Story
Meet Shorty -- a very sweet boy with a big heart! Shorty is a happy, loving little guy who just wants to be close to his people. This adorable 1.5-year-old Catahoula Leopard/Beagle mix, weighing about 44 lbs, was saved at the very last moment from Polk County Shelter. He&#39s a truly special boy with striking heterochromia--one warm brown eye and one beautiful blue--that make him unforgettable. At first, Shorty was scared and unsure, but once he realized he was safe, his personality blossomed. Now he&#39s full of love, kisses, and tail wags! He&#39s still a bit shy, when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and shows his affectionate side in no time. Shorty adores other dogs and loves running around the house with his canine friends--he fits right into the pack! He&#39s also cat-friendly and doesn&#39t bother them at all. He&#39d be happiest in a home with another friendly dog to keep him company. Shorty is crate-trained, potty-trained, and learning his leash manners like a champ. He has a low to medium energy level and enjoys a mix of playtime and snuggles. While he&#39s a bit nervous getting into the car, he absolutely loves the ride once it&#39s underway. And don&#39t let his short legs fool you--this little guy can really move! Shorty is the perfect blend of gentle, loyal, and fun--a wonderful companion ready to bring joy to his forever family. He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. If you&#39re interested in adopting this sweet boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.December 5, 2025, 12:09 pm

Story
This is Mia! I rescued Mia from Newton County Animal Shelter where she was surrendered with her siblings. She just recently turned 1 in November. Mia is an absolute sweetheart with no mean bone in her body! She absolutely loves to be with other dogs and has the energy to play all day! Unfortunately, I have had to come to the incredibly tough decision to rehome her due to my new busy 60+ hour work schedule. Mia is part Catahoula Leopard Dog and Pitbull Terrier, meaning she is a very high drive energy dog! Mia would thrive being in a home where her owners are able to provide her a proper enriching environment for her high energy needs. Mia is shy with people at first, but warms up shortly after to show you her goofy silly self! Please message me if you are interested in having sweet Mia join your family!

Hank is a handsome young man- he is just over a year old and strong at 65 lbs. He is neutered and has completed basic obedience training to which I can provide receipt. He is leash trained. He is such a goof ball and loves to play, he is the best car rider ever, and enjoys all types of company! He is a big boy and deserves all the attention he can get by an owner that is able to handle his stature- He needs to be in a an active dog only household. I am looking to rehome him to give him the fullest life has to offer. He is incredibly smart and his personality is undeniable! I know his gorgeous coating and manners will allow him to find a new home.

Story
Foghorn (Augie at his foster) is a true Southern gentleman&#44 polite and charming. His signature move is to lean against your leg and flash you his baby blues&#44 mesmerizing you into petting him as though its your lifes purpose. This cool drink of sweet tea is a friend to every person he meets and a phenomenal walking partner&#44 graciously adjusting his leggy stride to your pace.

A hound to the core&#44 he loves outdoor adventures full of sniffs&#44 a fine game of retrieve&#44 tracking varmints&#44 and - when he is truly in his feelings - singing the song of his people. His best home will not have shared walls or kitties and will have either a yard or plenty of wooded walks where he can freely express his true self.

You know how introverts will gather in a room but be perfectly content each doing their own thing&#44 together-but-apart? That is Foghorns dream life! He has exceptional dog manners but isnt looking for playmates. Hanging out on the porch greeting the neighbors? Hes down for that. Babysitting the young uns? Not this Papaw.

Housetrained&#44 crate trained&#44 and happy in the car&#44 what more are you looking for?

Story
Meet Lovely Maggie – The Stunning Blue Leopard Catahoula Mix! Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear fur and chase squirrels. Maggie is a sweetheart couch potato, bed hopper, breathtaking 4-year-old blue leopard Catahoula mix with one solid blue eye and a striking blue chip in the other. This smart, affectionate, and loyal girl is the perfect companion for someone who loves the unique personality of the Catahoula breed. Maggie’s Journey Maggie’s history is mostly unknown. She was rescued from animal control in North Georgia and given a second chance at life. Why You’ll Love Maggie Loyal & Affectionate: Maggie thrives on being close to her human. She loves snuggling, lounging on the couch, or napping nearby, making her the perfect cuddle buddy. Low-Key Couch Potato with a Fun Side: While Maggie is mostly laid-back, she also enjoys walks, hikes, and car rides—anything that allows her to spend quality time with her person. Meal Time Enthusiast: Maggie’s favorite part of the day is mealtime! Her excitement is unmatched, and she’ll eagerly await her food with adorable enthusiasm. Crate-Trained & Well-Behaved: Maggie is perfectly crate-trained and will happily run into her crate for a treat. The decision to re-home our Honey is a very difficult one, I have to do what is best for her, my family, and I. This decision is based on my being overwhelmed. I have experienced personal health issues. My sister became ill with cancer, so I am caring for her child. I also care for my grandchild most of the week. I also care for my son's senior German Shepherd. Honey deserves better. She will surely thrive. She has a great temperament. Very calm and sweet. She loves to go on hikes and camping. Story
Lottie is a Black and Tan hound approximately 45-50 lbs and estimated to be 4-5 years old. She is moderate energy and likes other dogs. Her favorite activities include hanging out on the couch, briefly chasing after another dog. Collecting all the dog toys and bringing them to her bed to hide. * Lottie needs to be in a home with another dog that can lead her around. Being an only dog is too stressful for Lottie and brings out her hound anxiety. It is too much pressure for Lottie to be an only dog. **Special needs ** Lottie is on medication for Seizures. She is on a low dose of Phenobarbital which she takes twice a day and is inexpensive and can be obtained from a pharmacy. Tick prevention is one of the known triggers for her seizures. We have her on flea/heartworm prevention only. adoption fee $300 includes spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms To fill out an application visit https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/33868/generic ##1794064##
