Story
Chloe and Ollie are a bonded pair of darling female Shihtzu’s. They are 6&7 yrs old, each becoming a part of their family at 8wks of age. Changes to their lifelong home has put them in a position where, for their benefit, a new home is needed. They are a friendly and well behaved duo. They are housebroken, and in a pinch, will use a pee pad. They are both spayed and UTD on vaccines. If you’re interested in giving Chloe & Ollie a forever home, where they can live out their lives happily and loved, please visit our website @ www.bubbasstationrescue.org to fill out an application today. Inquiries will not be considered as applying-a completed application is the only way to be considered for these sweethearts.

Story
Teddy is being fostered in NY, Teddy has vision. Teddy came to us from his local shelter, and he is a delightful mix of everything but the kitchen sink! With his soft white hair, tan spots on his back, longer body and shorter legs, he's cute as a button. Teddy is almost a "go with the flow" fellow. He transported to his foster home via a six leg transport of volunteer drivers, and did well. He isn't phased by loud noises or walking by construction vehicles, but he isn't a fan of rain! Teddy is very well behaved in his foster home. You want me here? Ok, foster mama! Should I be there? No problem, foster mama! It's not time to eat yet? That's ok, I'll wait until you're ready, foster mama! He does, however, have an anxious and timid side, and requires Trazodone before a vet or grooming appointment. At home, it's difficult to work around his face (such as putting in eye drops or wiping his eyes), and he shows that by moving his head from side to side or dropping his head to the floor and not wanting it to be picked up. His eye pressures are normal. We have been working daily on getting him comfortable when working around his face. He is housebroken and will stand by the door to go out, but will not ask. He has had only one poop accident inside. Teddy is not a lap dog, but he loves to sit or lie right next to you and have the top of his head and ears rubbed. He will not ask for pets, and if you stop petting him, he will quietly walk away and just try again later. But if you keep petting him, he'll stay right next to you all day! He has never shown interest in being on any furniture, and is not interested in belly rubs. Teddy enjoys walks and exploring and smelling his fenced yard, but is also happy to sleep much of the day. And on occasion, he loves to romp through the house! Teddy is crate trained and very quiet. The only time he barks is when it's feeding time, and then he gives only a few barks of excitement along with the other dogs in his foster home. He takes treats very gently from your hand, and sleeps quietly through the night in his own bed. Teddy is very respectful of the other dogs here (four are smaller and one is the same size) and will not invade anyone's space on purpose. If another dog barks at him or bumps into him, he will do everything he can to get away as quickly as possible, and so he prefers a home with smaller, quieter or older dogs who will not jump on him or bark at him. Teddy is hoping for a patient family who understands he can get anxious and timid and will help him work through it, but in return, he will love you with all of his heart. He is also hoping for a home where his family is home more often than not, and would prefer a quieter home without young children. He is very excited to be a good boy in his forever home! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Simba ACCT-A-206844 is a 5-year-old male dog who came in as an owner surrender on 3/6 due to aggression towards people. Behavior: On 3/10 volunteer noted: “Approaching the kennel the first time, he was growling loudly. He would not eat the treat i put in. I walked away and returned 30 seconds later with the same response. I opened the kennel and he was barking and growling. When attempting to leash he was avoidant, continuing to bark and growl. Once on, he stopped vocalizing and walked out. He was resistant to walking so we stopped in the grooming room. Using a towel we attempted to pick him up but he was growling loudly again so we stopped. After 2 minutes he walked outside. In the pen he was pacing, stress panting and did 3 shake offs. I was able to do very short pets on his back 4 times, and the 5th time he did a quick head whip back so I didn't attempt any more petting. he was avoidant going back in the kennel and challenging to remove the leash- avoidant and growling. We went back 1 hour later and tried again with the same result. Use caution when handling: bite risk.” On 3/6 staff noted: “Noticed owner mentioned the dog had bit a person and another animal unprovoked. Regularly attacks cat, one of her children, other dog in the house, lunges at strangers on walks. Broke skin on the small child.” On 3/6 owner noted: He is medium energy, likes playtime but happy to just chill. He likes hanging out with owner, playing with ball or squeaker toys. Unable to care for. Simba exhibits mouthing or play biting, he pulls too hard on leash, has accidents in the house, is possessive of toys/items (resource guarding). He is reactive/aggressive towards cats, strangers, children, and other dogs. He has bitten a person, and he has bitten another animal. Nothing has triggered in order to bite." Medical: On 3/6 exam staff noted: “Feet and tail matted. Mouth/Teeth/Gums - Could not check mouth- Try’s to bite. Coat & Skin - Matted on feet's and tail. No flea's Attitude: Bright, alert, responsive, friendly until touched. Does not like when someone gets to close to her, Start's to growl and try's to bite.” - ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week.
