Story
Snowflake is a very sweet cat that loves to snuggle up. We adopted Snowflake from the Human Society approximately 10 years ago, when he was a kitten. He loves attention and is well behaved, including with the cat litter. He gets along well with our giant breed dog and with any new adults. Unfortunately in the past few months he seems to have developed a sensitivity to our young children, resulting in sporadic attacks. He has scratched our youngest twice in the face recently and is increasingly aggressive in their presence. Snowflake's new home should not have any young children.

Story
FOSTER or FOREVER Home Needed Beckett has been stuck in a local shelter cage for a month and is ready to make his escape. He is your classic very affectionate ginger tabby with a heart of gold! Beckett is quite social, looking out both sides of his kennel to see who is coming to visit, and coming to his kennel door to say hello. Beckett loves affection, standing up to ask for head rubs and learning into ear scratches with bliss. He is cool and confident in new places, exploring every corner with curiosity. He enjoys some active play once he has scoped out his surroundings. Meet him and fall in love ! Posted 6/11/26

Story
5 mos old Noodles made her way from an overcrowded North Carolina shelter to the DMV in search of a brighter future and a forever home! This adorable 5-month-old girl sports a stunning marble coat and an even more beautiful heart. She’s happiest being in your arms and soaking up all the love she can get. Noodles is a total sweetheart who loves scratches, playtime, and of course treats. She is a champion cuddler who adores being petted and will purr her heart out to show her appreciation. A big fan of being close to people, Noodle is also a devoted leg-rubber who happily gets underfoot and just wants to be part of the action. She would make an excellent first kitty for a new cat owner and is ready to be someone’s perfect little companion! Posted 6/6/26

Story
Reggie is a wonderful, small (6 pound), neutered, affectionate, incredibly soft, sweet cat. He is an 11- year-old brown tabby who still loves to play. Reggie loves to toss around small toys and chase a stick under any rug. He loves company and being petted, especially on rugs and stairs, and to sit on the back of a chair to nudge your head. There is no question that Reggie is still adorable and active.Situation: Reggie is a small male cat, about half the size of our other cats. Being frequently chased by them has caused stress, which occasionally leads to spraying. We believe he would thrive as the only pet in a home with a woman who has time to give him attention esp. becuase he didn't spray previously. He hides from men and children and has never lived with dogs. Reggie is an indoor-only cat. He has mild eye discharge and slight farsightedness from kittenhood herpes (not contagious), plus only his fangs due to tooth resorption, but he eats normally and is otherwise healthy.

Story
She was adopted when she was 7 months old from BARCS. She was a bit shy and hesitant but warmed up after a year. She is litter trained and likes wet food and treats. She is up to date on her vaccinations. She is currently 3 years old. She is very loving but still cautious about life. She likes to play. Not really big on being picked up or held. But if you’re her favorite, she will allow you to hold her. She needs a new home that is loving and patient as she is still a hesitant and nervous little girl. She really is sweet and I wish I could keep her longer.

Story
Nala is a wonderful rescue I took in 4 years ago and have absolutely loved. She is a shy little girl but is SO lovely. She adores cuddles and pets and being you companion once she gets used to you. She is not a big play cat but will when she is in a certain mood. She has lived around large dogs her whole adopted life but generally needs calm dogs who do not chase her or invade her space. Her bestie is my best friends dog, Jack, who is a Lab Husky mix. They will cuddle and love on each other daily. If there are a lot of people or a lot of noise, she tends to go find a comfy place to hide out and especially loves cozy small spaces or sunbathing in sun patches or the window.Upon adoption, you will get all you could possibly need to take care of Nala including an automatic feeder, automatic watering bowl, 2 litter boxes, toys, brushes, carrier, etc.

Story
Meet Salty! Don't let the name fool you, because this handsome guy is one hundred percent sweet and zero percent sodium. At just around a year old, Salty is the perfect blend of kitten-like playfulness and absolute snuggle bug. He had a bit of a rough start to life, and after first being spotted when he was much younger, it seems someone in the neighborhood may have taken him in and later put him outside. Because of this, he came to his fosters super skinny, but they have been happily working on fattening him up, and he is incredibly grateful for every meal. Salty has bounced back from his tough past with nothing but joy, energy, and a massive heart. This professional purr machine has some of the best quirks you could ask for in a feline companion. For starters, move over dogs, because Salty’s absolute favorite pastime is playing fetch. He is incredibly toy-motivated and will keep you entertained for hours. He also loves climbing into random, unexpected places, keeping life interesting with his adventurous spirit. When he is done exploring, his engine starts up the moment you scratch his head. Salty is fully litter-box trained, and after a good play session, his favorite thing in the world is just hanging out right next to you, soaking up all the love you are willing to give. To help him live his absolute best life, Salty is looking for a specific type of forever home. He would do best as the only cat in the household so he can keep all your affection, and his toys, entirely to himself. Ultimately, Salty just wants to be fed regularly, kept safe, and showered with love. He is so ready to find a family to lounge next to.
