Story
We have two new Rottweilers in our program, Bear and Archie who are brothers. They were born on November 8, 2022 so still pretty young. We will be finding them each their own home unless we get lucky and find a home that can take both of them. Bear and Archie have been with their owner since they were tiny puppies. Their family dynamics has changed as their senior mother is having to move in with them and there is too much of a fall risk for her with two large dogs. They are between 130 and 140 pounds with Bear being the largest. They are a tad spoiled in that they love to sleep with their owner and are quick to roll over for belly rubs. Bear is a little better at walking on a leash than Archie. They haven’t had much exposure outside their home as they live on 2 acres of land and enjoy that life. They are housebroken and love their squeaky toys. Bear tends to follow you room to room and is probably more confident than Archie yet Archie seems to be a little more chill and a bit more shy than Bear. We will be posting some new photos soon. If you would like an adoption application, EMAIL STORKWOODS@COMCAST.NET. This is the BEST way to get an application and to get the ball rolling! We have foster homes in several areas. We do have transport available.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Percy (AL) is a male Rottweiler/Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix rescued in Alabama. Our veterinary partner estimates that Percy is 6 years old at the time of intake in June 2023. Percy is good with people and other dogs. Percy is the sweetest boy ever, yet that didn't stop some monster from dumping Percy by tossing him out of a car. Fortunately for Percy, he was tossed right into our rescue and he has now received the medical care he required for a nasty wound behind his ear. Percy is friendly and happy, but because he thinks his purpose in life is to rid the world of cats, he will need a cat-free home. And to be super cautious, any doggy siblings must be bigger than a cat! The next car Percy gets into will be the first leg of his happy ever after. If you would like Percy's happy ever after to be lived in your home as a member of your family, please apply online to adopt Percy (AL) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.   RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter. "No Dogs Left Behind operates boots on the ground in Asia, fighting on the front lines to rescue dogs from the illegal dog-meat trade. No Dogs Left Behind works hands-on with local activists through emergency response, pulling dogs directly from slaughterhouses, dog meat trucks, wet markets and traffickers. Our mission extends beyond borders worldwide, advocating for the creation and enforcement of animal welfare laws, and raising awareness for a cruelty-free, sustainable world in which no animal is violated, exploited, tortured or slaughtered for commercial goods or profit. PLEASE NOTE: All of our dogs ARE CURRENTLY LOCATED AT ONE OF OUR TWO SANTUARIES IN CHINA UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED ON THEIR PROFILE. If you are seeing this post, the dog you are interested in IS CURRENTLY AVAIALBLE FOR ADOPTION. Canadian Adoptions - For dogs going to Canada, we expect the wait for flights to be approximately 2 to 4 months AFTER the adoption is complete. PLEASE KNOW, however, that we can make no guarantee about flight dates because we are at the whim of the commercial airlines and airports. Available cargo space for animals on commercial airlines has been limited in recent months. United States Adoptions - In July of 2021, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) implemented a "temporary suspension on the importation of dogs from 113 countries, including China. Therefore, we are in the process of moving all our survivors from China to Canada to clear our two sanctuaries in East Asia which will give us the ability to save more dogs from slaughter. As per CDC regulations, dogs imported from China can enter the United States only AFTER staying in Canada for a period of 6 months. While we are accepting adoption applications from the United States, please be aware that there is a 6-month wait time. Should the CDC lift the import ban at any point prior to the 6-month period, we will advise you. Once you have adopted a survivor and a flight has been secured to Canada, we will arrange for your dog to stay in a loving foster home in the Toronto area that we have secured on your behalf or in our sanctuary located in Scarborough, Ontario. After the required 6-month stay in Canada, American adopters can arrange to pick up their survivors in Canada. IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT: The first step in our adoption process is to complete an application. EVERYONE MUST complete an application. You can complete an application on our website, https://nodogsleftbehind.com/adopt/ ADOPTION FEE: Current Adoption Fees: $2,290 USD for SMALL dogs under 50 pounds $2,990 USD for LARGE dogs over 50 pounds $1500 USD for SPONSORED dogs who have had a portion of their flight paid by a generous donor (noted with a white airplane symbol in their photo on our Foster or Adopt section of our website). Please NOTE, the adoption fee MAY change after adopting your survivor. If, at the time of transport, the transportation costs have increased, adopters will be required to pay the additional expenses. Due to COVID-19, regulations, airline availability, cost and logistics are ever-changing. The cost of adopting a survivor is constantly changing and therefore the adoption fees are subject to change. Adopters do not cover the costs of the dogs' medical care or the food and care they receive while they remain in our sanctuaries. The Pay-it-Forward Fee that is paid at the time of adoption covers the current cost of flying the dogs out of China. All our dogs are sterilized, microchipped, and have received all current vaccines as required to be imported as per airline and government regulations. CHILDREN, CATS AND OTHER PETS: Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing if any of our dogs are friendly with cats or young children. Although our dogs are friendly with most other dogs, we don't have the ability to test our dogs in our sanctuaries in