Story
Meet Jake — your new best buddy! Jake made his way from an overcrowded North Carolina shelter to the DMV in search of a brighter future, and he’s ready to find his forever home! This handsome 6-month-old boy sports a stunning marble coat and an even more beautiful heart. Jake is a total sweetheart who loves scratches, playtime, and—of course—treats. He’s a champion cuddler who adores being petted and will purr his heart out to show his appreciation. A big fan of being close to his people, Jake is also a devoted leg-rubber who just wants to be part of the action. He’s still growing into his frame, so a few extra snacks make him extra happy! Jake eats both wet and dry food, and he’s already a pro with his pellet litter box. We think Jake would thrive with another young feline friend to romp and play with—but most of all, he’s looking for a loving home where he can give all his affection.. Story
Hello, I am trying to find a home or foster for a homeless cat who has been hanging around my yard for about a year now. He is a male orange tabby that is about two years old. Another rescue organization has taken him and had him neutered and given a physical and shots but they were unable to take him at the time. I do have his medical records. I am unable to take him into my home for various reasons but as it is getting colder now I would like to see him go somewhere that he can be safe and warm. He is cautious but very friendly and has a good disposition. I would not call him feral at all. Please let me know if you can help him. I can transport him if I need to. Thank you Kathy Nary (xxx) xxx-xxxx xxxx@xxxx.x

Story
Chance has been an amiable companion since day one to his foster mom! We found him in the street but too friendly to release. He has chubby cheeks and the prettiest jade green eyes. He is also the longest cat we have ever seen, so we named him Mr. Big. His foster brothers were not very friendly at first, but he won them over and now they love him. If you think your cat would never welcome another cat into the household, give Chance a chance!

Story
Georgia showed up on my carport this past spring; he was semi-friendly and not neutered. So I trapped him and had him neutered to help control the cat population in the neighborhood. I brought him home to recover, releasing him outdoors where he knows his surroundings. I continued to take care of him and still do. He is now very sweet and loving and needs someone to give him a forever home. I have to leave the house that I rent and am scheduled to move on December 16 due to the property being renovated and sold. I can take Georgia with me temporarily while trying to find him a family. I have three older cats indoors; the apartment complex I'm moving to will only allow me 3 cats but has agreed to let me keep Georgia with me until I find him his forever family. Georgia has been used to being on the sun porch, coming and going outdoors; he is now inside the house full-time. He is ready for anyone that will give him a good loving home.

Story
Bluey's Personality Have you been searching for a friendly, active, curious and loving cat to fill your life with purrs and kisses!?! Meet Bluey - a handsome blue-grey cat with emerald eyes that will melt your heart. This boy barely skips a beat - he loves to explore, romp around and investigate just about everything. Bluey is always happy to see you when you return home - he displays his happiness with meowing and purring. He is also a master of cuddles, always ready to curl up next to you for as long as you want.  Bluey can be a bit vocal when he wants to play or eat and can be demanding in the cutest way about what he wants! Never a dull moment with Bluey around. He likes to tell you what's on his mind and entice you to play with him. He's fond of batting toys around and thrives on interactive play with is foster parents. They have created a fun game of hide and seek that really gets Bluey going! Did we mention he loves chin scratches, being brushed and genuinely adores attention? He returns the love twofold with being the best companion ever! What Type of Home Bluey Needs Bluey needs an active home with more than one person and room to roam around. He's a young male with lots of energy. This means he needs people who are around to play and interact with him. A home with a family with an older child or two would be ideal. Or a home with a couple where at least one person works from home. He will not do well in a single person home in a small apartment. Where Bluey Came From Bluey was a stray kitty being fed outdoors for months by a kind person. After living on the streets, Bluey is very happy to now be an indoor-only kitty.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Story
Luna's Personality Luna is a very friendly, inquisitive, and confident kitty. Despite his name, Luna is a BOY! When he was a kitten, his family thought he was a girl so they named the kitten Luna. He knows his name so we haven't changed it. Luna is very social and enjoys being petted. He loves hanging out with his foster family and interacting with people. Luna can be quite talkative so be prepared to have conversations with him! Luna is a confident kitty but, like most cats, will need a few days to settle into a new home. He's not shy and doesn't hide, but may be a bit vocal! He has learned the joy of playing with cat toys, and especially likes having a drawer or box full of toys that he can rummage through and decide what to play with next. Luna also LOVES to hop inside a box or a paper bag. Luna loves to find adventures and enjoys having plenty of places to play "hide and seek." He is very intelligent so odds are he would enjoy cat puzzles! What Type of Home Luna Needs Luna needs a home where he has plenty of room to roam around. He is use to living in a single family home with multiple people, including children. He needs a home with more than one person. A family with older kids (over 12 yrs of age) who are cat savvy would be fine, but no young children. He can get a little 'mouthy' when he plays so we are teaching him some manners. We don't know how he would be with other cats or dogs, so we are seeking a home with no other pets. Where Luna Came From Luna came from a loving home that was no longer able to care for him. So they contacted their neighborhood "cat lady" who happens to be an SPCA NOVA volunteer to ask for help finding Luna a new home.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Story
&#239&#187&#191&#239&#187&#191Celeste's Personality  Celeste may remind you of a pup the way she wants to sniff your hand before letting you pet her. It’s probably to see if you have a treat for her! When you’re sleeping, she may crawl up on your pillow to lull you to sleep with her purrs. And she purrs a lot. Very loud and very often. Celeste is happiest when she is chasing her laser pointer, taking a nap in the sun shining through a window, or hanging out with her foster parents. This chunky charmer likes to be close by and follows you from room to room. This “heavenly” girl is super sweet. She is also a bit shy and will take a little time to warm up, but once she does, Celeste is a delightfully soft mush of a cat. Then she’ll be looking for pets as she sits on top of her cat tree. And give her a bit of catnip and she’ll be rolling over for a bunch of belly rubs. We love her sassy way of telling us what she wants. This girl is a talker…when she wants something, she will let you know. It’s all friendly talk, and very hard to resist. We find that she also likes to watch a little TV…so far tennis has been her favorite! She’ll perk up and watch the TV screen from next to you on the couch or her cat tree. It’s really cute. Between the catnip, the treats and her tree, she happily spends the day with you. Keeping an eye on your comings and goings. You’ll enjoy her gentle and endearing company. What Type of Home Celeste Needs  Celeste needs a peaceful home with an experienced cat caretaker who understands that she will need a little time to adapt. She would be fine with a quiet, older cat-savvy child. Celeste would do best as the only cat in her home unless she stays with her sister, Nova (posted separately). They do fine together but don't interact much because they have different personalities and needs.  Celeste is on a very strict calorie and portion-controlled over-the-counter canned food diet. Her caretakers need to be committed to sticking with her strict weight management plan with monthly weight checks. We will supply a pet scale to keep her on track. Where Celeste Came From  Celeste, and her sister, Nova, were adopted out as kittens to what we thought was a wonderful home. Sadly, their caretakers decided, just shy of their 8th birthdays, they didn’t want them anymore. However, based on their neglectful condition, this has turned out to be a good thing even though this upheaval has been hard on Celeste. Both girls appear healthy despite being very overweight. Getting the girls to a healthy weight of about 12 lbs each will take time but will ensure better health and longer lives. PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Please see our adoption guidelines at  https://spcanova.org/about-us/adoption-policies/. September 30, 2025, 10:05 am
