Story
Captain Henrietta Morgan was abandoned as a kitten. But she is growing into a brave adventurer! She was the first kitten we rescued from under our shed this summer after returning ashore. And she has taught every cat since how to love and be loved. Morgan loves lounging in a hammock while you work or watch a movie. And if you are reading a book, guess who will be there with you! The only thing she loves more than food is her sister Jackie, who she is always grooming, snuggling, and playing with. They are a bonded pair so you get double the sweetness for the same amount of work. We would love to keep her (and her sister Jackie), but our work on the water 6 months of the year would impossible for her.

Story
Gemma is a five year old cat with lots of love to give, but she unfortunately has a lot of anxiety that leads to behavioral issues. She is great with adults that she has gotten to know, but it does take her a long time to become familiar with others. She becomes stressed out with other cats and children, and that stress usually leads to fights and swiping. Gemma needs a home with no children and no other cats (she is good with dogs!), and someone who is very patient and experienced with cats. She really is such a loving cat once she knows someone, but she needs a lot of time to get there. We love her so much, but our home has become a very stressful environment for her due to other cats and a newly mobile baby. Despite our efforts to separate her, we are unable to provide a stress free home for her while also keeping our baby safe because we recently had to move into a smaller place. We would really like her to find a home where she can be comfortable and relaxed all the time.

Story
We found Calico Jackie abandoned as a baby kitten this summer. She is shy, but playful and affectionate. When she shows you her speckled belly, you know it is the beginning of a loving friendship. Her meow sounds like a creaky door that can only be oiled with food in her belly. She loves playing with toys, sleeping in a comfy cat bed, and snuggling while listening to peaceful music. But the thing she loves the most is her sister Morgan. They are always together, entertaining each other and tempting you to take pictures of their adorable cuddle sessions. They are a bonded pair, so you get double the cuteness with half the work!

Story
I’ve had Boots for most of his life, nearly 6 years. I adopted him from a shelter when he was 9 months old after he “lost a fight with a bird” resulting in him losing an eye. He is very loyal, friendly and curious. I love him to death but unfortunately cannot continue to support his needs. I tell people that he has IBS because without his prescription diet he tends to throw up or have diarrhea. His adoption will come with at least one unopened bag of food + his prescription. He does have arthritis in his spine with the occasional flair up impacting his mobility. Additionally, I’ve struggled on and off with him marking/urinating outside of the litter box over several years that might be resolved in an only cat household. I have LOTS of medical records to handover. The adoption fee is strictly to ensure he goes to a good home and is negotiable.

Sweet Clancy was brought in when he was just a new kitten and we’ve loved having him in the family! Unfortunately, my daughter has developed allergies and we cannot keep Clancy any longer for her health. He’s a little over 2 years old and house broken.

Story
This little spice girl is definitely a free spirit. She will let you hold her, and purrs softly when petted with a sweet content look on her face. But it might not be for long because she has things to do and places to go! She and her BFF, Elmira, chase each other throughout the house, climb the cat furniture on the walls at an amazing speed, and play with toys back and forth. When she calms down to rest, her favorite spot is a person’s lap or somewhere very near a human. She will also snuggle with her bestie for grooming and naps. At bedtime, she likes to lay on the person’s side or by their feet. She likes light face rubs, chin scratches, and of course the rest of her body to be pet, especially when she’s in your lab. That’s when you get to hear the purr motor really rev up. She is also not shy in telling you what she wants. Whether it’s treats, pets, wet food, or your food. Even though she doesn’t get human food, that hasn’t stopped her from being all up in her foster’s space begging for scraps. You will also never have to worry about being in that scary bathroom by yourself. Paprika will follow you everywhere and make sure the shower curtain doesn’t attack you! She is not a fan of the dog most of the time, he is a bit annoying and tries to chase her when she’s playing. She has no problem letting him know to calm down and get out of her space. She would be fine with dogs in the home and would either tolerate or ignore them. She’ll even lay on the couch or snuggle with her bestie by the dog if he is being calm. She seems to get along with the older cats fine, but she may be too much energy for them. She gets along better with the cats/kittens that match her energy. She’s never met kids but would be great with them, especially if they played with her. She doesn’t seem to have a problem with strange humans either. She doesn’t greet them, but she also doesn’t run away. They can approach her for pets and play with no problems. Story
China is very affectionate. She's sweet, but can be a bit serious at times. She doesn’t play with humans often because she lived on the streets and never learned to play but likes human company. China's favorite activity is sunbathing and takes this hobby very seriously. She a bit of a loner but is nonetheless majestic and expects all the treats and worshipping from her humans. Her favorite treat is boiled chicken but she isn't picky and loves all food. She gets along well with other cats. She likes to sleep high up (towers are a good option for her).    If you are interested in adopting China, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 50 miles of the Raleigh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption. Story
Snickerdoodle is a beautiful tortie girl who has a growing curiosity for attention—but on her own terms. This gentle kitty is still learning to trust and needs a patient adopter who understands that love takes time. She enjoys pets (as long as they’re not on her belly) and is gradually getting used to having both hands on her at once. While she’s not a fan of being held, she has been seeking affection more and more, showing promising signs of blossoming into a more confident cat.  Snickerdoodle’s playful side shines through when she’s with her littermate, Skunky, or chasing toys. She thrives in the company of other cats and would likely do best in a home with feline friends. She can coexist with dogs but prefers they respect her personal space.  She does have a tendency to relieve herself when scared, so a quiet, understanding household would be best for her. If you’re looking for a cat who needs a little extra love and patience but has so much potential to be a loyal companion, Snickerdoodle could be the perfect match. With time, kindness, and a cat-friendly home, she’ll continue to grow into a confident and affectionate kitty.    If you are interested in adopting Snickerdoodle, please fill out an adoption application here  https://miasmafia.org/adoption-application You must live within 60 miles of the Raleigh, NC area in order to qualify for adoption.
