Story
PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org. **Hi, I’m Zippy!** 🐾 I’m a 3-year-old Chi x Rat Terrier mix — a tiny 14-pound package with giant ears, endless energy, and a whole lot of personality! I’ve never met a stranger in my life. Two legs or four, I’m ready to be best friends immediately. My tail goes full helicopter mode the second I see someone I like (which is pretty much everyone). I get along great with other dogs (I love playing with my foster siblings), but what I’m really dreaming of is a person or family of my very own to shower with nonstop love and ridiculous devotion. I’m happiest when I’m glued to my humans, following them everywhere like a happy little shadow. I’m a smart cookie too! I’ve mastered the dog door like a pro and I’m doing awesome with house training. I’ve got that classic Rat Terrier spunk mixed with Chihuahua charm, so I’d love an active family who can keep up with my playful zoomies while giving me plenty of affection and attention. If you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, big-eared best friend who will greet you with maximum excitement every single day, I might be your perfect little match! Ready to bring home the happiest 14 pounds on the planet? Let’s do this! ❤️

Story
Animal Profile: Hugo is a 2-year-old, 13-pound Rat Terrier mix with a big personality packed into a small frame! This cheerful little guy is full of spunk and loves to play. Sadly, Hugo found himself at risk in an overcrowded shelter simply because there wasn’t enough space. But despite it all, he never lost his happy spirit or wagging tail. His playful energy and friendly nature shine through in every interaction. Foster Update:  This spirited 2-year-old Rat Terrier mix joined our rescue last November and has been making impressive progress ever since. Early on, Hugo showed some bitey behaviors around handling and resources he wasn’t ready to share, but with the help of a dedicated foster team and professional training, he’s come a long way. Hugo has spent months working with a balanced trainer and has really thrived. He loves learning, enjoys training sessions, and is always up for playtime. He’s an active, outgoing little guy who would do best with someone who can continue to engage both his body and mind. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and rides well in the car. Hugo can be a bit vocal when he gets excited and definitely has a touch of FOMO, he likes to be part of the action! He warms up quickly to new people and enjoys making new friends. Hugo is looking for an adult-only home with experienced dog owners who understand how to provide structure and consistency. E collar experience is a bonus, but being willing to learn is a necessity. To set everyone up for success, his trainer will offer a go-home lesson and follow-up support to help ease the transition. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Stanislaus shelter in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 11/13 via START. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.July 27, 2026, 7:54 pm

Story
Anastacia: The Reluctant PrincessAnastacia has not yet decided what she thinks about strangers. This is not because she is unfriendly. It is because, as any sensible princess knows, one should never hand out royal privileges too quickly. When Anastacia meets someone new, she prefers to observe first. She watches. She thinks. She gathers information. Then, little by little, she decides whether you seem worthy of her friendship.Fortunately, Anastacia's standards become much easier to meet once she gets to know you.Additional evidence that Anastacia is, in fact, a princess can be found here: https://hope4lapawz.org/wp1/anastacia-2026043D.Underneath her careful introduction process is a sweet, playful puppy who loves toys, enjoys adventures, and considers splashing in water to be one of life's greatest inventions. She also adores other dogs and would happily spend her days running, playing, and inventing games with her canine friends. In fact, Anastacia firmly believes that every kingdom should include both toys and playmates.Like all young puppies, she is still learning about the world. Every day brings new discoveries, new experiences, and new opportunities to practice the important skills of being a happy family dog.Anastacia's story began under difficult circumstances. She and her family were found searching for food, hungry and struggling to survive. Thankfully, those days are behind her now.Today, Anastacia is focused on much more important matters: collecting toys, making friends, taking naps, and finding the perfect family.Preferably one willing to recognize her royal status. After all, every princess deserves a kingdom of her own. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.

Karlota: Collector of KissesKarlota believes there are many wonderful things in the world.Toys are wonderful.Running is wonderful.Playing with sisters is wonderful.Putting her paws in the water is wonderful. But if you ask Karlota to choose her favorite thing, the answer is easy.Kisses.Karlota is a cheerful little puppy who approaches life with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a deep appreciation for affection. She loves games, adventures, and discovering new things, but she is equally happy being carried around and receiving little kisses on her head, which she considers one of life's greatest treasures. Those interested in contributing to Karlota's kiss collection may find additional photos and videos here: https://hope4lapawz.org/wp1/karlota-2026042D.When Karlota meets someone new, she can be a little shy at first. She prefers to take a moment to decide whether everything is safe and friendly. Fortunately, her investigation process is much shorter than it sounds. Before long, her sweet and loving personality begins to shine. She loves other dogs, enjoys running and playing, and would be delighted to have canine siblings to share her adventures with. In her opinion, every good home should include toys, friendship, and regular opportunities for fun.Like her sisters, Karlota's story began under difficult circumstances. She was found searching for food with her family, hungry and struggling to survive. Thankfully, those days are behind her now.Today, Karlota is focused on much more important matters: collecting toys, making friends, earning kisses, and finding a family to love.A family with plenty of affection would be especially appreciated. After all, every great collection needs room to grow. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. Story
Welcome Atticus to CCPAL Rescue. Atticus is a Rat Terrier from the local breeder in Texas. He is a traditional Black and Tan Rat Terrier. He was born on March 12, 2026. He will be getting his vaccinations, neutered, dewormed and ready for his forever home. He will be a small dog full grown. 15 to 18 pounds or less. Atticus was really good in his photo shoot and sat like a big dog getting photos. Atticus is one of the middle-sized boys. He is playful and very sweet. The breeder for this litter is closing shop due to an illness. We have agreed to help get her population down starting with the puppies. This breed is smart, loyal and the puppies are affectionate. Someone who knows this breed would be best. They are energetic so a moderately active family or more active would be best for the Rat Terrier. Atticus would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Rat Terriers are great family pets and watchdogs for their family. Their training is easier due to their intelligence and a light touch is needed. They are a wonderfully sensitive breed and from experience want to do what you are asking. Atticus is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. We have an entire litter of Rat Terriers. They are from a breeder. We don’t have papers but they are considered pure bred pups. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video

