Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Candace is available for adoption. She is 11 years old and weighs 15 lbs. Her adoption fee is $350.00.   This week has been a pretty quiet one for Candi. We did not get out as much as we normally do, not because of Candi but because of the rainy weather.  My 2 just stand there, door open wide just looking at me. Not Candi, once I put her raincoat on - out the door we go! She is a good walker and moves down the sidewalk at a good pace. She loves to meet people and their 2 and 4 legged babies. Her little tail gets going and you can tell how much she loves the attention. She is so well behaved and calm that it doesn’t take long for people to approach her. Even the little kids… because she’s so calm and happy they aren’t afraid of her.   Candi does not give kisses much but she does likes to lick you. Whether it’s to say she “loves me,” or to get my attention, or because I taste good I’m not sure. She is not a slobber-er or has bad breath so it does not bother me at all. She is truly such a well behaved sweet girl, just wished she wouldn’t look away when she sees the camera!   Candace is staying with Deb in Phoenixville, PA. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Finneas is available for adoption. He is 1 year old and weighs 14 lbs. His adoption fee is $800.00. Finneas is our 13.5 pound, 19 month old foster treasure. He’s a fetch-playing, leash-walking, pack-loving, heart-stealing bundle of puppy.  Our two other Yorkies play with him constantly, which he adores…so he really belongs in a multi-dog household. He eats with gusto and only becomes interested in the other pups’ dishes when they are left unattended.  He has learned to use the Pee-Pad pretty well.  Keeping an eye on him ensures compliance.  Otherwise, there might be an accident now and then (although getting him outside frequently does tend to eliminate the accidents. His low tolerance of strange dogs while out on a walk may just be an issue of socialization, but we’ll keep trying to get him to ignore the temptation to bark when he notices them.  His tolerance of people encountered on walks has become measurably better…only eliciting occasional single barks.  He’s a smart boy who tends to learn by example from the other pups in the house (pee-pad usage, sit for treats…) He can navigate stairs quite readily, loves to jump up on the couch with his humans (to watch Bobby Flay make some crispy rice) and sleeps quietly in his playpen all night only waking when the other pups say it's time to get up (typically – 5AM). Finneas is scheduled for his neutering on July 24th.  After a little convalescence, he will be available for adoption to the luckiest household in the world.  Maybe yours? Finneas is staying with Maryann and Michael in New Canaan, Ct.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 12:52 am

Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Chiqui is available for adoption. He is 11 years young and weighs 12 lbs. His adoption fee is $350.00.   This sweet boy was rescued right before his scheduled euthanization. He was surrendered to the shelter  by the mother of the owner who was caring for her 98 year old mother and she was unable to care for him. This boy is approximately 11 yo and weighs 12.9 lbs. He came to me from SAYR two weeks ago. At this time he is settling in nicely with my other Yorkie who is 13 yo.  Hi name is Chiqui pronounced 'cheeky'. I found that he only understands Spanish. Very interesting since I speak only English. Thanks to google translate! He is now following commands. He has a great appetite. Sleeps in his bed through the night. Loves a good belly rub.  Chiqui walks on a leash well but has shown some aggression to other dogs. We are working on that and he his quick to obey commands. At this time he is being treated for Kennel Cough. He is getting better and no longer has any symptoms of nasal discharge or cough. He has an appointment on Tuesday for a follow up with Dr. Felix. He needs a dental and we will schedule it after he is cleared medically. THIS BOY IS A GEM! Chiqui is staying with Diane in Clifton, NJ.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 12:52 am

Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Sonny is one of a bonded pair of Yorkies and will have to be adopted with Cher. Sonny is 3 years old and weighs 14 lbs. The adoption fee for BOTH DOGS is $1,000.00. This charming little gentleman was surrendered by his loving owner along with his sister when the family could no longer keep them. It's been less than a week since they arrived but right from the start Sonny has been ready for pets and snuggles. He's protective of his sister and always has to know where she is. Sonny enjoys curling up next to you on the couch or in his bed in the same room as you.    He is mostly potty-trained and goes out on the same schedule as his sister. Just like Cher, he also seems unperturbed by rain. We're working on his tendency to mark his territory and are hoping that with some training and his upcoming neuter it will decrease. Aside from that ongoing process, Sonny is a very well behaved and loving boy. He sits for treats, stands patiently for his belly band, and shares well with his sister.    Sonny is very good at bedtime. Initially he wants to be with you but takes turns between sleeping snuggled nearby, sleeping in his own bed, and patrolling the room to make sure everyone is safe. So far he seems to like the beds in corners of rooms best and hasn't shown interest in toys. If you're playing fetch with his sister he'll come to sit on your lap for cuddles.    He walks well on a leash and moves like a man on a mission. There's no time to stop and sniff! This little guy has places to be.    He is scheduled for his vet appointment and grooming next week, with his neuter hopefully scheduled soon thereafter.  Sonny and Cher are staying with Jenna in Buffalo, NY.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 12:52 am

Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog.     Cher is one of a bonded pair of Yorkies and will have to be adopted with Sonny. She is 3 years old and weighs 12 lbs. The adoption fee for BOTH DOGS is $1,000.00. This sweet girl was surrendered by her loving owner along with her brother when the family could no longer keep them. She has been here 5 days and, while initially slower to open up, is already very affectionate. Her ideal situation seems to be sitting in a lap or snuggling up next to you while also being close to her brother. Cher enjoys playing fetch with stuffed animals and getting belly rubs. She will eagerly sit for treats.   She is mostly potty-trained and lets us know it's time for her to go outside. We had rain this week and that didn't seem to bother her when it came time to go out. She sleeps through the night and will happily cuddle up next to your legs when it's bedtime.    Cher is a great guard dog, no mailmen will sneak up on your house without her letting you know. She's sometimes easily startled and looks to her brother for support. We're working on getting her used to noises around the house and hope she'll get comfortable enough to be able to relax more.    She does well on a leash and enjoys walks at a brisk pace. She's got lots of energy! Every day so far she and I have run around, playing in the backyard with Sonny following behind.    She is scheduled for her vet appointment and grooming next week, with her spaying hopefully scheduled soon thereafter.  Cher and Sonny are staying with Jenna in Buffalo, NY.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 12:52 am

She’s a loving little girl, very friendly and loves to be held! And what a chow hound! She started playing with some of my other fosters.
