Story
Bandit and Minnie are a pair of chihuahua and rat terrier mixes. Bandit is about 10lbs and Minnie is about 7lbs Both have come from Bakersfield, CA, and we don't know anything about their home habits. We think they've come from Bandit is shy at first and needs work on a leash. He does well with other dogs. He's sweet and will give you kisses, and actively seeks your attention. Minnie is shy and is under-socialized with people. It'll take some work to get her to come out of her shell. She's kenneled with her pal bandit. She can be vocal when you first approach her kennel, but it's all bluff. Minnie freezes and isn't super comfortable being picked up. They are good with other dogs. They rely on each other for comfort. Our rescue has had a lot of experience with these behaviors. They need some love and attention and will come around on their own. He is neutered and she will be spayed. Both will be microchipped, and are up to date on vaccinations. Their combined adoption fee is $600.

Story
Wilma is pretty spry for an older lady! She's about 15 pounds and 10 years old, and she loves walks and walks really well on leash. She is potty trained and does well with other dogs and kids. Her favorite activities are napping and snacking. She also enjoys sunbathing. She can climb stairs with carpeting and hops up them like a bunny. She needs to be lifted onto a couch or chair. Wilma would love to be your snuggle buddy! Can you give her the forever she's longing for?IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or $200 for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as ''Out of Town'' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.May 29, 2023, 8:46 pm

Story
Handsome 7-year-old Jax is an active boy, who loves all kinds of physical play and activity (jogging, playing ball, running with stuffed toys, and taking long walks). The 25-lb. rat terrier needs a lot of stimulation and exercise to quell his anxiety, which often takes the form of repetitive barking if his activity needs for the day are not met.  Jax can be a little reluctant to meet new humans and doesn't like to be touched by them. Once someone has earned his trust, he is very sweet and likes pets and spending time in their presence. However, he doesn't like to cuddle or to be picked up at all and will bite if picked up or touched in a way that is painful or threatening. He likes to sleep close to humans and other dogs but does best in his own bed. In his foster home, Jax has adjusted quickly and follows the lead of his canine foster siblings. He doesn't directly interact with any of them but proceeds throughout the day based on what they are doing. He has shown protective behavior of his food and sleeping area and will get in minor scuffles to protect his resources. He would be good in a home with another dog who is detached and independent or will at least mind his space. He would also be good as a single dog but may take longer to settle in. He hasn't been around cats but would probably be incompatible with them (or any small animals) as he has a moderate prey drive. Jax is fully house-trained and has never had an accident in the house. Plus, he's super healthy except for an allergy to chicken that manifests in ear infections and body rashes. On walks, Jax does pull on his leash a bit and loves to stop and sniff, but on jogs, he stays to the right and keeps pace well. He rides nicely in a car but doesn't like to be in a crate at all (even in the house). Indoors, he doesn't participate in naughty behavior like raiding the trash, counter surfing, or chewing on people's possessions. He's neither a digger nor an escape artist; he IS a neatnik, who keeps his toys in one place. (Now THAT's worth points!) You can see more photos of Jax at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/jax . Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. NewRattitude.org/adopt/  From there, you can access our adoption application or contact our Adoption Team for more info. May 26, 2023, 11:28 am

