I may have arrived as a stray, but a good grooming session has transformed me into a fluffy, affectionate diva ready for my forever home. Speaking of energy, I've got it in spades! I love to play and am always up for a game or a good old-fashioned romp around the park. I'm a friendly, loving girl who adores giving kisses and getting them too. (I'm a sucker for affection!) I'm also super smart and always eager to learn new tricks, especially if treats are involved. I adopted Prince from the Apple Valley Animal Shelter when he was already a senior dog, and he’s now about 8–9 years old. Prince is an incredibly calm, sweet, and low-maintenance dog. He loves sleeping, cuddling with his blanket, sunbathing, and going on short walks—especially later in the afternoon since he enjoys slow mornings. He gets along fine with other dogs, although he’s never really been interested in playing and would much rather relax and nap nearby.Prince has struggled with ongoing skin allergies for quite some time. I’ve tried different foods, medications, and allergy treatments to help him feel more comfortable. The allergy shots seem to help manage the itching best, but unfortunately nothing has fully resolved the issue. Because of his skin condition, my own allergies have become very difficult to manage, which has made this decision especially hard.Prince truly is a loving, gentle dog who deserves a patient and caring home where he can continue enjoying a quiet, comfort

Charlie came to us from the shelter, where he was found huddled under a cot, unsure and overwhelmed. We immediately brought him into our program to give him the care and attention he deserved. Charlie thrives on routine and companionship. He is an indoor-only dog who would happily spend 24/7 curled up in your lap if given the choice. He is incredibly gentle, affectionate, and well-suited for a calm home. He does wonderfully with kids and would also be a great companion for an elderly adopter. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and does so well with other dogs of all sizes. He has been very loved in his foster home (maybe a little too loved when it comes to treats!) so he’s put on a few extra pounds that could easily be managed with a balanced routine. One of his cutest quirks is the way he sits so “fancy” when asking for a snack (see photo!). Charlie’s foster mom absolutely adores him, and while she would love to keep him, she knows he deserves a forever home where a family can fully enjoy everything he has to offer. From day one, Charlie presented with some nasal discharge. Initially, we attributed this to stress-related kennel cough from his time in the shelter. He has since completed multiple rounds of antibiotics and medications. While the kennel cough has resolved and his symptoms have significantly improved, he still experiences occasional, intermittent nasal discharge or "snot". Don’t let that scare you off now.. Despite this, Charlie appears medically well, he’s happy, active, and full of life. We’ve kept him in rescue longer than usual to monitor the snot issue and gather more information, and it has remained mild and manageable. It is NOT contagious and has been seen many times by the vet. Due to the rare and still somewhat unexplained nature of his intermittent nasal discharge, we do recommend that his adoptive family obtain pet insurance as a precaution. We do not believe this is something to be alarmed about but we believe in full transparency. Charlie is truly a unique and special case. Charlie is a sweet, loving soul who just wants to be close to his people, he’s ready to bring warmth spunk, happies and companionship to the right home. Located in Sacramento, TaiChi is a 4-year-old owner surrender who is going through a very stressful transition. His owner, who is battling cancer, was forced to give him up after an incident at her mobile home park. During nearby construction work, TaiChi nipped a worker on the back of the leg. The bite did not break the skin or damage clothing, but management required that he be removed from the property immediately. This has been heartbreaking for his owner, who clearly loved him very much. TaiChi was temporarily placed with the owner’s niece, where he reportedly got along well with her two dogs. However, after another move into his current foster home with three resident dogs, he has become overwhelmed and uncomfortable. Given everything he has recently experienced, his stress and uncertainty are understandable. TaiChi was originally purchased from a breeder and used as a stud dog, so he is still learning how to adjust to life as a companion pet. He is housebroken and enjoys going for walks, but he should always be walked using a secure harness. Right now, TaiChi needs a calm, patient home where he can decompress, feel safe again, and rebuild trust after so much upheaval. With stability, understanding, and gentle guidance, this boy has the chance to settle in and become a loyal companion once more. ##2730117##
