I was found as a stray in Harrisburg, PA but luckily SAY Rescue pulled me out of the shelter and brought me to my new foster family in Livingston, NJ! I am just over 11 lbs and estimated to be around 2 years old. I may look scruffy and tough, but I love giving kisses and being near my people. I especially love to follow my foster mommy around the house and see what she's doing. I wouldn't want to miss out on anything exciting! But most of the time she is working at her desk so I just sit and wait patiently curled up at her feet because I'm a really good boy. I know this because my foster mommy is telling everyone how I sleep all night in my crate and how I am a dream to walk. I don't know why she's so surprised. I'm a gentleman and I would never pull on my leash. I like to take my time and observe my surroundings. I may be a little shy and hesitant at times. After living on the street, can you blame me? But my foster mommy says I'm getting more confident and playful every day. I love to roll in the grass on my back. Sometimes you just gotta scratch that itch! It's not the best for going potty though. You need a bush, tree, or post for that. How else will all the other dogs know that I was there? When I first arrived I did try to make my presence known on the leg of the dining table but my foster mommy caught me in the act and didn't seem too happy so I've been on my best behavior since then. I've been such a good boy that foster mommy and daddy let me walk around the house wherever I want and even bring me onto the bed for evening cuddles before tucking me into my crate. I am also happy to report that my training has been going very well. I've successfully trained my foster daddy to carry me up the stairs and my foster mommy to hand-feed me pieces of lean chicken. Foster mommy keeps showing me these weird toys but I don't know what she expects me to do with them. I just want to lay my head in her lap. And belly scratches. I like belly scratches. And ear scratches. I've been good with my foster brother but I have to admit that I do enjoy having all the attention to myself sometimes. Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Gia will be available for adoption after she has her luxating patella surgery completed and she has healed from the surgery. She is 7 months old and weighs 3 lbs. Her adoption fee is 1,200.00. Gia came into rescue at just 16 weeks old and in need of hernia repair and spaying and all her vaccines. Now she is currently up to date and has had her hernia repaired and spayed. She is slowly adjusting to humans as Gia was left alone with only her siblings and mama dog for 12 to 14 hours a day. She is working on her house training and basic commands. She is frightened by most new experiences but is again slowly coming around to trust her foster parents that she will be safe. Gia is not a cuddly bug and enjoys the company of other dogs. She will need a home with a fenced yard and other young dogs to show her the ropes and learn from. Currently Gia is still pending a significant medical issue that will require surgery. Gia was born with a luxated patella when she is fully grown which should be in September. In the meantime, she continues to work on becoming more socialize with humans. We are absolutely positive Gia will be a happy, healthy and well adjusted, little pup once she is finally ready for her forever home. Gia is staying with Donna in Brick, NJ. Meet Gianna – Medical Pending Gianna is a sweet, two-year-old pup weighing just 3.4 pounds—well below her healthy range of 5 to 6 pounds. She’s currently on a nutritional plan to help her gain weight, and once she maintains a stable weight, her vet will consider scheduling her spay surgery. Despite her tiny size, Gianna has a big personality. She’s food aggressive, which we’re actively working on, and she’s extremely skittish—she often backs away when approached and is afraid of people. Teddy was surrendered when his owners realized they had too many dogs to care for properly. Teddy is a 1 1/2-year-old maltipoo and weighs 17.2 lbs. He is extremely friendly and walks well on leash. He seems to be housebroken and lived with other dogs, both big and small. He has not been around cats but can be cat tested. The owner mentioned he loves children and we believe this to be true due to his super friendly personality. Teddy does seem anxious in the kennel, so a family that is home more often than not is preferred. We have noticed salivary stains on all four paws and his face which could indicate an allergy. He is being treated but may need follow up care from your vet going forward. This little guy should also have regular grooming to keep that maltese/poodly hair looking its best.
