Story
Jen is a gorgeous 12 year old tabby cat looking for her forever home! Her temperament and a young toddler in the house do not mix well, so she is looking for a home without kids. Jen likes cuddling with her people, but is hesitant to warm up to strangers. She has gotten less friendly in her older age, but she copes by taking her anxiety meds once a day. In her ideal home, Jen would be a solo pet living with an adult family who likes a good snuggle.

Story
Charli Girl is a girls best friend. She’s very ladylike, enjoys cuddling, doesn’t mind dressing up. I don’t think she has an aggressive bone in her petite body! Due to health challenges I need to rehome her in a loving home. This is truly heartbreaking for me but I must do what’s best for her. If you have a big heart please consider spoiling Charli Girl.

Story
Ron Cheesely is a gigantic orange tabby. He showed up with his little sister and their mom in September 2020. He is a little clumsy because he doesn’t realize how big he is and has poor vision from a suspected bite wound/infection when he came to us. He is super friendly, but startles easily, so combined with his size could scratch if he jumps off your lap unexpectedly. That’s his worst trait, which makes him a pretty great cat. (Or possibly his insatiable appetite; he eats every scrap of food he can find.) He loves bird watching in the windowsill, and collecting office supplies to deposit under my rugs. He’s a giant playful kitten. Currently I still have him and his sister along with 4 other pets, I love them, and will not send them to the pound, but something’s gotta give! I have zillions of pics to share with any interested parties, and am happy to host visits to meet them. They’re great cats.

Story
Carmella’s Personality  Carmella (affectionately called Mel) is a perfect blend of snuggles and fun! This adorable teenager loves morning cuddles and curling up in your lap, making biscuits as she purrs away. As the day unfolds, Carmella transitions into play mode, bouncing around with joy and exploring every corner of her domain.  In the afternoons, you’ll find her basking in sunny spots, napping and recharging for her evening antics. Carmella is fearless when it comes to meeting new people, always eager for a friendly face. When she’s not in the mood to play, Mel loves to take some time for herself, often found bathing or napping in a quiet corner. In the evenings, she turns up the energy by sprinting up and down the stairs, ready for some fun! Bonus: she likes to play fetch and is happy to bring her toys back to you, ready for another round of playtime.  What Type of Home Carmella Needs  Mel needs a home where she will get plenty of interaction and playtime with her guardians. She also needs a young, like-minded cat buddy to bond and play with. Caramella’s best match will most likely be another female because young male cats tend to be bigger, more rambunctious, and engage in rougher play than what’s compatible for female cats. Where Carmella Came From Carmella came from an active home with young children and another cat.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Story
Oliver's Personality Oliver is a sweet orange and white tabby with big green eyes. He loves rolling on his back to maximize the chances you will rub his tummy, lying on a chair near a sunny window, and carrying his toys (especially a bean-bag “mouse”) around the house. He loves both men and women alike, but needs to be the only pet in his forever home. Oliver makes up his own mind about what he wants to do. He can be held, carried, and snuggled with on a lap when he's in the mood. That being said, he is a very people-oriented cat who loves hanging out with his foster parents. If they change locations, he follows them. If he can’t find them, he calls out. He sleeps in bed or elsewhere in the bedroom with his foster parents at night. Oliver comes running when you call his name, and purrs easily when petted. He is moderately playful, not overly rambunctious. Oliver loves playing with people and on his own. At night, he often moves a pile of toys around the house for his foster parents to find in the morning. He is easily amused by running water and likes to watch the water when a shower is turned on. Oliver also likes to meet new people and greets visitors with an invitation to pet him. Oliver is a sweet and gentle boy who is easy to love! What Type of Home Oliver Needs Oliver needs a home where is he the only cat and where people are around to keep him company. A couple who work from home at least part of the time or a family with a quiet older child or two would be ideal. Oliver thrives on being near or interacting with people. It was a bit of an adjustment for Oliver when first coming into our care - he wasn't eating much and would hide when his foster parents weren't around. However, as soon as they went looking for him, he emerged to seek affection. We tried integrating Oliver with another cat but he has shown us that he needs to be the only cat in the home. Where Oliver Came From Oliver had been living in a home of college students until his caretaker abandoned him when he moved out. With no warning, this person moved out and left Oliver behind. Luckily one of the roommates, an animal-loving person with a dog of her own, contacted her mother, a former SPCA NOVA volunteer, who agreed to take Oliver into her care until SPCA could offer him a safe haven.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA.
