Story
Are you shy? Do you have a past? Well, so does Jimbo. He came to us from a not so nice person. He was shut down and terrified of everything. Now after some work and confidence building he is learning to trust and to love again. Jimbo is a special guy who just needs patience to make you a friend. He loves other dogs but not so much cats. He is great with women after you've earned his trust. Men are harder for him unfortunately but if you're willing to be patient then maybe you could take a chance on this handsome guy. Once you earn his trust he is the most amazing, loving, kind, silly boy you'd meet! If you're anything like him and have a past you know just how hard it is to gain your trust but when people do you're the best thing in the world. Could he build trust with you? If Jimbo seems like the perfect boy to take a chance on, please apply on the MACS website!February 26, 2024, 9:04 am

Story
Ida Mae is a country girl, she loves the outdoors and the farm life.  She was dumped near a farm and the woman there was kind enough to take her in and put weight back on her and get her vetted.  Unfortunately many dogs are dumped here so she patiently awaits a home of her own. Ida Mae prefers the outdoors and would be a great camping and hiking partner or would love to live and work on a farm.  She is good with most farm animals though we don't know about cats. Ida Mae is located in Tignall GA where there is no formal animal control facility and very little help for homeless pets. Please be willing to meet in the Athens or Madison, GA area -- which is about halfway between here and their foster (who cares for many and can't be too far from home base). Age: 1 yr  Weight: 50 lbs  Training: Housetraining in progress and crate-trained.   Temperament: Good with dogs and kids (no experience with younger/toddlers).    Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention.  Email for questions: messparker@gmail.com   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.February 26, 2024, 8:19 am

Story
Marie is a real go-getter.  She loves an active life, she loves the water and would like a family who can help her get out her energy and share her zest for life.   She is a little cautious with new people but warms up quickly.  We say she's better with older kids because she is bigger and high energy. She does need to be an only pet. Age: 2 years  Weight: approx 60 lbs   Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, and heartworm negative   Temperament: not good with other dogs or cats, initially cautious with new people, best with older kids.  Training: House trained, crate trained, some well trained.  Contact email:  Sheltersxshelvesrescue@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded, and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself February 26, 2024, 8:19 am

Story
This is Cinderella, female Catahoula mix. A sweet, loving, not so little girl. She is the smallest of 5 siblings but not by much. My guess for her grownup weight would also be 60-70 pounds. She needs lots of exercise so she would not be a good fit for apartment living. She has been living with her siblings since birth but is good with other dogs as well. She is ready for adoption into a good home. She is fixed, chipped, and fully vetted. Age: 4 mo.   Weight: 15 Temperament: Good with dogs and kids   Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, HW testing at 6 mos.    Training: House training needed, crate trained  For questions, please email loramyers51@yahoo.com     To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. This is Apollo. As a catahoula/cur mix, he needs room to run. Fully grown 60-70 pounds. I don’t think he would be a good fit for apartment living. Story
Lottie aka Lot T Dah. She is an amazingly sweet little black and tan hound mix that is about 3 to 5 years old. Weighing in at 40-50lbs. She is great with other dogs and we do not know about cats, but she appears to have a very low prey drive. Lottie is just now coming into her own. She is becoming more playful each day. She loves cuddles and pets. She is a little timid and would prefer to follow you than lead during a walk. Lottie loves people, and attaches quickly. She is the perfect couch potato. adoption fee $300 includes spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms To fill out an application visit https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/33868/generic   ##1794064##
