Story
Meet Jax! Jax’s owner contacted our team to surrender him and then he mysteriously went missing before we could pick him up. He was then found days later 30 miles from his home in an outlet mall parking lot. We don’t know if Jax was dumped by his family or if they gave him to someone who abandoned him, but he was lucky to be secured before something bad happened. Jax may have had unfortunate owners but it has not changed his outlook on life — he’s sassy, confident, and really good with people. Jax is being fostered in a home with a foster mom and dad and three dogs He has settled in well and quickly acclimated to his new environment. At first, he was a little protective around his food and toys with other dogs, but that was easily corrected. He never attempts to take the other dog’s food, he just doesn't like them too close when he’s eating…which is understandable. We always suggest that adopters give new dogs space at feeding time to avoid conflicts. Jax is house-trained and has good manners; he doesn’t destroy anything and listens well. He loves to go for walks, rides great in a car, and sleeps quietly through the night. His foster mom has left him out free in the home for 4 to 5 hours without issue. Jax has a medium energy level, and he likes to play and run around the backyard but also enjoys sharing leisure time with his foster family hanging out on the couch. We think Jax would be fine as an only dog, but would also enjoy having a doggie playmate in his new home. He’s a perfect pup for empty nesters who want a dog who will road trip with them, a single owner or couple looking for a loving companion, or a family with older kids would be great too. Apply today!
