Barkley is a sweet 5 yr old rottie mix. She has been in rescue over 3 years. She needs to find her forever home. She does have a high prey drive, so no cats or small dogs. She has done absolutely fine with older children. She has not been exposed to smaller kids other than walking through the store and did fine. She has been completely vetted and is house and crate trained. She loves her belly rubs and will often wait for you to give her one before coming inside. This boy is the last of the litter still looking for a home. He is very friendly, loves to play and would love an active family. He gets along with other dogs and doesn't have to be the alpha. He will need all the puppy training as he's never been inside of a house. He is a quick learner and is learning manners when greeting people (he's a bit jumpy). He is a fun boy who just wants to have a good time. He is located in Tennessee but can be transported through Rescue Riders.

LINUS – 7 month male. Linus was found by a kind lady who took him into her home. She searched for his owner, even had him scanned for a chip. After all efforts met a dead end, we were asked if we could help. Linus is such a sweet boy who will climb in your lap for snuggles. He is still on the thin side, but when he reaches his ideal weight could be a big boy. While Linus was waiting, he spent his time playing with the family rottweiler and chihuahua. Linus does know some basic commands, is crate trained and close to housebroken. If there are children in his new family, we recommend they are over the age of 5. Story
Mikey formerly Mike Tyson is one of 4 doberman/lab mixes that arrived here years ago as puppies. They all had human boxer names. He was adopted 3 years ago and when his family’s circumstances changed, rather than contact the rescue for assistance in rehoming him, his family gave him away to a coworker about 1 1/2 ago. Rover Rescue only learned of this because he was found by animal control and we were notified. He is skin and bones and has hair loss due to fleas and possibly mange. Animal Control was going to put him down because he was so scared and growling. I am so thankful that we were called!! Mikey is now back in foster care and doing great. He is being treated for his skin rash and he is loving all his furry friends. He is very sweet and was only growling because he was so terrified. It would’ve been a tragedy to lose him. This is the second time this poor fella found himself needing his life to be saved. He is looking for a FOREVER home. One where he can live the good life and not a hint of worry about where his next meal is coming from or if he has a tomorrow! It will take a little time for his coat to fill back in to the beautiful black and brindle boy that he was. He is house trained, crate trained, and sniffed the kitties at the vet without issue. He is also bilingual. He understands some English and Spanish commands. He is good with other dogs and people. He is altered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Story
This handsome guy is Grover. He is a 2 year old boxer mix. He is a big boy weighing in at 70 pounds. This guy has had a bit of a rough start. He came into Rover Rescue with an injury to his knee. While waiting for surgery he injured his other knee. He has a long road to recovery, but will eventually be able to lead a normal life. He recently had a TPLO to fix one of his knees. He has been doing great with recovery. He does have exercises that need to be done to help strengthen his knee. He will need the same surgery on his other knee, which Rover Rescue will pay for as long as our vet is used. Grover also has some behavioral issues we have been working through. He has had some resource guarding over rawhides. We have worked with him and he is doing well, but he will need an adult only home. He also needs a dog savvy home because he can be very strong willed. He needs rules and structure in his life. We do have a trainer willing to help work with him once he is adopted. He has come a long way during his time with Rover Rescue. He will make a great companion with some work. Grover is crate trained and goes in willingly when his family goes to work and at bed time. He does get sad when his family leaves though and can get vocal sometimes. Due to this he would probably not do well with apartment life. Grover can be dog selective. He is living with two 25 pound dogs and does well with them, but probably should not be with anything smaller as he does not realize his size. He will need slow introductions and would do best with a submissive female dog. He would do great as an only dog as well. He should not go to a home with cats or other small animals. Grover loves car rides and going on walks. Once healed from his surgeries he will make a great adventure buddy. He can get strong on leash, but does really well with his gentle leader. We have been doing a lot of walks in the neighborhood to help strengthen his knee. Grover loves to play with toys. He will bring them to you to throw and loves tug. We haven’t been able to play rough, but he still loves having the toys around. Once he has gotten his energy out he is a snuggle bug. He loves to be on the couch by his people, but is currently having to stay on the floor until he is fully healed from both surgeries. He does like his comfy dog beds. Sometimes he will come and lay by my feet too. He has a goofy side that tends to come out too the more comfortable he gets. Grover is going to need some work, but he is worth it.
