Archie is a 1 year old neutered male shih tzu mix who weighs 17 lbs. Archie is looking for a new home after his family was no longer able to care for him. This little guy is as cute as a button and keeps his foster family laughing every day! He is very sweet and loves to snuggle with his people, but also loves to play with his doggy pals. He's been around dogs of all sizes and has gotten along with everyone. If you are sitting down he'll want to be in your lap, and enjoys being petted. Archie can be possessive of his things, so he'll will need an experienced family who is willing to work on this behavior with him. It's always the cute dogs that can be a little naughty! Archie is a confident boy who loves going for walks, then chilling on the couch for a nice nap. He has a good energy level, and is excelling with his training. Meet Della! She is a spunky little 10 pound, 6 year old Shih Tzu who came to us after a lifetime of breeding. Della has been enjoying the sweet life ever since and is looking forward to finding her own furever home. Della loves to lounge and nap in her doggie bed but is also quite happy in her crate. She sleeps in her crate at night and stays in there during the day while her foster parents are at work and doesn't put up any fuss about it. Della likes to chomp on chew toys and play with stuffies. She will also help you tidy up the house by stashing any socks left on the floor in her bed or crate! Della is potty trained but accidents are to be expected during a transition until the new routine is learned. With that being said, Della loves a treat after her last outing each night. She will definitely let you know that she is expecting one! Della is a sweet lady looking for a laid back home, where she can get all the belly rubs! And if you stop petting her too soon, she will gently tap you with her little paw to let you know that she wants more love. Della would prefer to be your one and only but could be happy with a calm, low energy, non-playful male dog. She would do best in a home without female dogs or cats. Della is a low shed dog who will need regular grooming. Luckily she loves to be brushed in between appointments! Della tested positive for Lyme Disease and has been treated. She did not and has not displayed symptoms. Della is microchipped, UTD on vaccines, and is spayed. MEET MAGIC! Magic is a charming little 15 year old Shih Tzu. Magic had a rough holiday season and found himself abandoned at an emergency vet because he was experiencing lethargy and pain. The hospital staff reached out to us when they couldn't find anything medically wrong with Magic, hoping we could find him the perfect home. He landed in foster care and has spent the time since bouncing back from the neglect he experienced. Magic absolutely adores his humans and loves to take long naps like any little old man. Magic likes other animals and would do well with another low-key dog or friendly cat. Magic enjoys walks but won't necessarily want to be your new hiking buddy. He'll let you know when he’s done and ready to go home, especially when it’s inclement weather! Magic isn’t a fan of being picked up or having his harness taken on and off, mainly because he is an older dog with older joints and age-related arthritis. Magic would do best in a home without children as he does have a tendency to nip when picked up or when frightened. Magic will need a human who will be patient with him and go slow and get to know his quirks. Once he is settled in, Magic is truly magical! Magic is potty trained but uses belly bands just to be safe when he needs to spend prolonged time alone. He takes daily gabapentin for his arthritis which has greatly improved his quality of life and which he should remain on to keep feeling good. He has slightly high kidney function levels but not to the degree that he needs medical intervention at this time. It's something that should be kept an eye on as he continues to age. He may eventually need a prescription kidney diet. Magic came to us with chronic dry eye (KCS) which was never addressed and caused an ulcer in one eye. After trying to heal the ulcer, his doctors decided the most effective way to relieve the pain he was experiencing in that eye would be to remove the no-good eye altogether. He's since had enucleation surgery and has healed well! That eye wasn't doing him any favors anyway so now he just looks adorably wonky and is no longer in pain! Banjo and Cody have lived together their whole lives and are looking for their forever home together. These boys are absolutely perfect, except they need to lose a little weight. Cody is house trained, leash trained, loves car rides, loves other dogs, and loves everyone he meets. He is healthy except for dry eye that he gets eye drops for and doesnt mind them at all. At 11 years old, he is still very peppy and agile, just wanting to be with his people and enjoying his golden years. Won't you give these boys their happily ever after?
