest well and is ready for her forever home! Pixie is estimated to be 1 year-old and is very shy with humans. However, she loves other dogs and will play and run around for hours when she is in the company of a friendly and playful dog. For this reason, she would do best in a home with at least one canine sibling. She'd likely be good with cats or smaller animals as long as there are other dogs present since she often follows the lead of other dogs.   With little Pixie you can have it all -- she is young and puppy-like but she is also full house-trained and well-mannered! If you can provide the stable family that Pixie so craves, please apply to give her a new life and a forever home today. Story
Hi there! My name is Goduri, and I’m a 7-month-old girl with a gentle heart and a whole lot of love to give. Life didn’t start easy for me—I was rescued with my siblings from a scary situation and was even on the euthanasia list. But now, I’m growing into a happy, affectionate pup who just wants to love and be loved! I absolutely adore people—grown-ups, kids, everyone! I might be a tiny bit shy at first with strangers, but give me just a moment and I’ll be showing off my best wiggles and cuddles. I’m not scared of men either and warm up to them really quickly. I get along well with other dogs too! I’ve met small pups and big gentle ones during walks, and I’ve played nicely with all of them. I think I could be happy either as the only dog in the home or with another friendly furry sibling. I do feel a little sad when my dog friends disappear, so a home with another dog might be extra comforting for me. I’m working on my potty training and doing pretty well both indoors and outdoors. I use pee pads accurately most of the time, though when I get really excited, I might have a tiny accident—but I’m learning! Guess what? I know some basic commands too! If you have treats, I’ll gladly show you how I can sit, give paw, lie down, and wait. I’m a smart cookie! I’m not much of a barker. I might let out a bark or two when someone new approaches, but overall, I’m a quiet and calm companion. Walks are becoming one of my favorite things! Sometimes I get so excited I want to run, and other times I take it slow and observe everything around me. Loud car noises or fluttery objects still surprise me a bit, but I’m getting braver every day. I also get curious about cats and birds—just want to get a closer look! What makes me special? My sweet, calm nature and how I always try to make people smile. I’m gentle, patient, and have the softest eyes that will melt your heart. I just love being close to my humans, sharing love and quiet moments together. If you’re looking for a kind, affectionate friend to grow with you and fill your home with warmth, I think we’d make the perfect match. I can’t wait to meet you and start our journey together!
