My mom recently passed away and I am need to find a home for him (Charles/Charlie). He is house trained as long as you keep him on a consistent schedule and is very clingy and likes to always be near a human. He seems to be OK with large and small dogs as long as they leave him alone as he is not playful and likes to sleep. His hearing and sight is fading so we found we have to lead him to his food and water. He is approx 14 years old as my mom adopted him from the humane society a couple years ago.

Meet Zeus: Zeus is about a 5 year old (as of May 2026) Shih Tzu / pug mix (best guess) that weighs about 17 pounds. Zeus was surrendered by the son of his 76 year old owner who couldn't care for him anymore. Zeus was well cared for but didn't adapt well to shelter life and was coming across grumpy and hostile. We were luckily able to get him into our rescue and out of the shelter were he transformed completely into a happy guy. Zeus is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Although our initial introduction to Zeus revealed a stressed and agitated man, he has since showed that he is a playful, engaging, puppy-like companion. Zeus has been a gentle, sedate, belly rub-loving little fellow that's good on a leash and likes car rides. We recommend against extended crate time for this little guy and would encourage slow introductions to be sure he feels comfortable. Zeus appears to be house trained. We would love for Zeus to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can run and play freely. Zeus is up to date on his shots and is neutered.