OUR CONTACT IS THROUGH FACEBOOK MESSENGER. https://www.facebook.com/REDRescueEveryDog/ Meet Comet! (Estimated DOB 5.2018, estimated weight 25lbs). Comet is a fun and smart dog, with a love for people. He truly lives to please you, and would like to spend all his time hanging out with his family, whatever they may be doing. While in foster care he has shown to hang out (but not really play) with other kind dogs but would also be fine as an only dog. He is clean in his crate, walks well on lead and knows sit and shake. Comet has shown to be an easy going guy, but will thrive in a home that will provide him with rules and structure, for this reason we are looking for an adult only home. Due to his noise level he is not a match to apartments. TThis dog requires a fenced yard. We seek fully fenced yards with a physical, visible fence. Typically, the fence must be connected to the house/ a door in the home, and the dog safe fenced area must exclude driveway and car access. Shock/electronic fences will not be approved for most dogs. A sturdy, high quality crate is also required (due to safety concerns, no wire or soft crates will be accepted. Impact, Ruffland, 4 point contact locking door Skyline, Zinger Winger, etc type crate). We will be considering homes in W. Wa and possibly Oregon, no other out of state adoptions at this time Adoption donation is $500. THIS DOG IS IN FOSTER CARE IN POULSBO, WA. Story
NAME: Maureen Robinson (part of our "Lost in Space" group)   AGE/GENDER: 7 year old female   BREED: Rat terrier/Chihuahua mix   TEMPERAMENT: Active, playful, loving   HOUSE TRAINING: Great!   CRATE TRAINING: Good!   OTHER DOGS: She would probably prefer to be the only dog in the home.   CATS: Probably not.   CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older   ADOPTION DONATION: $500   HEALTH: She is spayed, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines.  Your adoption donation goes toward offsetting the cost of this vet care as well as other incidental costs of care.    HISTORY:  Maureen was abandoned by her family when they moved away. She was rescued from dangerous conditions outside near busy streets. Our friends at Bone Voyage Rescue asked us to find her a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!   NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME:  Maureen is playful, affectionate and athletic.  She gets so excited to go on walks and runs around the back yard like a mini greyhound.  She is also very affectionate and loves to cuddle next to a person and get attention.  She will engage in play with her foster sister, but also likes to have her quiet time in her doggy bed.  She would also prefer to keep her toys to herself and wants to be number one when getting attention from her people.  Maureen is house trained when kept on a consistent schedule.  She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate and rides well in a crate in the car.  Maureen is very responsive to commands but still needs some training around jumping and play biting as well as leash pulling.  Maureen loves her food and is very gentle taking treats, and has learned to sit before getting a treat.  Maureen is such a sweet, loving companion and is looking for a forever home that will continue to work on training and give her all the attention she craves   All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar (or a harness, if necessary), depending on each dog's particular needs. Each dog also receives a "Tour Gear Bag" full of brochures, coupons, and supplies for your new pup!   ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue! We are a rock and roll themed, volunteer-run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Motley Zoo is a FOSTER BASED organization, which means our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes (or partnering pet stores) where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. We do not have animals available for casual viewing and same day adoption. Due to the volunteer run structure and decentralized/ virtual  nature of a foster based group, an approved application is required to make an adoption appointment for any of our animals. If you are interested in one of our Adoptable Roadies, please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application (the auto-responder also has a link to our application). We will work toward getting you approved as an adopter so that we can set a time for you to meet your new best friend! Motley Zoo also runs "Rock Star Treatment Dog Daycare" in Redmond, WA where proceeds from this service, help support our rescue's vet budget- however, this is NOT a shelter. For more information about daycare or training, check out www.rockstartreatment.org. Please visit our website www.motleyzoo.org for more information! Thanks for considering adoption- we look forward to helping you find your best match in a furry friend. Rock on- The Motley Zoo Crew May 29, 2023, 10:16 pm

Story
Annie is a gentle, loving. 13 year-old, Jack Russell terrier mix. She loves to be a lap dog or to stay near her people. She is in excellent health. Because she is an older dog she usually likes to sleep in her bed or cuddling up near her owners. She is fully housebroken as long as she has access to the outdoors. Annie is the beloved pet of our daughter and son-in-law but was brought into our home last summer when our grandchildren became a bit too energetic for her. Annie definitely does best in a calm and quiet environment. We are now looking to find a new home for Annie because one of our other dogs has become too aggressive toward her. Annie is not at all aggressive but we now need to segregate the two dogs for Annie's protection. We love Annie but are worried that her life with us is too limited now that we can't let her be alone with our more aggressive dog. We think Annie would be a wonderful companion dog in a calm, loving home