**Nyssa, A gorgeous Whippet- Jack Russell Mix**   Introducing Nyssa, a truly exceptional one-year-old Jack Russell Terrier-Whippet mix with a short coat. This delightful pup perfectly blends gentleness and strength, feistiness and confidence—wrapped in a personality that is simply irresistible. At this pivotal stage in her life, Nyssa is ready to flourish and thrive with the loving family she deserves. This is your chance to make a lasting difference in her world!   While Nyssa may be a bit shy at first, she quickly opens up and builds trust with kind encouragement. An active family would be her perfect match, providing the companionship she needs to channel her boundless energy into thrilling adventures and meaningful training. Intelligent and eager to learn, Jack Russells excel with proper guidance, and with the Whippet’s calm and gentle nature, Nyssa is the ideal partner for anyone excited about training and outdoor fun. Just imagine the incredible bond you could create together!   It’s important to note that this unique breed has a strong prey drive, so its future home should be free of small animals and cats. To ensure a harmonious environment, we are particularly looking for families with children over 10 years old who have experience with dogs.   Nyssa's stunning short coat boasts beautiful brown spots against a pristine white background, complemented by her long back and medium-short legs, which create an adorable silhouette. Her robust, muscular build not only hints at her potential as a fantastic hiking or agility partner but also promises a life overflowing with joy and excitement. Picture all the adventures waiting for you with Nyssa by your side!     **Adopting Nyssa** To adopt Nyssa, please use the link below. One of our volunteers will review your application and follow up with you to ask questions, address any concerns you may have, and determine if you are a good match for this pup. If a match is made, the next step will be a meet-and-greet. Please use a computer to complete the application, as tablets and cell phones may disrupt the process. Nyssa has transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble, focusing instead on a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate her adopters on proper diet and nutrition.   The adoption fee for Nyssa is $350   All funds will be utilized to cover her medical care and to rescue more dogs in need. www.smallpupsrescue.org Nyssa has a bonded dog adoption fee of $595.00 if adopted as a bonded pair with her best buddy, Luna.      July 24, 2026, 8:30 pm

Story
**KIWI** Kiwi is a seven-year-old purebred Jack Russell Terrier with a big personality. He loves chasing balls, going for car rides, walks, and running in the sun. Like many Jack Russells, he can get possessive over toys, so if he lives with or visits other dogs, it's best to put toys away. Kiwi has never had to share his things before, so he can be protective of them. He would do best as the only dog in the home, but with careful management of toys, he can live with other dogs without problems. Kiwi enjoys car rides and is always ready for an adventure. At home during the day, he keeps himself busy chewing on an elk antler or napping. In the mornings and evenings, he likes spending time with people. Kiwi came to us from an overcrowded shelter after his owner passed away, and no family members could take him. He arrived with a limp, but after a week of eating a high-quality diet, taking joint supplements, using a muscle builder, and going on gentle, longer walks, he is moving much better. However, the vet suspects trauma to his spine. We are scheduling X-rays to determine where any trauma lies. Kiwi is an active pup, and we will pass on the findings to his potential adopters.  We ask that his adopters continue with this food and supplement routine to help him stay healthy and active. Kiwi should have his hip checked by a vet, but we are happy with his progress and believe his stiffness was mostly due to being kept in a small cat cage at the shelter. Kiwi is affectionate, curious, and adventurous, and he bonds quickly with people. Because of his strong prey drive, he needs a home without small animals, including cats. He would do well with older children who are experienced with dogs. **Adopting Kiwi** To adopt, please use the link below. One of our volunteers will review your application and follow up with you to ask questions, address any concerns, and determine whether you are a good match for this pup. If a match is made, the next step will be a meet-and-greet. Please use a computer to complete the application, as tablets and cell phones may disrupt the process. Kiwi has transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble and focuses on a healthy, canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate his adopters on proper diet and nutrition. The adoption fee for Kiwi is $395 and includes his vaccinations, rabies vaccination, microchip, and neuter.   www.smallpupsrescue.org     July 24, 2026, 8:30 pm
