Story
Meet Ziggy!! This little guy was found by a shelter worker in a very rural part in the Tx Panhandle. She held onto him for almost a month trying to find his owner, which never happened. We knew we could find a good home for him here in Jersey so got we placed him with a foster until he arrived last Friday the 22nd. Ziggy is approx 2 yrs old, fully vetted (neutered/vacs/chipped). He is not a fan of the crate, but he doesn't really need it though. He is good with other dogs but bigger dogs tend to scare him a bit. He doesn't seem to care about the fosters cats either. He does love children however, a home without young children will be required. His only "quirk" is that he will bolt when doors are opened. This should not be a deal breaker. A trainer could easily assist with threshold training or a small barrier gate could be placed around the front door. He is very sweet and affectionate. If you would like to make this sweet boy a part of your family, please complete the online application to begin the process. https://furrytailendingscaninerescue.org/adoption-application/ **A PHYSICAL FENCED IN YARD IS STRONGLYPREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED** ** BREED MIX DNA PENDING** **PLEASE NOTE EMAILS FROM THE SITE EXPRESSING YOUR INTEREST IN ADOPTING WILL NOT BE ANSWERED. Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Harper is available for adoption. He is 1 year old and weighs 8 lbs. His adoption fee is $900.00. Harper, at one and a half years old, is all energy and playfulness.  He is neutered, house trained, crate trained, and sleeps through the night. His original family gave him lots of love and care, but unexpected near-tragic events compelled them to turn to a series of temporary caretakers and then finally decide to surrender him to the rescue. So, Harper would dearly love to find a forever home where he can get the consistent loving care he deserves. Harper is an exuberant pup!  He loves chasing toys, bringing them back, refusing to give them up, and running off all over again. He loves running after and tussling with his foster brother.  He loves car rides (and is learning not to bark at the dogs he sees on the sidewalk). He knows basic commands like “sit” and “look.”  Initially, when on walks Harper was hyper-reactive, barking loudly and at dogs and people. We are working with him to alter this instinctual fear, and Harper is making a little progress with this every day.  Because Harper is under three, the Rescue requires that he be adopted to a home with a fenced yard. Harper is staying with Tricia in Charlottsville, VA. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 7:59 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Jack B Nimble is available for adoption. He is 10 years old and weighs 12 lbs. His adoption fee is $500.00. Introducing Jack B Nimble, we welcomed Jack to our home as our newest foster March 23rd. Jack rabbit is also a great name for Jack, he’s fast, and quick to move out of your way if needed. He was a surrender from a home that rescued him when he happened to be in a difficult situation. Not sure of the first home, but the young couple who felt they needed to take him in have 3 very small children and another on the way. He was also not appreciated by the family’s older lab, and they felt he would do so much better in a quieter home. Jack is approx 10 years old and was quite nervous during the first part of his trip home. He finally fell asleep out of exhaustion and when we got home introductions were made with Gia and Gertie. I believe all in all the initial introduction was a success. Since he’s been here Gertie has displayed her alpha female personality and were closely watching as all he wants to do is be friends with both of our dogs. Jack is a total sweetheart, perfectly potty trained, walks very well on a leash and loves to be outside, when he wants to be held he will approach me and put his paws up on the chair so I can help him up. He doesn’t want to be on my lap, but loves sitting and laying next to me. He absolutely loves to eat, gives hand kisses, and I’ve started him both on our bed for sleeping and then I transfer him to a bed next to me on the floor and he is very used to that. I think it’s the best of both worlds for his new family. His favorite way to play is fetch and tug -a-war.He sleeps thru the night and does not have a difficult bone in his little body. The only issue we had in the beginning was once he found his voice he did not want to give it up. We have been working on No Bark for only 2 days and we see a vast improvement. he’s a smart cute little man. He will be going to the vet for his first appt and getting groomed next week. Stay updated for further information on Jack!    Jack is staying with Jan and Tom in Erie Pa.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 7:59 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Sully is available for adoption. He is 4 years old and weighs 11 lbs. His adoption fee is $700.00. Introducing your new best friend, Sully! Sully is estimated to be about 4.5 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and does not have any health concerns at this time. He is being fostered in Elkton, Maryland. Sully has been in rescue for a few months now and has undergone training. He requires an experienced dog owner that is ready and willing to take on a challenge and continue training. Sully is the absolute sweetest boy ever and loves to snuggle up and get belly rubs. The reason he is with a behavioral trainer in foster care is because he has had a tough life so far and does not trust people very quickly. Sully desperately needs someone that is willing to give him this second chance at life and provide a forever home for him!  My favorite traits about Sully are: He loves to kiss and snuggle, as well as receive belly rubs - I mean, who doesn’t?  He gets along well with the other dogs in the household but is honestly pretty neutral. He would be just fine in a house with other dogs, or being the only dog. He’s not picky!  He is very relaxed and I never have to worry about him getting into trouble when he’s left alone. He likes to lounge most of the day, but also gets excited when it’s time for a walk!  He is crate trained and loves his crate! As soon as I say “get in your bed”, he runs right in! He sleeps in the crate every night, which is strongly advised to continue based on his training.  He loves being outside and now that the weather has finally gotten nice, he is thriving out there!  He gets so happy when we come home and is a great welcomer.  He will sometimes do a small howl when he’s happy which I just find adorable!  He has a great appetite and proves to be food motivated in training.  My favorite of all probably has to be seeing him come out of his shell and become a comfortable, confident dog who found a love of toys and playing. He likes to hoard all my red toys! I think that’s his favorite color.    More about Sully’s training progress:  It took a lot of time and effort on multiple members of the rescue’s account to learn more about Sully. When he first came into rescue, no one knew much about him as he was found as a stray. We aren’t sure what he has witnessed or what he’s been through so it can make training tough when trying to learn what his triggers are. Throughout my time with Sully so far, I have theorized that regardless of figuring out what he’s been through, he definitely does not trust people upon first meeting and displays defensive behaviors when people do certain motions such as hug each other, high five, etc. - basically touch each other in any way. When we first got him, he went after us multiple times in the span of a few weeks. We played around with different training techniques to see what he responded best to and discovered that positive reinforcement and treats was the best way to go for him. I did not trust Sully and he did not trust me. Throughout these past two months, Sully has made tremendous progress. I can see a huge difference in his confidence and trust in people, and I can say with ease that I trust him now. My family was able to come over and visit and he was happily wagging his tail the whole time, taking treats from everyone. He took a nap on my lap while everyone was in the room which never would’ve happened in the early stages.     I was instructed to keep him off the website until I was confident that he was ready to placed in a forever home. It’s a bittersweet moment but he is ready.    The perfect owner for Sully would understand that when Sully undergoes yet another home change to be adopted, he may display some behaviors that reflect his emotions from being uprooted from what he currently knows. There is a chance Sully may need time and effort on your part to get to know you and learn to trust you, just as he has done with me. I can assure you that once you have created that bond with him, it will be the best! He is so loving and he deserves someone to choose him, love him, and vouch for him. He has so much potential and just requires an adopter who is experienced with the breed and knowledgable when it comes to handling his trust issues going forward. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about Sully to determine if he’s the right fit for you, and if you’re the right fit for him!    Sully is staying with Olivia in Elkton, MD.
