Tabby kittens & cats in Arlington, Virginia

You might be wondering why I named an orange Tabby ‘Shadow’. Well he’s a super friendly cat that loves to be around people and will follow you around just like one! He loves to be picked up and play. I’ve jokes that he’s more dog like than cat like at times. He’s really a great cat and deserves better than I have the bandwidth to give at the moment. I’d love to find someone who will love him and play with him. He is a very vocal guy and will talk to you

This sweet, gentle cat has a calm and loving personality. She enjoys relaxing on soft surfaces, keeping close to her person, and soaking up quiet companionship. She’s affectionate without being overwhelming and has a very laid-back, well-mannered demeanor. She would thrive in a peaceful home with someone who appreciates a calm, loving cat that enjoys comfort and routine.

Chance has been an amiable companion since day one to his foster mom! We found him in the street but too friendly to release. He has chubby cheeks and the prettiest jade green eyes. He is also the longest cat we have ever seen, so we named him Mr. Big. His foster brothers were not very friendly at first, but he won them over and now they love him. If you think your cat would never welcome another cat into the household, give Chance a chance!

Rocky is a super duper sweet boy. He loves pets and spending time with people, whether or not they are strangers! He is a lap cat and very personable. Unfortunately, we cannot keep him as he has started spraying and peeing outside the litter box. We had him checked out medically and he is perfectly fine, but we have a young son who is crawling and do not have the ability to try and retrain Rocky. It breaks our hearts that we have to rehome him but we know that the right person can help him break this habit. He loves other cats, but our other cat has been aggressive towards Rocky lately and that could be contributing to the behavior.

She was adopted as a kitten and has been part of our family since then. She is a young adult cat. We’re looking for a calm, loving home with someone patient who understands that she is shy at first and needs time to adjust. She is gentle, sweet, and affectionate once she feels comfortable. Our goal is simply to find her a safe, stable home where she can be well cared for.

6 years ago my neighborhood saw a few cats pop up out of nowhere. All around the same age, maybe a year old, and they we wandering house to house looking for food. The neighborhood adopted the cats and have been feeding/taking care of the cats for years. My parents have set up weather resistant houses outside with electric blankets and feed them 3-4 times a day. All of the cats are very friendly, but Drama is the most affectionate/trusting of the lot. She loves pets, likes to be held, and is very patient. She, Cleo and Mark are bonded and normally share one of the outdoor houses together. Within the past year she has been coming inside more and staying longer with each visit. Whoever wants to adopt Drama needs to be patient with her. She has been an outdoor cat her whole life and may take some time to trust new people. She is nice to any humans, but those she doesn't know she isn't immediately trusting. She may want to continue to go outside but is comfortable indoors.

Luna's Personality Luna is a very friendly, inquisitive, and confident kitty. Despite his name, Luna is a BOY! When he was a kitten, his family thought he was a girl so they named the kitten Luna. He knows his name so we haven't changed it. Luna is very social and enjoys being petted. He loves hanging out with his foster family and interacting with people. Luna can be quite talkative so be prepared to have conversations with him! Luna is a confident kitty but, like most cats, will need a few days to settle into a new home. He's not shy and doesn't hide, but may be a bit vocal! He has learned the joy of playing with cat toys, and especially likes having a drawer or box full of toys that he can rummage through and decide what to play with next. Luna also LOVES to hop inside a box or a paper bag. Luna loves to find adventures and enjoys having plenty of places to play "hide and seek." He is very intelligent so odds are he would enjoy cat puzzles! What Type of Home Luna Needs Luna needs a home where he has plenty of room to roam around. He is used to living in a single family home with multiple people, including children. He needs a home with more than one person. A family with older kids (over 12 yrs of age) who are cat savvy would be fine, but no young children. He can get a little 'mouthy' when he plays so we are teaching him some manners. We don't know how he would be with other cats or dogs, so we are seeking a home with no other pets. Where Luna Came From Luna came from a loving home that was no longer able to care for him. &#239&#187&#191&#239&#187&#191Celeste's Personality  Celeste may remind you of a pup the way she wants to sniff your hand before letting you pet her. It’s probably to see if you have a treat for her! When you’re sleeping, she may crawl up on your pillow to lull you to sleep with her purrs. And she purrs a lot. Very loud and very often. Celeste is happiest when she is chasing her laser pointer, taking a nap in the sun shining through a window, or hanging out with her foster parents. This chunky charmer likes to be close by and follows you from room to room. This “heavenly” girl is super sweet. She is also a bit shy and will take a little time to warm up, but once she does, Celeste is a delightfully soft mush of a cat. Then she’ll be looking for pets as she sits on top of her cat tree. And give her a bit of catnip and she’ll be rolling over for a bunch of belly rubs. We love her sassy way of telling us what she wants. This girl is a talker…when she wants something, she will let you know. It’s all friendly talk, and very hard to resist. We find that she also likes to watch a little TV…so far tennis has been her favorite! She’ll perk up and watch the TV screen from next to you on the couch or her cat tree. It’s really cute. Between the catnip, the treats and her tree, she happily spends the day with you. Keeping an eye on your comings and goings. You’ll enjoy her gentle and endearing company. What Type of Home Celeste Needs  Celeste needs a peaceful home with an experienced cat caretaker who understands that she will need a little time to adapt. She would be fine with a quiet, older cat-savvy child. Celeste would do best as the only cat in her home unless she stays with her sister, Nova (posted separately). They do fine together but don't interact much because they have different personalities and needs.  Celeste is on a very strict calorie and portion-controlled over-the-counter canned food diet. Her caretakers need to be committed to sticking with her strict weight management plan with monthly weight checks. We will supply a pet scale to keep her on track. Where Celeste Came From  Celeste, and her sister, Nova (adopted), were adopted out as kittens to what we thought was a wonderful home. Sadly, their caretakers decided, just shy of their 8th birthdays, they didn’t want them anymore. However, based on their neglectful condition, this has turned out to be a good thing even though this upheaval has been hard on Celeste. Both girls appear healthy despite being very overweight.
