Story
Lovable Lenny – this one year old, 6 lb bundle of love, fun and entertainment is a true gem of a guy.  He’s a Chorkie, mom is a Chihuahua and dad is a Yorkie.  Lenny is always  in a good mood, ready for the next adventure.  He is only ONE year old, tiny, happy go lucky and an ideal lap/cuddle boy. His owner became ill and could no longer care for this sweet little boy. He luckily landed with Critter Cavalry Rescue and a wonderful foster mom who took him in and has been getting him neutered and updated on all shots, Heartworm negative, dewormed and microchipped. The next step is to now find the perfect home that will love him forever so that he does not have to move around ever again.  He is very adaptable and can fit in with any environment and as they say, can hang with the best of them.  Fine with other dogs, cats and seems to be very easy going with children.  Make note that we would prefer older children due to Lenny’s delicate size.  He uses the puppy pad, but foster mom is working on housebreaking and a schedule he can rely on.  His former human was not physically able to walk him, so he is accustomed to puppy pads.  Lenny is adapting to all the new changes and living with a mom who is patient and showing him the rules and how to live a more active life with someone that is not handicapped and limited with taking him on walks or outside to the bathroom.  Lenny deserves a vibrant family and home that is active and ready to take him on adventures in life.  This little guy is smart and only wanting a stable life filled with love and the best of things that a young, small dog could expect.  If this is what you want to give Lenny then please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.  Lenny is ready NOW to make a change in his life that is good and secure PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 22, 2024, 10:09 pm

Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Harper is available for adoption. He is 1 year old and weighs 8 lbs. His adoption fee is $900.00. Harper, at one and a half years old, is all energy and playfulness.  He is neutered, house trained, crate trained, and sleeps through the night. His original family gave him lots of love and care, but unexpected near-tragic events compelled them to turn to a series of temporary caretakers and then finally decide to surrender him to the rescue. So, Harper would dearly love to find a forever home where he can get the consistent loving care he deserves. Harper is an exuberant pup!  He loves chasing toys, bringing them back, refusing to give them up, and running off all over again. He loves running after and tussling with his foster brother.  He loves car rides (and is learning not to bark at the dogs he sees on the sidewalk). He knows basic commands like “sit” and “look.”  Initially, when on walks Harper was hyper-reactive, barking loudly and at dogs and people. We are working with him to alter this instinctual fear, and Harper is making a little progress with this every day.  Because Harper is under three, the Rescue requires that he be adopted to a home with a fenced yard. Harper is staying with Tricia in Charlottsville, VA. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 21, 2024, 11:14 pm

Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. McGuyver is available for adoption. He is 1 year old and weighs 14 lbs. His adoption fee is $750.00.McGuyver is a young Yorkiepoo, about two years old and close to 15 pounds.  He has been with us a little over a month now and he seems more relaxed and  comfortable as he understands the routine in our home.  He is a really fun pup with a lot of energy! McGuyver is very playful- stuffies, balls, bones - he will play with it all! He loves to be outside to run, run, run, and his passion is hunting for chipmunks ,squirrels and birds. He is very athletic and can jump like an olympian hurdler, so a secure fenced yard is a must for him. McGuyver is good with commands like sit, come, off, and go to bed. We are working to learn other basic commands. McGuyver is smart and will try hard to do what you ask of him. He is also good with doing his business outside, sleeps well in his bed at night, and gets super excited when his people come home. His energy level is high all day, but he always enjoys some snuggling before bed and in the morning. He is quite the attention seeker!  He’s not sure about baths but he loves to be brushed. He even lets me brush his teeth.McGuyver definitely has a favorite person, however he barks at other people in our home currently, which we are working on and are seeing some progress. He gets along with our dogs but can be unaware of his body, so sometimes he gets in their space. As a young dog who has moved around a lot he needs some extra training and positive experiences to help him learn to become the best boy possible.  He will need more formal training. McGuyver wants to please and be loved! One day his dream of finding the perfect family will come true!  He is currently staying in Bloomsburg, PA. McGuyver is staying with Tammy in Bloomsburg, PA.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 21, 2024, 11:14 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Jack B Nimble is available for adoption. He is 10 years old and weighs 12 lbs. His adoption fee is $450.00. Introducing Jack B Nimble, we welcomed Jack to our home as our newest foster March 23rd. Jack rabbit is also a great name for Jack, he’s fast, and quick to move out of your way if needed. He was a surrender from a home that rescued him when he happened to be in a difficult situation. Not sure of the first home, but the young couple who felt they needed to take him in have 3 very small children and another on the way. He was also not appreciated by the family’s older lab, and they felt he would do so much better in a quieter home. Jack is approx 10 years old and was quite nervous during the first part of his trip home. He finally fell asleep out of exhaustion and when we got home introductions were made with Gia and Gertie. I believe all in all the initial introduction was a success. Since he’s been here Gertie has displayed her alpha female personality and were closely watching as all he wants to do is be friends with both of our dogs. Jack is a total sweetheart, perfectly potty trained, walks very well on a leash and loves to be outside, when he wants to be held he will approach me and put his paws up on the chair so I can help him up. He doesn’t want to be on my lap, but loves sitting and laying next to me. He absolutely loves to eat, gives hand kisses, and I’ve started him both on our bed for sleeping and then I transfer him to a bed next to me on the floor and he is very used to that. I think it’s the best of both worlds for his new family. His favorite way to play is fetch and tug -a-war.He sleeps thru the night and does not have a difficult bone in his little body. The only issue we had in the beginning was once he found his voice he did not want to give it up. We have been working on No Bark for only 2 days and we see a vast improvement. he’s a smart cute little man. He will be going to the vet for his first appt and getting groomed next week. Stay updated for further information on Jack!    Jack is staying with Jan and Tom in Erie Pa.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 21, 2024, 11:14 pm

Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Maximus is available for adoption. He is 10 years old and weighs 11 lbs. His adoption fee is $450.00. Maximus was born July 22, 2013, and had lived with his human family in Chesapeake for at least the past few years – unsure of his first 7-8 years. Over the past two years Max has had some medical issues, most notably ear polyps (otitis), which seemed to get minimal treatment, leading to other challenges (patella luxation, rear hip hitch, osteoarthritis) which also included peeing in the house. He has been neutered.  Around April 10th 2024, Max’s family brought Max to his Vet Doctor to be euthanized. The doctor declined, then took Max off the family’s hands.  The family signed Max over. Vet Tech Sara took care of Max while SAYR was contacted and marshalled resources to get Max to a foster family.   Maximus has some medical issues like ear polyps, he has allergies and needs a dental badly.  We are taking care of all of Max's medical needs. Maximus is staying with Lynn and Michael in Marlborough, CT.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 21, 2024, 11:14 pm

His adoption fee is $800.00.   Second Chance is a sweet boy that loves everyone. He does not mind grooming. He rides well in the car. He is playful and curious. Chance enjoys the backyard and loves to chase after the birds and the squirrels.  Chance will need a fenced yard. He enjoys the backyard and loves to chase after the birds and the squirrels.  Chance is still a puppy in many ways. He is like a wet noodle when you try to hold him and a little bit clumsy in his play. He is very curious and explores every room in the house and every nook and cranny in the yard. He will steal your socks to cuddle with. The second day he was here, he discovered the basket of toys in the hall. He took them out one by one and placed them all around his bed as if to keep him company at bedtime. He sleeps through the night and he is housetrained. I do not think he knew quite what else to do with toys. We have since played games with them and he is catching on. He will chase after them and sometimes bring it back to you, other times he runs away with it. I caught him entertaining himself with a soft ball, tossing it in the air and throwing it so he could chase it.   Chance does not know many commands; we are making progress on “Sit” and “Stay.” He does come when called. He seems to understand that he is Chance. Chance is affectionate and loves to be close to you. He gives kisses and will follow you everywhere. Because Chance is under three, the Rescue requires that he be adopted to a home with a fenced yard. Second Chance is staying with Dani in Chesapeake, VA.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 21, 2024, 11:14 pm
