Story
UPSTATE NY: This handsome fella wants to Buck-le up for a car ride with you - It's BUCKY! Who doesn't love a creamsicle? Well, this creamsicle can also love you back! And Bucky will quickly steal your heart with his gorgeous, smooth orange-cream coat and dark, brooding eyes. Bucky is a young dog at 2 years old and weighs 67 lbs. Through no fault of his own, Bucky had been patiently waiting in the city shelter for 4 very long months. He needed emergency placement and thanks to a foster, AmsterDog was able to rescue him. And he has truly blossomed since, showing his perfect personality as a loving family pet. Friendly and affectionate, Bucky loves to spend time with his person/people. Bucky is good with kids, friendly with other dogs, outgoing when meeting new people, and allows grooming/bathing - wow, what a resume! And his opening statement is very much true - Bucky LOVES to go for car rides. He even knows the command "sit"; he really does just want to make you so happy! Bucky also has impeccable leash manners, but no cats for him, please. If you can open your heart and home to loving boy Bucky, please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414 or by e-mail at info@amsterdog.org. Apply to adopt Bucky at AmsterDog.org. Thanks for caring about a pet in need!

Story
LACEYVILLE, PA: Looking for a beautiful and classy lady to fall in love with you? Search no further, sweet Carly is right here! Carly is 6 elegant years old, weighs 60 lbs, and is all about the LOVE and belly rubs! As you can see, Carly is a pretty dog, but these pictures are nothing compared to meeting her. In person, Carly is stunningly good-looking, constantly captivating the passersby with her soft coloring and brilliant eyes. Her face is so perfectly chiseled that every emotion she has dances across her features in a clear message to you. Carly has been through a lot and is dog selective, so proper introductions are crucial for her to get along with another dog. She also prefers larger dogs and no cats for her, please. But she WILL keep your heart full with her complete devotion. In fact, she is described by her caretaker as “a joy to have around”. Carly tends to be extremely obedient - her only wish is to make you as happy as you make her, so she will do anything you ask." And to her person, she is attentive and loyal – and it feels wonderful to be the centerpiece of her adoring gaze. All she wants is to love and be loved; her happiness is won by merely being in your presence. Giving Carly a home would make her so incredibly happy, but it will also make you happy too: being loved so deeply by such a beautiful soul is a gift that will keep giving to you, every day, and will never leave your side. Carly is also a fancy lady and wanted to be sure we included that the best way to showcase her sophistication is out for a walk! (They are her favorite.) She truly is a people-dog, always ready to make new human friends. Carly’s best quality, however, is how easy she is to love. Of course, being drop-dead gorgeous helps, but it is her fierce dedication to your happiness that will steal your heart. Carly is full of life, but at 6 years old she is ready for the stability of a furever home and yearns for the cozy comfort of dependability. Please consider one-of-a-kind Carly as the next addition to your home. After waiting so long, this lovely and graceful lady will be so grateful! Please contact AmsterDog by call/text at 917-689-8414 or by e-mail at info@amsterdog.org. Apply to adopt Carly at AmsterDog.org/application And thanks for caring about a pet in need!

Chives is a young, 10th month old, velcro dog with a lot of love to give! He's friendly, affectionate, loyal and playful, and he's always up for an adventure. Chives is very curious and likes to investigate new things - especially when it comes to food! Chives has lived with dogs, cats, kids, and rabbits, and got along with them all! He's very people-oriented and loves to cuddle up on the couch with his favourite humans. Chives is young, so he's got plenty of energy and is always up for a run around the park or a game of fetch. He'd love an active family who can give him lots of exercise and attention. If you're looking for a fun, loving and loyal companion, Chives is the perfect boy for you!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. POPPERS was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 30 October 2023. POPPERS is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of January 2023 and on has an estimated weight of 33 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue      YouTube channel      and      photo albums on our Facebook page      to see a LOT of pictures and videos. POPPERS is an absolute sweetheart, brimming with affection and love with the sweetest, gentle "old soul" type personality. He can come across like a couch potato but he loves to run and wrestle with his friends. When he was in the kennels he did gain some weight, which now he is more active he is losing them - but it is important for his family to be aware to keep him active to keep those dangerous pounds off. POPPERS is a top favourite with everyone he meets. He is a hard chewer of toys and anything other than tough chewing toys he will destroy - red kongs are like scooby snacks to him lol He has been around adults of all ages, shapes and sizes, small children and people with special needs and was gentle and loving.  He is responsive and is happy to show anyone he meets lots of love. He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. POPPERS is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $100. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats. Story
We adopted Rylie in 2022 from an animal shelter in Brooklyn when he was about 5 months old. He has always been a gentle and affectionate dog, particularly fond of children. While he gets along with some dogs, he doesn't mesh well with others. Rylie is energetic and loves running; he's also remarkably good at catching anything you throw his way. Typically, he's very quiet, but he greets us with a few melodious hound-like sounds when we come home. As much as we love him, we've realized he needs more space than we can provide.

Story
Myna is a senior land seal in need of a foster or adopter! She is about 55lbs, has a stunning black, white, and brindle coat, and is the most happy go lucky girl you will encounter. Literally, nothing puts a frown on this girl’s wrinkled jowley face! Likely a boxer mix, this salt and peppered girl has the energy and life force of a pup! So, don't let her age fool you- Myna is the fountain of youth in compact pup form! She is about 9 years young, but you will have a lifetime of love from her! Consider her as providing you with 9 years of experience in love and wiggles. That is hard to come by! A true girl scout, Myna is prepared for anything with her favorite stuffie always by her side. Myna loves to carry around a stuffie and prefers playtime to naptime. However, hit the couch with her and this bouncy girl is ready to snuggle. Myna would thrive in an active home. Since entering our care, she tends to ignore other dogs. So, she could be the only pet, or share the love with the right dog sibling. She loves people, playing fetch, and learning new commands. Eager to please and food motivated, Myna is a quick study in all things dog-fu. Unfortunately, we don't know what her life was like before the shelter. She was a stray that found herself at the city shelter. We are looking for a patient and understanding foster or adopter who can help Myna adjust to life in a loving home. For the time being, Myna would prefer your only pup or join forces with a patient and easy going dog. We do think she would love to be the center of your world. Myna has big dreams for her golden years and she hopes to spend them with you! If interested in fostering or adopting Myna, please complete an application, which can be found on our website at www.twentypawsrescue.com/forms-applications. Please note that due to an email glitch, sometimes emails get lost. We respond to all emails so if you don't hear back from us, please follow up!

Borris is the most perfect dog, he doesn’t bark, he doesn’t jump on furniture, he is potty trained, and only chews on his toys. He is 2 years old and couldn’t be any sweeter, he loves people and is very curious. He loves playing with his toys and going on walks. He has yet to be neutered but i’ve put down a deposit for the procedure and trying to schedule it. I recently adopted him after getting the go ahead from my roommates but they decided after adopting him that they did not want a pet in the house. Unfortunately I now have to rehome him because of this.
