Meet Posie. Posie came to us from a commercial breeding kennel. She is about 4 and half years old and she weighs 5 lbs. Posie is very people and other dog friendly. She is in a foster home with other small dogs and a fenced in yard. She does go potty outside but housebreaking is going to be a work in progress for her since she lived in a crate all of her life until she came to us. Posie is now spayed, had a dental cleaning and is up to date with vaccines and microchipped. She tested negative for heartworm and has been started on monthly heartworm prevention. Meet Lily. Lily came to us as a retired breeder dog from a commercial kennel. She is a Yorkie and weighs about 6 lbs. Lily turns 4 years old in July 2025. She is more on the shy side but she is learning how to be loved in her foster home. Lily will do best in a home with a securely fenced yard and another small dog to help her learn how great living in a home can be. Lily gets along well with the other small dogs in her foster home. She is now spayed and had a dental cleaning. Sadly her teeth were so bad that all but one had to be removed so she will have to stay on soft food. Lily is up to date with vaccines and microchipped. She is working on housebreaking and crate training in her foster home but her adopter will need to continue to work on it. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Meet Ginger. Ginger came to us after her owner passed away. She was in a home with many other dogs, cats and even pot belly pigs. Ginger is scared of new people at first, but she does like to cuddle once she gets to know you. She does seem to like men faster then women and will cuddle with them first. Ginger does like to be with other small dogs so a home with another small friendly dog is going to be a must for her. She is not a fan of the leash at all, but we keep trying. She will do best going out to potty in a home with a securely fenced in yard so does need the fenced in yard. We don't know exactly what she is mixed with, her hair does seem like Yorkie and she is an adult, we think at least 5 years old. She weighs about 9 lbs. Ginger came to us spayed, but she was in desperate need of a dental cleaning so she just had that done and her vaccines are now all up to date. She is microchipped and tested negative for heartworm and was started on monthly heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $200.00. Because she does get scared easily we are not recommending a home with children for Ginger. Her adoption fee is $975.00. Cienna is that cute little monster you can’t help but love! She is 18 months old and 7 1/2 lbs. She’s a people-lover extraordinaire. She greets new people with a wildly wagging tail and a barrage of licks. It appears that she’s also fine with new dogs we meet on walks. She eats very well and respects the other dogs’ dishes while they eat. She will, however, go in for any leftovers until one of the others warns her off. Amazingly, she rings the bells at the back door when she wants to go outside…but beware, she LOVES the yard and it’s hard to coax her back in. Cienna needs some dental surgery in two weeks and she’ll need to recover from that before she’s available. Cienna will need a household with one or more other dogs as playmates. She also will need a lot of exercise. A fenced yard is a must for her. Although she plays with toys, she also will find ANYTHING to gnaw on. Until she grows out of it or it’s trained out of her, your household must be puppy-proofed. Bitter-apple spray helps. She is staying in New Canaan, CT with Mary Anne and Michael.
