Story
Darcy and Atticus were adopted at 9 months in December, 2024 from Patriot Pawsabilities. The two male tabbies are a strongly bonded pair, now just over 2 years old, and should be adopted together. The boys have been neutered, microchipped, have had regular vet care, including all up-to-date vaccinations. Both cats are easygoing & affectionate, love to wrestle & chase each other play with strings & small chew toys, and are indoor cats. The boys are about 12 pounds, will sit on laps or nestle close to their human companions preferring to be close to them whenever possible. Darcy is very outgoing, Atticus a bit shy, but neither cat ever bites or scratches people. They have big appetites, so food should be monitored. Atticus has stomatitis, an autoimmune challenge, requiring the removal of all his teeth, so he must always be on a hydrolyzed protein diet...which Darcy eats, as well. Adoptive parents should PLEASE take the boys together, because they have been bonded since birth.

Story
🧡 Meet Beckett – Your New Best Friend! 🧡 If you've been dreaming of a cat who greets you at the door, follows you from room to room, and makes every day a little brighter, Beckett may be the perfect match. This handsome 3-year-old orange tabby is packed with charm, affection, and personality. At 10 pounds, he's the perfect-sized companion with a huge heart and an endless supply of purrs. Beckett loves people and isn't shy about showing it—he'll happily seek out attention, lean into head rubs and ear scratches, and make you feel like the center of his world. However, he does sometimes get overstimulated and forgets that arms/legs are not playthings. We think with more space, attention than he's getting now, or another playful feline companion, that behavior will subside. Beckett is confident, curious, and always interested in what's going on around him. He enjoys exploring new spaces, chasing toys, and then settling in nearby for quality time with his favorite humans. Why Beckett is so special: 🐾 Friendly, affectionate, and people-focused 😻 Loves pets, ear scratches, and attention 🏠 Confident and adaptable in new environments 🎾 Playful and curious without being overly demanding 🧡 A loyal companion who truly enjoys being with his people Beckett has never met a stranger—just friends he hasn't charmed yet. If you're looking for a loving companion who will welcome you home each day and fill your life with affection, Beckett is waiting to meet you. Come meet Beckett and see for yourself why orange cats are famous for stealing hearts! Meet him in Alexandria, VA Posted 6/11/26

Story
5 mos old Noodles made her way from an overcrowded North Carolina shelter to the DMV in search of a brighter future and a forever home! This adorable 5-month-old girl sports a pretty brown tabby coat hi-lighted with orange and an even more beautiful heart. She’s happiest being in your arms and soaking up all the love she can get. Noodles is a total sweetheart who loves scratches, playtime, and of course treats. She is a champion cuddler who adores being petted and will purr her heart out to show her appreciation. A big fan of being close to people, Noodle is also a devoted leg-rubber who happily gets underfoot and just wants to be part of the action. She would make an excellent first kitty for a new cat owner and is ready to be someone’s perfect little companion! Posted 6/6/26

Story
Meet Atticus — the ultimate combination of adventurer and snuggler!Atticus is a charming male cat who lives life with delightful enthusiasm. In the cat room, he’s a brave explorer, confidently checking out every nook, cranny, and cat tree like he’s mapping uncharted territory. If there’s a perch to conquer or a toy to pounce on, Atticus is already on the case. But don’t let his explorer’s heart fool you — this boy is also a lap cat extraordinaire. The moment you sit down, he’ll appear as if summoned, ready to curl up, purr contentedly, and claim his spot as your personal cuddle companion. He truly believes every lap was designed with him in mind. Playful, affectionate, and endlessly curious, Atticus is the perfect mix of silly and sweet. He’s looking for a home that appreciates both his adventurous spirit and his world-class snuggling skills. If you’re ready for a loyal sidekick who brings warmth, whiskers, and whimsy to your days, Atticus is your guy. Want to meet him? He’s ready to explore your lap next!Atticus is positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which means his adopter should be mindful of his health and provide regular veterinary care. Many FIV-positive cats live long, happy, healthy lives—and Atticus is no exception. He can even live with other friendly cats. This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! Lorilei is a sweet, talkative, independent girl who loves affection on her own terms. Story
Dusty is an independent, outdoor-savvy cat who comes from a feral background and is best suited for a working-cat placement where they can live freely with minimal human interaction. Having spent their life outside and accustomed to caring for themselves, Dusty is not socialized to people and prefers to keep distance, though there is no known history of bites or scratches. Dusty will thrive in an environment such as a barn, stable, workshop, or rural property that can offer safe shelter, daily food and water, and the freedom to live on their own terms. In return, Dusty can help naturally manage rodents and become a dependable, low-maintenance member of your property.Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Michael R.