China and cannot make any guarantees as to their temperament or compatibility with other animals, children, or cats. REQUESTS FOR HYPO-ALLERGENIC DOGS: We do not guarantee, agree, hint at, or suggest that any of our dogs are hypo allergenic. All our dogs are rescued from the dog meat trade in East Asia and therefore, we do not know their history or breed mixes. TEMPERAMENT: As our dogs are rescued from the dog trafficking trade in East Asia, we do not have history of their past. We cannot guarantee their temperament when they arrive in a home setting. HOUSE AND POTTY TRAINING: As we do not know the history of our rescued dogs, we should assume that they will need to be house trained. Some dogs may have been stolen pets and have previously been in a home environment in China while others may have been stray dogs or specifically bred for consumption. We advise every new adopter to treat these dogs as if they are puppies and be patient in regaining their trust with humans and providing basic training. We will also disclose any dog with more serious needs as our main goal is to get each dog the very best home for them. ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS: lindsay@nodogsleftbehind.com "

Story
Meet Maple! Maple is a 6-year-old sweetheart who weighs 68 pounds. Interested in becoming a forever home for Maple? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. Maple looks like she has a lot of Rottweiler in her but it is possible she is mixed with some other things. Maple loves going on walks, belly rubs & watching movies at home by your side - she is a good mix of fun & calm. She is a very well behaved dog! Maple is house trained, crate trained & knows a few basic commands. While Maple enjoys being with people & is a social butterfly, she would prefer to be the only animal in the home, soaking up all the attention & time with you. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Maple. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Maple the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Rex is a pure breed German Rottweiler. We got him 3 years ago. He went through training program and he is fully house broken. Unfortunately, we did not know how much attention and exercise he needs. We live in the private community with no back yard. Everywhere around us are small dogs and it makes it very complicated to walk him. We did teach him to walk on the treadmill, but this is no life for an animal. My wife and I have 3 children and I work full time. Due to his size, my wife is afraid to take him for a walk fearing he will pull her. So he is stuck waiting for me to take him out for only a few minutes. We absolutely hate to part ways with him, but this is the best solution for him. He is good with kids and us, loving and playful. He can be stubborn and moody at times, but so are other dogs I am sure. We need to find a good, experienced owner (preferably with other large dogs) and back yard so Rex can be outside. Any questions, please let me know. Thanks

WARRENSBURG, NY: This handsome fella wants to Buck-le up for a car ride with you - It's BUCKY! Who doesn't love a creamsicle? Well, this creamsicle can also love you back! And Bucky will quickly steal your heart with his gorgeous, smooth orange-cream coat and dark, brooding eyes. Bucky is a young dog at 2 years old and weighs 67 lbs. He needed emergency placement and thanks to our foster GraceAnn, AmsterDog was able to rescue him. And he has truly blossomed since, showing his perfect personality as a loving family pet. Friendly and affectionate, Bucky loves to spend time with his person/people. Bucky is good with kids, friendly with other dogs, outgoing when meeting new people, and allows grooming/bathing - wow, what a resume! And his opening statement is very much true - Bucky LOVES to go for car rides. He even knows the command "sit"; he really does just want to make you so happy! Bucky also has impeccable leash manners, but no cats for him, please. If you can open your heart and home to loving boy Bucky, please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414 or by e-mail at info@amsterdog.org. Apply to adopt Bucky at AmsterDog.org. LACEYVILLE, PA: Looking for a beautiful and classy lady to fall in love with you? Search no further, sweet Carly is right here! Carly is 7 elegant years old, weighs 65 lbs, and is all about the LOVE! As you can see, Carly is a pretty dog, but these pictures are nothing compared to meeting her. In person, Carly is stunningly good-looking, constantly captivating the passersby with her soft coloring and brilliant eyes. Her face is so perfectly chiseled that every emotion she has dances across her features in a clear message to you. She must be your only pet, but she WILL keep your heart full with her complete devotion. In fact, she is described by her caretaker as “a joy to have around”. Carly tends to be extremely obedient - her only wish is to make you as happy as you make her, so she will do anything you ask. And to her person, she is attentive and loyal – and it feels wonderful to be the centerpiece of her adoring gaze. All she wants is to love and be loved; her happiness is won by merely being in your presence. Giving Carly a home would make her so incredibly happy, but it will also make you happy too: being loved so deeply by such a beautiful soul is a gift that will keep giving to you, every day, and will never leave your side. Carly is also a fancy lady and wanted to be sure we included that the best way to showcase her sophistication is out for a walk! (They are her favorite.) She truly is a people-dog, always ready to make new human friends. Carly’s best quality, however, is how easy she is to love. Of course, being drop-dead gorgeous helps, but it is her fierce dedication to your happiness that will steal your heart. Carly is full of life, but at 7 years old she is ready for the stability of a furever home and yearns for the cozy comfort of dependability. Please consider one-of-a-kind Carly as the next addition to your home. After waiting so long, this lovely and graceful lady will be so grateful! Please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414 or apply to foster/adopt/foster-to-adopt Carly at AmsterDog.org. And thanks for caring about a pet in need!
