HARLEY – 1 year female. Harley is a silly, goofy, puppy and full of puppy energy. She loves to play ball or just have a ball. Harley is housebroken and crate trained. She does know some basic commands but would benefit from an obedience class. Harley came from a home with other dogs, but has not been with cats. She needs a family that will be committed to her. If there are children in her new family, we recommend they are over the age of 8. Story
Hi, I’m Bernie and I’m ready to find my forever home!  Dog’s Name: Bernie Location: De Soto, Mo Date of Birth: 5/27/2022 Gender: Male  Breed: Rottie Mix Color: Black Dog's Weight: 70 Gets along with: Dogs?: All dogs Cats?:  Not yet tested Kids?: Not yet tested Training: Potty Trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides well in car Meet Bernie Bernie — a fun-loving Rottweiler whose two greatest passions in life are people and Frisbees. At 4 years old, Bernie is a happy, confident guy who greets his favorite humans with the classic Rottie lean and enough affection to make you feel like the most important person in the world. He thrives on attention, loves being part of the action, and is always ready for his next game of fetch. If you have a Frisbee, you already have Bernie's heart. He loves to run, chase, and show off his unique style by carrying his Frisbee around, tossing it into the air, and entertaining himself between throws. An active family that enjoys spending time outdoors would be a dream come true for him. Bernie is crate trained, potty trained, and settles nicely in his kennel on command. He's a smart boy who enjoys routine and has excellent recall. One thing his future family should know is that Bernie gets very excited about food and tends to eat too quickly, so he'll need a slow-feeder bowl or meals divided into smaller portions to keep him safe and comfortable. We're still learning about Bernie's preferences with other animals. He did well meeting a female dog and is currently working through slow introductions with male dogs in his foster home. His compatibility with cats is unknown, but he has shown a strong prey drive and is not a good fit for a home with chickens or other small livestock. Bernie is looking for a family that will embrace his playful spirit and give him plenty of opportunities to run, play, and be included in daily life. He would especially love a home with children to toss a ball or Frisbee for him and enjoy all the love this big, goofy boy has to offer. If you're looking for a loyal companion, a dedicated Frisbee partner, and a dog who will happily lean against you for affection, Bernie may be the perfect addition to your family. JOE aka CUJO'S PLACEMENT FEE HAS BEEN WAIVED (all placement procedures and policies apply) UPDATE for JOE (aka CUJO). 2 1/2 year male. Some people are turned off by the name Cujo. They hear the name and only think of that crazy St. Bernard in the book/movie Cujo. We have decided to switch his name to one that is more fun, your bestest friend, the guy you want to be with to be with to play fetch and go for long walks. So Meet Joe. He is a super sweet happy boy, he is good with children, housebroken and crate trained. Joe has been waiting a long time for a new family to love. A family that only wants one dog as Joe prefers to be a single. If there are children in his new family, we recommend they are over the age of 8. Will changing his name from Cujo to Joe be the boost this boy needs to attract the attention of a potential adopter? Story
Meet Rudy 💙 Rudy is 5-6 years old and is a deeply affectionate, people-loving boy who thrives on closeness with his humans. He loves cuddling, being petted, and will happily sleep next to you at night. Wherever you go, Rudy is likely to follow — often carrying his favorite soothing toy in his mouth for comfort. He is good with other dogs, big and small. He is also good with little kids. Rudy knows basic commands and is fully housebroken, which makes settling into a new home much easier. He enjoys playtime, especially tug-of-war, and he takes his toy destruction job very seriously (squeaker toys beware!). He walks well on leash and does best wearing a harness, ideally a front-clip harness. He may pull a little and can bark when he sees people out on walks, but he recovers quickly and continues on. This behavior appears to be excitement or uncertainty rather than aggression, and with consistency, patience, and positive training, it continues to improve. Rudy is not a fan of being confined away from his people. He will voluntarily rest in his crate when it’s open and his human is nearby, but being crated while left alone is stressful for him. He would do best in a home that understands this and is willing to help him gradually build confidence with alone time. With stability, routine, and love, Rudy truly shines. He is a cuddly, loyal companion who bonds deeply and brings a lot of joy to those around him. He’s looking for a patient, loving home that will help him continue to grow into the amazing dog he already is. If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $275. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Just under 50 pounds Energy level: medium. I like to get silly and play but I know when to settle and I love a power nap Good with kids: Yes! I love humans of all ages and sizes! My chonky tail wags so hard it shakes my whole body when I see people. I am a total love bug and have discovered the joy of cuddles and belly scratches. Good with dogs: Yes please! I would love a dog sibling. My foster home has dogs of all sizes and I love everyone, even my grumpy old foster brother who is not much fun. I can read the room like a boss and I know who is ready to play and when to back off. Good with cats: Unknown Crates: Yep, I sleep like an unbothered queen in my crate all night and will wait quietly in one while you’re gone. House-training: Still working on this as my foster family learns my cues and I learn their schedule but I understand the concept. Tricks: I know the sit command and am working on shake. I am smart and eager to learn Leash: I am good on a leash and love walks. I pull a little when starting out. I get excited when I see other people and dogs but I am not reactive. Story
Bullseye is a fun loving 2 year old boxer/bulldog mix who enjoys walks, cuddles, people of all shapes and sizes and most importantly butt scratches. He was found in a parking lot without a collar. He responds to come, chill out, stop and no but doesn't seem to remember sit. He is not a fan of table food like hot dogs, bread, or peanut butter. He puts his nose to it and doesn't want it. He is hesitant of treats but does go back for them eventually. He jumps but is very light about it, almost like a heavy cat. He distributes his weight well. He leaves food that is left out alone He is very well behaved on a leash. He does not pull and has a loose leash. He likes you to walk with him in the yard to do his business but will eventually go on his own with encouragement. He is house broken. He is okay on car rides except the front seat. He does not like it up there. He does not enjoy being alone and will run when you try to get him in his crate. He does NOT like the crate. I put a big blanket over it and he will settle after about 5 minutes. He is curious about cats. He doesn't lunge but gets up quickly and they may get scared. His temperament towards them makes me believe he was raised around them. He rubs on you like a cat would and likes to sit on the top back of the couch. He isn't fond of larger dogs and ignores them unless they approach while around his current person. He seems a bit territorial. He is NOT aggressive at all with food. You can feed him by hand or take his bowl while eating and is gentle with both. You can pet him while he eats. He is the perfect companion alpha dog. He does bark at new people but doesn't lunge or get aggressive. More like an alert, I don't recognize you. He will do best in a home without competing larger dogs. He loves his humans. He is a great little buddy.
